Webasto Heater Operating Instructions for
FMTV
System Description
Both systems, factory or field installed, utilize the Webasto
DBW 2010 coolant heater to pre-heat the vehicle engine
for cold starting, and provide additional heat to the crew
compartment during vehicle operation.
The Webasto heater is located inside a protective
enclosure on the driver’s side of the vehicle, near the
engine exhaust outlet. See Figures 1. and 2. for heater
location.
– (1) Factory installed heater enclosure box
– (2) Vehicle exhaust outlet
– (3) Heater retrofit kit enclosure box
Factory Installed System Preparation
ATTENTION
Before starting the heater, it is important to remove and
relocate the 2 plugs in the bottom of the enclosure box.
Remove and relocate the air intake and exhaust plugs as
shown in Figure 3.

– (6) Heater exhaust plug (relocated)

Switching The Webasto Heater On (Factory
Installed System)
To switch the heater “On”, simply activate the switch
located on the instrument panel.
– (1) Instrument panel
– (2) Heater (On/Off) switch
Switching The Webasto Heater On (Field
Installed Heater System)
ATTENTION
The vehicle heat control knob must be in the heat mode
(pulled out).
To switch the heater “On”, simply activate the toggle
switch located on the instrument panel.
– (3) Vehicle heat control knob
– (4) Instrument panel
– (5) Heater (On/Off) switch
Switching The Webasto Heater Off
ATTENTION
Forgetting to switch the heater “off” when the vehicle
is parked (and not running) may result in dead batteries.
For either system, to switch the Webasto heater Off,
simply put the switch in the “Off” position. A cool down
cycle of approximately 3 minutes will occur, and the
Webasto heater will be off.
