3.6 DistanceMeasurementsGuidelinesforCorrectResults
Description
Alaserdistancer(EDM)isincorporatedintotheR6instruments.Inallversions,thedistancecan
bedeterminedbyusingavisibleredlaserbeamwhichemergescoaxiallyfromthetelescope
objective.TherearetwoEDMmodes:
RLmeasurements
• Whenadistancemeasurementistriggered,theEDMmeasurestotheobjectwhichisinthe
beampathatthatmoment.Ifatemporaryobstruction,forexampleapassingvehicle,
heavyrain,fogorsnowisbetweentheinstrumentandthepointtobemeasured,theEDM
maymeasuretotheobstruction.
• Besurethatthelaserbeamisnotreflectedbyanythingclosetothelineofsight,for
examplehighlyreflectiveobjects.
