Auto On Mode
Turning The Lights On
The WA-200 will turn lights ON and OFF auto m a t i ca l l y
based on occ u p a n c y. If the lights are turned OFF
m a n u a l ly, automatic-ON operation will not be
re e n a b l ed until no motion is dete c t ed for five minute s .
This fe a t u re prevents lights from acc i d e n ta l ly being
turned ON after they we re delibera te l y turned OFF.
Button Override
Manual On Mode
The lights can be turned ON or OFF by pre s sing the
A u to ON/OFF button, re g a r d le s s of the opera t i n g
m o d e .
O c cupants must turn ON the lights by pre s sing the
A u to-ON/OFF button. The sensor will then keep the
lights ON until no motion is dete c ted for the sele c t e d
time delay period. There is a 30 second reset delay. If
motion is dete c ted during this time, the sensor will
turn the lights back ON auto m a t i ca l l y. After the re s e t
delay time has elapsed, the Auto-ON/OFF button must
be pre s sed to turn the lights ON.

UNIT DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The WA-200 is a pass i ve infra red wall switch that turns lighting ON and OFF
based on occupancy and ambient light levels. SmartSet™ te c h n o l ogy allows the
sensor to be insta l l ed without any adjustments. This te c h n o logy allows the
sensor to auto m a t i ca l l y adjust to the usage patterns in the space. Alte r n a te
o p e rat ing modes, sele c t ed by DIP switch settings, can be combined to cre a t e
the ideal custom co n t rol.
Time Delays
The WA-200 time delay holds the lights ON until no motion is dete c ted for a
time period of 5 seconds to 30 minutes, at which point it turns the lights OFF.
The sensor can auto m a t i c a l ly select the time delay, or the user can choose a
f i x ed delay.
Fixed Time Delay DIP switch selections provide fixed time delays of 5,
10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 minute s .
SmartSet™ Time
Delays
R e co rds typical occupancy patterns. Using this histo r y
(which is co n sta n t l y updated), it chooses an optimal
time delay from 7 minutes (when space is usually
va cant) up to 30 minutes (for times that show heavy
usage). SmartSet behavior starts immediate ly, and is
refined co n t i n u a l l y as history is co l le c t e d .
Light Flash Alert Lights will flash OFF for one second, one minute
b e f o re they will be turned OFF by the sensor.
Walk-Through
Mode
The WA-200 turns the lights OFF three minutes afte r
the area is initially occupied, if no motion is dete c te d
a f t er the first 30 seconds. If motion continues beyo n d
the first 30 seconds, the set time delay applies.
Light Level Control
Light Level Control
Enabled
Lights are held OFF, even when the co n t r o l l ed area is
o ccupied, as long as the ambient light level is gre a t e r
than a chosen threshold level. The light level can be
set with the overhead lights ON or OFF.
Alerts
The WA-200 can provide alerts as a warning befo r e the lights turn OFF.
Visit our website for FAQs: www.wattstopper.com
To te st the sensor, a short time delay of 5 seconds is
set as the default (SmartSet/Te s t). Te s t Mode ca n ce l s
a u t o m a t i ca l l y after five minutes, or if a fixed time delay
is sele c ted . To re s tart the Te s t Mode, change the time
delay switch setting to any fixed amount and then
return it to the SmartSet/Te s t setting.
Test Mode
No Alerts
Sensor will "chirp" twice, at one minute and at 30
s e conds befo r e turn-OFF. A distinct alert will sound 10
s e conds befo r e the lights go OFF.
Audible Alerts
Dual Alerts When both Light Flash Alerts and Audible Alerts are
s e le c ted, the Audible Alert at one minute remaining is
re p l a ced by the Light Flash Ale r t .
No warning will be prov i d e d .
High D e f ault setting. Suita b le for most applica t i o n s .
Sensitivity Adjustment
The WA-200 co n sta n t l y monito rs the co n t ro l l ed environment and auto m a t i ca l ly
a d j u sts to avoid common ambient conditions that can cause false dete c t i o n s ,
w h i l e providing maximum cove rag e.
R e d u c es sensitivity by approx i m a te l y 50%. Useful in
cases where the sensor is detecting movement outside
of the desired area (also consider masking the le n s )
and where heat sources cause unnecssary activa t i o n .
Low
COVERAGE PATTERNS
The WA-200 will cover up to 300 sq. ft. The typical re commended cove rage fo r
d e s k t op activity is 150 sq. ft. The sensor has a two - t i e r ed, multi-cell view i n g
Fresnel lens with 180 degree field of view.
Masking the lens
Opaque adhesive tape is supplied so that sections of the sensor’s view can be
m a s ked . This allows you to eliminate cove rage in unwanted areas. Since
masking re m o ves bands of cove rag e, remember to ta ke this into acco u n t
when tro u b leshooting cove rage pro b l e m s .
1 . M a k e sure that the power has been turned OFF at the circuit bre a k e r.
2 . Connect the ex i sting wires to the sensor te r m i n a l s .
Hot or Black to Line; Load or Red to Load; Ground or Green to Gro u n d
Do not allow bare wire to show above co n n e c to r.
The ground wire must be tightly fa stened or the unit will not opera te
p r o p e r ly.
If the metal junction box is grounded, attachment of the st rap (by screw s )
to the junction box can co n st i t u te a suita b le ground. Ass u re that the gre e n
g r ound screw on the sensor is co m p le t e l y tighte n e d .
3 . A t t ach the sensor to the wall box by
inserting screws into the two wide
h o les on the top and bottom of the
a t t ached metal bra c ket. Match them
up with the holes in the wall box and
t i g h t e n .
4 . Turn circuit bre a k er ON. Wait one
m i n u t e, then push the auto/OFF switc h
and the lights will turn ON. There is a
delay due to initial power-up of the
sensor that only occ u rs during
i n s ta l l a t i o n .

ADJUSTMENTS
Sensor Adjustment
Your WA-200 has been preset for optimum perfo r m a n c e at the fa c t o r y. It is
designed with SmartSet te c h n o logy for “Install and Fo r get” functionality. If yo u
need to change the settings fo l low the directions below.
All major adjustments to the WA-200 must be made with the wall plate
re m o ved. To acce s s DIP switches, re m o ve the button cap by squeezing the to p
sides of the button and pull it gently away from the unit.
When the adjustments are co m p l e ted, re p l a ce the button by inserting its hinges
i n t o the LED light bar and then squeeze the top of the button while pre s sing it
i n t o the unit. Reinstall the cover plate .
Light Level Adjustment
To set, or reset, the threshold to match a particular ambient light level, put the
sensor into TEST mode. Pre s s and hold the button for 3 seconds, until a beep is
h e a rd, then step away from the sensor. After 25 seconds another short beep
will sound, indicating that the threshold level has been set. This threshold will
be re tained, even if power is lo s t, or Light Level Control is te m p o ra r i ly disable d ,
until it is re - p r o g rammed in this manner.
Automatic Reset
Holding the On/Off button for ten seconds will cause the WA-200 to reset to
d e f ault settings. This includes resetting the light level threshold to maximum
(i.e. even the brighte st ambient light will not hold the light OFF). The sensor
o ccupancy history is also re s e t .
