BEFORE YOU BEGIN ASSEMBLY:
Ensure that all the parts and hardware listed are included. If anything is missing or not satisfactory
contact Badger Basket for assistance. Read all instructions before beginning so you’ll be
familiar with the parts and their final positions.
NOTE: Sand is not included. You can purchase it separately from most
home improvement and hardware stores. You will need approximately 600
pounds of sand to fill the sandbox 6” deep. If you want the sandbox to be
deeper, assemble the sandbox and then mark the ground following the
interior edges of the box. Move the sandbox aside and excavate within the
marked area to the depth that you desire. Place the sandbox frame around
the excavated area, and fill with the amount of sand desired.
Remember, children should always wash their hands thoroughly with soap
and water after playing in the sandbox, especially before handling snacks
or meals.
STEP 1: See PICTURE 1. All four corners assemble the same. Insert the dowel pegs on the edges of the 4’ SIDE PANELS (A) into the
holes on the inside faces of the 6’ SIDE PANELS (B). This will line up the holes for the screws, and also it provides additional stability
for the finished product. Secure the boards together using THREE LONG SCREWS (C) for each corner. The screws insert through the
pre-drilled holes on the outside face of the 6’ sides. Be sure the screws are secured, but do not over torque or you may crack/splinter the
wood. MAKE SURE that the pilot holes for the corner seats are facing up on all boards!
STEP 2: See PICTURE 2. Attach one TRIANGULAR CORNER SEAT (D) to each corner of the sandbox using FOUR SHORT
SCREWS (E) for each seat. The countersunk holes on the seats face up so the heads of the screws will be flush with the surface after
being screwed in. Screw into the pilot holes pre-drilled on the 4’ and 6’ side panels. The SANDBOX is now assembled! An optional
cover is available. It can be ordered from Leaps and Bounds® (Model #12957).

STEP 1: See PICTURES 1 AND 2. Unfold the cover and lay it over the sandbox. One at a time, screw the eye hooks into the sides of
the sandbox. The eye hooks may screw in easily without using tools. If a tool is needed, you can turn them with a pair of pliers. Do not
rush. Work carefully to position each hook. Start with one corner, then do the corner diagonal to the first corner, and then complete the
other two corners before doing the last four hooks. When the cover is attached, you want it to be taut, but not so taut that the fabric is
stressed. If the fabric is too loose, rainwater and debris will pool on top of the cover.
Attach the hooks onto the eye hooks all the way around the cover to secure the cover in place. Simply undo the hooks to remove the
cover when you want to use the sandbox. The loose ties at one end of the cover can be used to roll it up and tie it.
This sandbox cover is not designed to bear the weight of children or large animals. Do not let children crawl or walk around on the
cover or jump on it. This will tear the fabric and/or the attachments and void any return policy or warranty offered on this item.

The cover can be installed by one person.
However, it is helpful to have one or two other people helping
to ensure you position the hooks where you want them so the
cover is taut and even.
