Smart access system with push-button start

■ Mechanical key

● Locks and unlocks the doors

● Opens the trunk

● Locks and unlocks the glove box

● Locks and unlocks the trunk storage extension

The mechanical key is stored inside the electronic

key. To extract the key, release the latch and pull,

or if equipped with a card key, press the button

and pull.

■ Wireless remote control

Press: locks all doors

Press once: unlocks the driver's door

Press twice: unlocks all doors

Press and hold:

opens the windows and moon roof

Press and hold: Opens the trunk

If the vehicle is equipped with a power trunk

opener and closer, the trunk lid automatically

opens fully.

Press and hold: sounds the alarm

(Use the alarm to attract attention to the vehicle in

order to help deter break-ins. To stop the alarm,

press any button on the wireless remote control.)

Before Driving

Smart Access System with Push-button Start

■ Entering the vehicle

To unlock the vehicle, simply grasp one of the

door handles.

■ Exiting the vehicle

To lock the vehicle, press the lock button on one

of the door handles.

To close the windows and the moon roof*, press

and hold the lock button.

*: If equipped

■ Opening the trunk

To open the trunk, press the trunk release button.

If the vehicle is equipped with a power trunk

opener and closer, the trunk lid automatically

opens fully.

The smart access system with push-button start allows you to enter and exit the vehicle

or start the engine by simply carrying the electronic key in your pocket or bag.

For details on starting the engine, see page 23.

For details on what to do when the electronic key does not operate properly, see page 65.

Theft Deterrent System

■ Engine immobilizer system

The engine immobilizer system prevents the

engine from being started in the event that an

attempt is made to start the vehicle using an

unregistered key.

The security indicator light flashes to indicate that

the system is set.

■ Alarm

The system sounds the alarm and flashes lights when an attempt to steal the vehicle is

detected.

To set the alarm: close the doors, trunk and hood, and lock all doors. The security indicator

light comes on to indicate that the alarm is in its preparation state. When the indicator light

begins to flash, the system is armed.

To deactivate or stop the alarm: start the engine, or unlock the doors or trunk.

■ Steering lock

The steering wheel locks when the “ENGINE

START STOP” switch is turned OFF and the

driver’s door is opened.

When the steering lock cannot be released, the

green indicator light on the “ENGINE START

STOP” switch will flash and a message will be

shown on the multi-information display. To release

it, gently turn the wheel left or right while pressing

the “ENGINE START STOP” switch.

The theft deterrent system includes the following features to help protect your vehicle

from theft.

position adjustment operation.

Power Rear Seat (4-seat models)

■ Returning the rear seat from the front seats

The seat will return to the neutral position while

the button is pressed and held.

■ Relaxation mode

Moves the seats to the relaxation mode

Returns the seats to the neutral position

The rear seat seatback, ottoman and the front

passenger seat operate simultaneously.

The operation can be performed when the

“ENGINE START STOP” switch is in IGNITION

ON mode.

When a rear door is opened, the seat on that side will automatically return to the neutral

position.

Driving Position Memory

■ Setting memory positions

While holding down the “SET” button, press and

hold one of the memory buttons (“1”, “2”, or “3”)

until you hear a beep.

The current driving position is recorded.

■ Recalling memory positions

Press one of the memory buttons (“1”, “2”, or “3”).

■ Linking driving position memory with door unlock operation

While holding down the desired memory button,

press and hold button on the wireless remote

control until you hear a beep.

To prevent triggering of the alarm, open one of

the doors within 60 seconds after the beep is

heard.

Your preferred driving position (the position of the driver's seat, steering wheel, angle of

the outside rear view mirrors and height of seat belt) can be memorized and recalled

with the touch of a button.

Linking driving position memory to the door unlock operation allows the memory position

to be recalled automatically when the driver's door is opened. (The linked function does not

operate if the driver's door is unlocked using the mechanical key or manually from inside

the vehicle.)

Rear Seat Position Memory (If Equipped)

■ Setting memory position

Press and hold the “SET” button until you hear a

beep.

The current position of the seat is recorded.

■ Recalling memory position

Press the “M” button until you hear a beep.

Your preferred rear seat position can be memorized and recalled with the touch of a button

When the door is opened, the rear seat will automatically return to its neural position.

■ Adjusting shoulder belt height (front seats only)

If the shoulder belt sits close to the neck, slide the

comfort guide forward.

Outside Rear View Mirrors

Selects a mirror to adjust (“L”: left or “R”: right)

Adjusts the mirror up, down, in, or out using

the switch

The mirrors will automatically angle downwards

when the vehicle is reversing.

To disable this function, set the mirror select switch

in the neutral position (between “L” and “R”).

■ Folding and extending the mirrors

Folds the mirrors

Extends the mirrors

Putting the switch in the neutral position allows

the folding or extending of the mirrors to be

linked to operations, such as locking/unlocking of

the doors.
