™

Training Guide

The CrystalTone Ringer™ is an extra loud ringer that alerts people to an incoming telephone call. It is

ideal for people who have difﬁculty hearing the phone ringing or people who work in a noisy environment

who need to be alerted to incoming phone calls.

The CrystalTone ringer is not a telephone. It connects to the telephone line and emits an extra loud ring

tone whenever an incoming call is detected.

The CrystalTone Ringer has several features to make hearing the telephone ring as carefree as possible:

Volume Control: The ring volume is adjustable, and can be set as loud as 95dB. Slide the volume

control to the right to increase the ring volume, slide the volume control to the left to

decrease the volume.

On/Off: Turns the loud ringer on and off. The telephone will still ring (at its regular volume)

when the CrystalTone Ringer is turned off.

Ring Indicator: This light on the CrystalTone ringer lights up when a call comes in.

Tone Control: The adjustable Tone Control lets you set the ring frequency to different levels, to ﬁnd a

sound frequency that works best for your own hearing situation. Some people hear

higher pitched sounds better than lower pitched sounds. Slide the Tone control to the

right for a higher-pitched ring.

Ring Patterns: You can select from for distinct ring patters, by moving the Ring Pattern selector.

Try various ring patterns and tone settings to ﬁnd the combination that is best for

your individual hearing level.

Step 1 – Selecting the Location

CAUTION! Do not plug the CrystalTone Ringer into any telephone line other than a typical, analog

telephone line. Connection to a digital system may damage the ringer or the telephone system and will void

your warranty.

Set up the CrystalTone Ringer in a place where: (a) There is a phone jack nearby. Cords should not lie

across any walkway. (b) The surface that the ringer is set on, or mounted to, is stable and secure. (c) The

area is protected from excessive heat or humidity.

Step 2 – Setting up the CrystalTone Ringer

Placing on a desktop

1. Plug the telephone line cord into the telephone line jack on the bottom of the

CrystalTone Ringer and the other end into the wall phone jack.

2. Set the CrystalTone Ringer on a sturdy surface such as a desk. It may be

placed on its side or ﬂat.

Mounting on a Wall

Use the previous instructions with the following exceptions:

1. Select a spot within a few inches of the wall phone jack.

2. Using the template below, drill 2 holes that are 2.3 inches apart. Use a

drill bit.

3. With a hammer, tap the plastic wall anchors into holes until ﬂush with wall.

4. Using a Phillips head screw driver, insert screws into the anchors until head

of screw is

5. Align holes on back of CrystalTone Ringer with screws and hang the ringer on the wall.

SPECIFICATIONS

1. Read and understand all instructions.

2. Follow all warnings and instructions on the CrystalTone Ringer.

3. For indoor use only.

4. Unplug the CrystalTone Ringer from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol

cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.

5. Do not use the CrystalTone Ringer near water, for example, near a bath tub, in a wet basement or near

a swimming pool.

6. Do not place the CrystalTone Ringer on an unstable surface.

7. Do not allow anything to rest on the telephone cord. Do not locate the CrystalTone Ringer where people

can walk on the cord.

8. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the CrystalTone Ringer. Take it to a qualiﬁed

service person when service

or repair work is required. Opening the unit or incorrect re-assembly can expose you to dangerous

voltages or other risks. The CrystalTone Ringer does not have any user-serviceable parts.

9. Unplug the CrystalTone Ringer from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualiﬁed service personnel

under the following conditions: (a) If liquid has been spilled into the ringer. (b) If the ringer has been

exposed to rain or water. (c) If the ringer does not operate normally. Adjust only those controls that

are covered by the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage.

(d) If the ringer has been dropped and/or damaged. (e) If the ringer exhibits a distinct change in

performance.

1. The CrystalTone Ringer is designed to work with a standard analog telephone line, as is commonly

found in most households or with

many fax machines. The CrystalTone

Ringer

is NOT designed to work

with high-speed cable modems, ﬁber optic, or digital telephone lines. The exception: users CAN hook the

CrystalTone Ringer up to a DSL (digital subscriber line) line ONLY if there is an analog ﬁlter on the line.

The

CrystalTone Ringer

draws its power from the telephone line, so there is no need to plug an electrical

adapter into a wall power outlet.
