INTRODUCTION
Thank you for acquiring the latest addion to DT Research’s line of tablets — the
DT340T. Featuring a slim yet robust enclosure, the DT340T with a 14” TFT display is
powered by the Intel® processor, oering opmal combinaons of performance and
power savings. The DT340T is available with Microso® Windows® operang system.
The soware operang system features web browser, client/ server compung
soware, media player, accessories, and applicaons support.

Federal Communication Commission Interference
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a
Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are
designed to provide reasonable protecon against harmful interference in
a residenal installaon. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate
radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with

PRECAUTIONS
• Always exercise care when operang and handling the DT340T
• Do NOT apply excessive pressure to the display screen.
• We recommend using the Digital Pen (oponal) to keep the screen clean.
• Avoid prolonged exposure of the display panel to any strong heat source.
Wherever possible, the DT340T should face away from direct light to reduce
glare.
• If the AC-DC power adapter is used to recharge or power the tablet, do NOT use
any AC-DC adapter other than the one provided or acquired from the manufac-
turer or its partners.
• In the unlikely event that smoke, abnormal noise, or strange odor is present,
immediately power o the DT340T and disconnect all power sources. Report the
problem to your device provider immediately.
• Never aempt to disassemble the DT340T, as this will void the warranty.
BASIC FEATURES
The DT340T wireless tablet integrates a bright display, one USB port, and embedded
networking elements such as wireless LAN and Bluetooth or oponal mobile
broadband. The DT340Tis complemented by a suite of accessories, including baery
expansion, charging cradles, and baery charger kit, for a comprehensive user
experience.
A DT340T typically integrates an 802.11ac wireless LAN (WLAN) adapter that may
connect to other wireless devices or access points. If your DT340T does not come
with such a network adapter, please consult your device provider to establish the
desired network connecvity.
Power/Battery LED Status:
• Blue indicates the baery is 25% to 100% charged
• Blinking blue indicates the baery is charging
• Orange indicates that the baery is between 11% to 25%
• Blinking Orange indicates that the baery is below 10%

Start Up
If the power up (from Standby mode or otherwise) is successful, the appropriate
interface will be displayed aer a launch sequence of several seconds. The wireless
LAN connecon may take 10-15 seconds to be established.
Configuring the Mobile Tablet
The DT340T may be congured using the ulies and methods dictated by the
soware operang system. The DT340T should be congurable for various properes
such as user proles, network features, and several system elements.
Wireless Networking

The DT340T is oen delivered with an embedded (user-inaccessible) 802.11ac WLAN
adapter equipped with a hidden custom antenna.

T
hrough the support of typical WLAN adapters, the DT340T should be able to
detect all 802.11 access points in the vicinity for you to select the access point of
your choice for connecon.

T
he SSID and WEP/WPA/WPA2 (if enabled) parameters on the DT340T and the
access points have to match. The SSID is case-sensive and it is recommended
that you enable WEP/WPA/WPA2 encrypon (or advanced alternaves) for
secure access.

W
hen WEP/WPA/WPA2 is enabled, you may need to consult your network
administrator or your networking equipment literature to properly congure
associated sengs such as Authencaon mode, etc.

R
efer to the access point operang manuals for seng up the 802.11 access
points.
Bluetooth
The Bluetooth conguraon applicaon is enabled from the System Tray or from the
Windows Mobility Center. Follow the instrucons and opons provided within the
applicaon to congure and invoke Bluetooth connecvity with the corresponding
peripherals.
OPERATION
Powering ON and OFF
To acvate the DT340T, push and quickly release the Power Buon. The display will
come on in a few seconds. To put the DT340T in Standby mode, push and quickly
release the Power Buon. To turn the DT340T o for extended storage, power o
safely using any soware funcon that “shuts down computer” provided in the
soware operang system.
NOTE:
The baery packs shipped with your tablet may be low in power—please use
the AC-DC adapter with the DT340T when seng up for the rst me to fully
charge the baery packs. You may charge the baery packs while aached to
the DT340T, or with the oponal external baery charger kit.
NOTE:
When the baery pack(s) is (are) charging, the blue-colored Baery LED should
blink slowly. If plugging in the AC-DC adapter does not trigger this blinking
acvity and the LED stays dark, the baery pack(s) may have been drained
substanally. Try unplugging/ replugging the AC-DC adapter to the DT340T a few
mes to acvate the charging process.
NOTE:
To conserve power, use (push and quick release) the Power Buon to put the
tablet in “Standby” mode while not in use. Pushing briey on the same buon
will wake up the system within seconds.
NOTE:
Avoid using the Power Buon (“hold 4+ seconds” feature) to turn o the
tablet—this form of hardware shutdown is intended to be a means of recovery
from lockups, and not as normal operaon.

USING THE MOBILE TABLET
Peripherals Support
Through its USB 3.0 ports, the DT340T supports a wide range of USB-based peripher-
als. These peripherals are applicable for soware installaon, applicaons storage,
data storage, and system soware recovery and updates.

As an ENERGY STAR® Partner, DT Research Inc. follows the EPA’s product
qualicaon and cercaon process to ensure the products marked with the
ENERGY STAR® logo are ENERGY STAR® qualied for energy eciency.
The ENERGY STAR® program specicaons for computers were to promote
energy eciency and reduce air polluon through more energy-ecient
equipment in homes, oces, and factories. One way products achieve this
goal is by using the Microso Windows power management feature to reduce
power consumpon when the product is not in use. The power management
feature enables the computer to iniate a low-power or “sleep” mode aer a
period of user inacvity.
To take advantage of these potenal energy savings, users should use the
default power management sengs that are provided with ENERGY STAR
qualied computers. The default power management sengs on ENERGY
STAR® qualied computers are preset to behave in the following ways :
Turn o display aer 10 minutes of user inacvity.
Iniate a low power sleep mode for the computer aer 30 minutes of user
inacvity.
Briey press the power buon will bring the computer out of sleep mode.
