▋▋Safety▋Precautions
Do not assemble or y this glider without seeking expert assistance. Be
guided by your dealer, shop owner, or R/C ight school instructor who
is experienced with model ying. The person helping you is requested
to observe not only the instructions and precautions in this manual,
but also the guidelines for safe ight. In order to prevent re or injury
always observe the precautions, warnings and dangers refereed to in
this manual.
▋▋Be▋Guided▋By▋Your▋Dealer,▋Hobby▋Shop▋or▋an▋Advanced▋Pilot▋-▋
this▋glider▋is▋not▋a▋toy.
If you are a beginner with R/C gliders, do not try to assemble or y this
model by yourself. If you cannot complete the assembly by yourself,
take guidance from your dealer or an advanced pilot. Seek appropriate
guidance from your dealer or an advanced pilot so that you can have
success and enjoyment from your ying. When you rst y the model,
be sure to ask for assistance. Pay close attention to the care and use of
peripheral equipment including the battery, charger, etc.
▋▋Buy▋a▋Radio▋Control▋Insurance▋Policy
Please be sure to purchase a "radio control insurance policy". For
details, please inquire with our distributor, dealer, or an insurance
agent. Be careful when handling parts such as the battery or charger.
Improper handling may result in electric shock, burn, explosion, or
fire. Please follow the guidance from related instruction manuals
while using this product. When not flying, please unplug the
battery connectors. While storing or moving the battery, please use
special battery cases. Do not store batteries in a high temperature
environment such as a car trunk.
▋▋Precautions▋for▋Handling
• Accessories such as the battery and electrical parts should be handled
with care. If the insulation is torn or a connector is shorted, you could
be burnt or injured. Read the instructions for all accessories before
handling.
• Unnecessary disassembly or modication of any component is strictly
prohibited.
• Neglect of this could result in a fault and/or accident.
▋▋Precautions▋for▋Safe▋Flight
• To successfully y this glider, it is rst necessary to learn basic skills
for ight.
• Receive guidance from our dealer or an experienced pilot, and
operate under their instruction.
• If you notice an abnormality before ight, be sure to eliminate the
cause before ying.
• If two or more FM or PCM radio devices are used simultaneously
on the same frequency, you can not operate the glider because of
interference.
If someone else is using the same frequency, operation may stop.
If there is interference despite no one using the same frequency,
another source of interference exists. Never y until this interference
has been cleared.
• When launching this glider using the 'discus launch method', be
careful of your surroundings. Do not launch the glider toward people
(especially children), property, etc.
• This glider requires the use of a transmitter which allows appropriate
glider functions such as aperon mixing, camber trim, ight modes,
etc. Suitable transmitters include the JR XG6, XG8 or XG11.
▋▋Flying▋Site▋and▋Range
1) The controllable range of the glider will vary depending on the
receiver you are using. Full range receivers will allow control of the
glider at a great distance. However, the true range is limited to where
you can conrm the behaviors of the glider with your own eyes.
2) Never operate the glider in a place where you may lose sight of it, or
the radio signal from your transmitter fails to reach it - a crash is
very likely.
3) Try to understand your surroundings at all times and never y in
bad weather such as strong wind or rain, at night, or in low visibility.
4) Never y in a place where there are people, cars, schools, hospitals,
other buildings or obstacles, or by a river or on the seashore; always
y at an exclusive aireld for radio controlled models.
5) Do not fly near roads, tracks, electric lines, high-tension lines or
other objects determined dangerous.
6) Observe these rules for safe ight with your glider.
▋▋Precautions▋for▋the▋Operator
1) The following persons or those in the following states should never
operate this glider:
t
Infants, children, or other persons who have no knowledge or
experience of r/c gliders
t
Pregnant woman;
t
When you are tired, ill, under the inuence of medicine or alcohol
and cannot make proper judgments in safe operation;
t
When you are a beginner or borrow someone's radio control glider
and have not taken sufficient safety guidance on the operating
methods;
t
Those who are believed to be incapable of flying a radio control
glider.
2) Wear easy-to-move clothes.
t
Wear clothes whose edges or hems can not come into contact with
the wings of the glider, the antenna or controls on the transmitter.
t
It is very dangerous if accessories such as rings, bracelets, etc. are
caught by the glider or the transmitter. Remove them and bundle
long hair so that it will not be caught.
t
In order to protect your feet, wear solid, easy-to-move shoes,
avoiding sandals or high-heel shoes.
t
Wear a cap, gloves, sunglasses or goggles as required.
3) Do not y the glider in an unnatural posture.
t
Avoid standing in an unstable or slippery position.
t
Do not y while looking backward, sitting or lying.
t
Do not bring the glider too close to the operator or surrounding
people (if there are bystanders, make sure that they are behind the
operator).
4) Take breaks between ights.
t
An excessively long flight makes the operator lose his/her
concentration due to fatigue, leading to accidents.
t
Take adequate breaks between ights.
▋▋Precautions▋for▋Flight
1) Make sure the wings are properly secured to the fuselage.
2) Check all screws to conrm they are properly tightened. Tighten any
loose screws.
3) Keep the aireld as neat and tidy as possible and place the glider in a
stable place.
4) Make sure that the batteries in the transmitter and the receiver are
fully charged.
5) Always turn on the transmitter rst.
6) Conduct a distance (range) test of the transmitter. Follow the
directions of your transmitter manufacturer. Move the controls and
conrm movement of the Glider servos. If they do not move properly,
check the cause and have it repaired as necessary.
7) Extend the transmitter's antenna to its full length. Put the receiver
antenna through an antenna tube and make sure that it can easily
receive the radio signal, ensuring it cannot be caught by moving
parts. Do not bend or bundle the antenna.
8) When using a 2.4GHz transmitter set, please adjust the antenna as
directed in the manual supplied with the transmitter.
▋▋Precautions▋during▋Flight
1) If you note an abnormality such as unusual noise, etc. during ight,
swiftly land the glider in a safe place and eliminate the cause prior
to ying again.
2) Never look away from the glider during ight. If you do so even for a
short period of time, it may change its posture or you may lose sight
of it, and loose control. Always assume the worst-case scenario and
all care should be taken to prevent a crash.
3) Never allow the power of the transmitter or the glider to run low (set
the transmitter timer, etc as a precautionary measure).
▋▋Inspection▋after▋Flight
1) After each flight inspect the following: Check wings and control
surfaces.
2) Wipe o dirt and water drops from the glider (if dirt on the movable
parts is left uncleaned for a long time, they may move less smoothly,
having a bad eect on ight performance).
3) When storing the glider for a long period of time, clean it before
storage.
t
Store it in a dry, safe place beyond the reach of infants or children.
t
If there is damage or other issues repair or replace components as
necessary before storage.
4) Check whether or not the receiver and servos are rmly secured, and
free from problems.
5) Check the receiver antenna wire from time to time because its core
may become broken. This may not be immediately apparent, so have
it checked periodically by the manufacturer.
▋▋Assembly
Carefully carry out the following assembly procedures.
1) Drill a 3mm hole at the tip of the main wing where
marked. Position the carbon reinforcement plate and
carbon ber peg (shaft) as shown below. Attach the peg
and plate using 30 minute epoxy glue. Be sure to place
the peg depending on your hand dominance. If you are
right handed, place the peg on the left wing tip. If you
are left handed, place the peg on the right wing tip.
Caution:
※ The main wing structure includes foam which Cyanoacrylate
(CA) glue may deteriorate - we recommend not using CA glue.
※ Do not use too much glue as it will increase the glider
weight.
