ATTACHING CULTIVATOR TO TRACTOR
Refertoyoursleevehitchownersmanual.
1. Removethestabilizerboltsfromthetractor’ssleevehitch
asshowningure7toallowsidetosidemotionofthe
diskcultivator.
2. Attach the disc cultivatorto thesleeve hitch on your
tractorusingthesleevehitchpin.
4. Adjustthesleevehitchsothatthedisccultivatorisfree
tolowerbelowgroundlevelbutcanstillberaisedan
adequatedistanceabovegroundfortransport.
OPERATION
1. Checkforlooseboltsaftereachuse.
2. Cleanthedisksandlightlyoilanyexposedmetalafter
eachuse.
3. Removealldirtandrustandtouchupwithpaintbefore
storing.
4. Storeinsideadryarea.
Thedisccultivatorisusedtobreakupclodsofdirtinplowed
soil.Itcanalsobeusedtocultivatebetweenrowsofyoung
plants.
1. Before starting make sure the soil is dry enough by
squeezing some in your hand. If it forms a ball that
doesn’tcrumblethenthesoilistoowetfordiscing.Wet
soilwillpackbetweenthediscblades.
2. Adjustthediscstothedesiredanglesetting.Theangle
canbevariedfrom10to20degrees.Startwithasetting
of15degrees(thecarriageboltcenteredintheangle
adjustment slot in the bearing hanger bracket). The
greatertheangle,thegreaterthediscingaction.
3. Tobreakupdirtclodsinplowedsoil,startdiscingslowly
atrst.Astheclodsarebrokenupthespeedmaybe
gradually increased. Disc the soil using a crisscross
patternforbestresults.
4. Tocultivateyoungcropsbystraddlingtherows,move
thediscstothemaximumwidthsetting.Tothrowthe
dirttotheoutside,theconcavesideofthediscsshould
faceoutwardwiththediscassembliesangledtoward
therearcenter.Tothrowdirttotheinside,tosmother
youngweedsinthecroprow,theconcavesideofthe
discsshouldfaceinwardwiththediscassembliesangled
towardthefrontcenter.
5. Tousetwocultivatorsintandem,thediscassemblies
shouldbepositionedasshowningure8,withtheinside
discsalmosttouchingonthefrontcultivatorand8"to
10"apartontherearcultivator.Withthisarrangement
thefrontcultivatorwillthrowthedirttotheoutsideand
therearcultivatorwillthrowthedirtbacktotheinside.
6. Upto100lbs.ofweightmaybeaddedtohelpincrease
penetration.Concreteblocksorotherweightmaybetied
orstrappedtothecultivatortray.Beforeaddingweight,
thecultivatorshouldbeattachedtothetractorwiththe
sleevehitchinthedownposition.

ATTACHING TANDEM CULTIVATORS
1. Attachthefrontcultivatorasinstructedabove.
2. Attachtherearcultivatortothefrontcultivatorbyfastening
thereardrawbarstogetherusinga1/2"x1-1/2"hexbolt
anda 1/2" nylock nut.Do not completely tighten the
nut,allowingaslightamountofplaybetweentherear
drawbars.Seegure8.
