Before Getting Started
Samsung SecretZone v2.1.600 features enhanced encryption
for improved Secure Drive image protection and security.
Previous Samsung SecretZone Secure Drive images need to
be converted into the new, powerful encryption format
using the update tool before use.

Launching
Connect your Samsung external HDD to the computer and
launch Samsung SecretZone Update Tool.
Caution: Update Tool will not launch if Samsung
SecretZone hasn’t been updated to the
latest version.
User Selection from Launch Screen:
1. Select a user account that contains the image you
wish to convert.

Selecting a user displays Secure Drive images that need to
be converted.
From Secure Drive Image Selection Screen:
2. From the list of Secure Drive images, select the one
you wish to convert.

From Password Entry Screen:
3. Enter the selected Secure Drive image’s password.

Image Conversion Completed:
4. The converted Secure Drive image can now be used
with the latest version of Samsung SecretZone.

If the conversion process has been successful, Samsung
SecretZone Update Tool will terminate after producing a
Secure Drive image that’s available for use.

Reentering Password
After launching the new version of Samsung SecretZone, load
the converted Secure Drive image. You will then be
prompted to reenter the password.
1. Enter a new password and click OK.
