The specified times are just approximate. These times may be shorter or longer depending on the
food characteristics and your personal preferences.
1 To achieve even cooking, we recommend cooking 14 oz (400 g) of French fries for about 16 to
18 minutes without preheating until they are browned just right. Toss the French fries after 2/3 of
the cooking time. When tossing, make sure that the French fries are well mixed and that the inner,
uncooked French fries are moved to the outside. To do this, pull the pan (4) including the basket
(3) from the air fryer using the handle (6) and toss the food. The air fryer switches off
automatically when the pan (4) including the basket (3) is removed. As soon as the pan (4)
including the basket (3) has been put back properly, the air fryer switches back on automatically
until the timer (16) expires.
If cooking is uneven, you should toss the French fries every 3 minutes if necessary.
2 These foods should be tossed halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. To do
this, pull the pan (4) including the basket (3) from the air fryer using the handle (6) and toss the
food. The air fryer switches off automatically when the pan (4) including the basket (3) is
removed. As soon as the pan (4) including the basket (3) has been put back properly, the air
fryer switches back on automatically until the timer (16) expires.
3 Before deep-frying them, we recommend these ingredients to be tossed in 1/2 tbsp. of oil in a
bowl. Never put the oil directly into the pan (4) or the basket (3)!
4 Never put the dough directly into the pan (4) or the basket (3)! Only put the dough into a
suitable, heat-resistant container or an appropriate baking pan (for example, a muffin pan). Place
the container or the baking pan into the basket (3). You can easily purchase a suitable baking
pan (round, max. diameter of 6.7 in (17 cm) and max. 3.3 in (8.5 cm) high) on the Internet or in
a housewares store.
With layered food (for example, French fries), check its browning progress often until it is as
brown as you want.
The cooking time is lengthened by about 2-3 minutes if the air fryer is cold.
10. Maintenance / cleaning
10.1. Maintenance
Maintenance work is necessary if the air fryer has been
damaged, if liquid or objects have penetrated the interior of the
housing, the air fryer has been exposed to rain or moisture, the
air fryer is not operating correctly or has been dropped. If you
SilverCrest SHFD 1400 A1

see smoke, hear unusual noises or smell odors, switch the air
fryer off immediately and remove the plug from the power
outlet. In these cases, do not use the air fryer again before it
has been checked by an expert. Only let qualified technicians
perform maintenance work. Never open the housing of the air
fryer.
10.2. Cleaning
- Before cleaning, remove the plug from the power outlet.
There is an electric shock hazard!
- Never immerse the air fryer itself in water. There is an
electric shock hazard!
Wait until the air fryer has cooled down. Otherwise, you
could be burned!
The pan (4) and the basket (3) can be removed for cleaning. To do this, pull the pan (4) including
the basket (3) from the air fryer using the handle (6). First open the cover and then press the Unlock
button (5) to release the basket (3) from the pan (4). First remove any large pieces of leftover food.
Afterward, the pan (4) and the basket (3) can be cleaned in the sink using detergent and warm
water. Then rinse the pan (4) and the basket (3) with clean water and dry them completely before
putting them back into the air fryer. Never use a wire brush or other scouring objects.
The pan (4) and the basket (3) are dishwasher-safe.
To clean the inside and outside surfaces, use a damp cloth, possibly with some detergent. Never
use solvents or cleaners that attack plastics.
After cleaning, put the pan (4) and the basket (3) back in the air fryer. Proceed as follows:
1. Place the basket (3) back into the pan (4) until it latches.
2. Insert the pan (4) including the basket (3) into the air fryer until it latches.
11. Storage when not being used
