VCM110AAP • Installation Guide
The Extron VCM110AAP is a remote volume/mute controller that functions with a selection of Extron products, such as the MPA152Plus
and the MP101 AAP. The VCM 110 AAP is backwards compatible, able to be integrated into existing systems as well as installed into new
systems.
Mounted into the standard Extron AAP mounting frame, the VCM110AAP has a 10k ohm potentiometer volume control knob and a mute
button with an associated mute LED. The mute LED lights red to indicate audio mute ON and does not light to indicate audio mute OFF.
Remote connector pin confi guration
The diagram on the right illustrates wiring:
• 10V is a 10VDC reference voltage.
• VOL is volume and mute control with DC voltage; the range is 0 to 10 V,
where 0 V is mute and 10 V provides maximum volume.
• GND is ground.
NOTE: All Nominal levels are at ±10%.
Audio level setting procedure
To set the system level to not exceed the maximum volume when using the VCM110,
do the following:
1. Reduce the power ampli er volume to minimum.
2. Turn the Volume knob on the VCM110 to the maximum (fully clockwise) position.
3. Slowly turn up the power ampli er volume to the maximum undistorted sound level allowed for the application.
