WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all
instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury.
Save all warnings and
instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your
mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated
(cordless) power tool.
Work area safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark
areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools
create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you
to lose control.
Electrical safety
4. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk of electric shock.
5. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
6. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase
the risk of electric shock.

extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a
cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
9. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
10. Use of power supply via a RCD with a rated
residual current of 30mA or less is always
recommended.
Personal safety
11. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool. Do
not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while operating power tools
may result in serious personal injury.
12. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear
eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust
mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing
protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
13. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch
is in the off-position before connecting to power
source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying
the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the
switch or energising power tools that have the switch
on invites accidents.
14. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left
attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
15. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. This enables better control of
the power tool in unexpected situations.
16. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.
17. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these
are connected and properly used. Use of dust
collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care
18. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power
tool for your application. The correct power tool will
do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was
designed.
19. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
20. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or
the battery pack from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing accessories,
or storing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally.
21. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children
and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
power tool or these instructions to operate the
power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands
of untrained users.
22. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the power
tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
23. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
24. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.
in accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for operations
different from those intended could result in a
hazardous situation.

hearing loss.
2. Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with the tool.
Loss of control can cause personal injury.
3. Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces,
when performing an operation where the cutting
accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own
cord. Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire may
make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and
could give the operator an electric shock.
4. Wear a hard hat (safety helmet), safety glasses
and/or face shield. Ordinary eye or sun glasses
are NOT safety glasses. It is also highly
recommended that you wear a dust mask and
thickly padded gloves.
5. Be sure the bit is secured in place before
operation.
6. Under normal operation, the tool is designed to
produce vibration. The screws can come loose
easily, causing a breakdown or accident. Check
tightness of screws carefully before operation.
7. In cold weather or when the tool has not been
used for a long time, let the tool warm up for a
while by operating it under no load. This will
loosen up the lubrication. Without proper warm-
up, hammering operation is difficult.
8. Always be sure you have a firm footing.
Be sure no one is below when using the tool in
high locations.
7
9. Hold the tool firmly with both hands.
10. Keep hands away from moving parts.

CAUTION:
•The speed adjusting dial can be turned only as far as 5
and back to 1. Do not force it past 5 or 1, or the speed
adjusting function may no longer work.
For Model HM0871C only
NOTE:
•Blows at no load per minute becomes smaller than
those on load in order to reduce vibration under no
load, but this does not show trouble. Once operation
starts with a bit against concrete, blows per minute
increase and get to the numbers as shown in the table.
When temperature is low and there is less fluidity in
grease, the tool may not have this function even with
the motor rotating.
Indicator lamp (Fig. 3)
The green power-ON indicator lamp lights up when the
tool is plugged. If the indicator lamp does not light up, the
mains cord or the controller may be malfunction. The
indicator lamp is lit but the tool does not start even if the
tool is switched on, the carbon brushes may be worn out,
or the controller, the motor or the ON/OFF switch may be
malfunction.
The red service indicator lamp flickers up when the
carbon brushes are nearly worn out to indicate that the
tool needs servicing. After approx. 8 hours of use, the
motor will automatically be shut off.

DESKRIPSI FUNGSI
PERHATIAN:
menerus. Selalu berhati-hati ketika mengunci mesin
dalam posisi “ON” dan pegang mesin kuat-kuat.
Untuk menyalakan mesin, tekan tuas saklar “ON (I)” pada
sisi kiri mesin. Untuk menghentikan mesin, tekan tuas
saklar “OFF (O)” pada sisi kanan mesin.
Perubahan kecepatan (Gb. 2)
saklar penyetel. Hal ini dapat dilakukan bahkan ketika
mesin sedang bekerja. Saklar diberi tanda 1 (kecepatan
terrendah) sampai 5 (kecepatan penuh).

masalah. Ketika pengoperasian dimulai dengan
pengerjaan pada beton, hembusan per menit
meningkat dan mencapai angka yang ditunjukkan
dalam tabel. Ketika suhu rendah dan gemuknya kurang
cair, mesin dapat tidak berfungsi dengan baik
walaupun motornya berputar.
Lampu indikator (Gb. 3)
Lampu indikator daya-ON yang berwarna hijau menyala
ketika steker mesin dimasukkan. Jika lampu indikator
kerusakan pada pengendali, motor atau saklar ON/OFF.
Lampu indikator servis berkedip ketika sikat karbon
hampir aus untuk menandakan bahwa mesin perlu
diperbaiki. Setelah penggunaan selama kira-kira 8 jam,

PERAKITAN
PERHATIAN:
steker tercabut sebelum melakukan pekerjaan apapun
pada mesin.
Pegangan sisi (pegangan tambahan)
Untuk mesin dengan pegangan sisi jenis batang
(Gb. 4)
Tar ik tutu p p ele pa s b ebera pa kali. Kemudian masukkan
lagi mata mesin. Putar mata mesin dan dorong sampai
terpasang. (Gb. 7)
Setelah memasang, selalu pastikan bahwa mata mesin
benar-benar terpasang pada tempatnya dengan mencoba
menariknya keluar. (Gb. 8)
Untuk melepas mata mesin, tarik tutup pelepas
sepenuhnya dan tarik mata mesin keluar. (Gb. 9)
Sudut mata mesin (Gb. 10 & Gb. 11)
pegangan saklar selama penggunaan. Nyalakan mesin
Hanya gunakan gemuk mesin bobok asli
buatan Makita (aksesori pilihan).
banyaknya. (Gb. 17)
PERHATIAN:
•Hati-hati jangan sampai merusak konektor atau kabel,
terutama ketika mengelap gemuk bekas.
prosedur pembongkaran.
PERHATIAN:
•Jangan mengencangkan tutup engkol terlalu kuat.
terutama ketika memasang pegangan.
Hubungkan konektor dengan kuat dan kemudian pasang
kembali pegangan. (Gb. 18)
Untuk menjaga KEAMANAN dan KEANDALAN mesin,
perbaikan, pemeriksaan dan penggantian sikat karbon,
serta perawatan atau penyetelan lain harus dilakukan
oleh Pusat Layanan Resmi Makita, selalu gunakan suku
cadang pengganti buatan Makita.
