(1) When installing a new differential cover make sure you have properly
removed any and all gasket material from the differential mating surface. It is
also important to avoid scraping or gouging this surface to insure a tight leak
free installation when combined with correct gasket or RTV sealant.
(2) When installing the fill plug, after gear oil has been added, it is a good idea to
apply a small amount of Teflon tape to the fill plug to help insure a tight leak
free fitment.
