Floor Mat Installation

Fix the floor mat in place using the retaining

hooks (clips) provided.

The shape of the retaining hooks (clips) and

the fixing procedure of the floor mat for your

vehicle may differ from those shown in the

illustration. For details, refer to the floor mat

retention clip installation instructions supplied

with the clips.

Use only floor mats designed specifically for vehicles of the same model and model year

as your vehicle. Fix them securely in place onto the carpet.

■ Electronic key

Smart access system with push-button start

■ Mechanical key

● Locks and unlocks the doors

● Opens the trunk

● Locks and unlocks the glove box

The mechanical key is stored inside the electronic

key. To extract the key, release the latch and pull,

or if equipped with a card key, press the button

and pull.

■ Wireless remote control

Press: locks both side doors

Press once: unlocks the driver's door

Press twice: unlocks passenger's door

Press and hold: opens the trunk

Press and hold: sounds the alarm

(Use the alarm to attract attention to the vehi-

cle in order to help deter break-ins. To stop the

alarm, press any button on the wireless remote

control.)

Smart Access System with Push-button Start

■ Entering the vehicle

To unlock the vehicle, simply grasp either of the

door handles.

■ Exiting the vehicle

To lock the vehicle, press the lock button on either

of the door handles.

■ Opening the trunk

To open the trunk, press the trunk release button.

The smart access system with push-button start allows you to enter and exit the vehicle

or start the engine by simply carrying the electronic key in your pocket or bag.

For details on starting the engine, see page 15.

For details on what to do when the electronic key does not operate properly, see page 83.

Theft Deterrent System

■ Engine immobilizer system

The engine immobilizer system prevents the

engine from being started in the event that an

attempt is made to start the vehicle using an

unregistered key.

The security indicator light flashes to indicate that

the system is set.

■ Alarm

The system sounds the alarm and flashes lights when forcible entry is detected.

To set the alarm: close the doors, trunk and hood, and lock both side doors. The security

indicator light comes on to indicate that the alarm is in its preparation state. When the indi-

cator light begins to flash, the system is armed.

To deactivate or stop the alarm: turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to ACCESSORY

or IGNITION ON mode, or start the engine. Alternatively, unlock the doors or trunk using

the entry function, wireless remote door lock function or mechanical key.

■ Steering lock

The steering wheel locks when the “ENGINE

START STOP” switch is OFF and the driver’s door

is opened.

When the steering lock cannot be released, the

green indicator light on the “ENGINE START

STOP” switch will flash and a message will be

shown on the multi-information display. To release

it, gently turn the wheel left or right while pressing

the “ENGINE START STOP” switch.

The theft deterrent system includes the following features to help protect your vehicle from

theft.

Head Restraints

■ Vertical adjustment (front seats only)

To ra i se : push the head restraint upward.

To l o wer : push the head restraint down while

pressing the lock release button.

■ Folding (rear seats only)

Pull the lever.

Seat Belts

■ Seat belt guide (front)

When fastening a front seat belt, always ensure

that it passes through the seat belt guide.

■ Seat belt guide (rear)

If the shoulder belt sits close to the occupant's neck, secure the seat belt in the guide position.

Engine (ignition) Switch

■ Starting the engine

Make sure the parking brake is engaged and the

shift lever is in P.

Depress the brake pedal.

The “ENGINE START STOP” switch indi-

cator light turns green.

Press the “ENGINE START STOP” switch.

■ Stopping the engine

Engage the parking brake and shift the shift lever to P.

Press the “ENGINE START STOP” switch.

■ Changing power modes

To change power modes without turning on the engine, press the “ENGINE START STOP”

switch without depressing the brake pedal. The modes can be changed in the following

order:

With the electronic key on your person, the engine can be started by simply pressing the

“ENGINE START STOP” switch, while depressing the brake pedal.

(The mechanical key cannot be used to start the engine.)

Automatic Transmission

■ Shift positions

P Park*

The vehicle can only be shifted out of P when

the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in

IGNITION ON mode and the brake pedal is

depressed.

R Reverse

N Neutral (drive not engaged)

D Drive

*: The engine can only be started in P.

■ Changing shift ranges in the D position

Operating the shift paddle switches allows shift ranges to be selected to suit the driving con-

ditions.

Pull the “-” shift paddle switch toward you.

The indicator in the meter cluster will dis-

play the selected shift range.

Higher shift range:

Pull the “+” shift paddle switch toward you.

Lower shift range:

Pull the “-” shift paddle switch toward you.

Pulling and holding the “+” shift paddle switch for a certain period of time allows you to

return to normal D position driving. If the accelerator pedal is depressed for more than a

certain period of time in one range, shift range selection in the D position will be automati-

cally deactivated.

■ Changing shift ranges in the S position

Operating the shift lever or shift paddle switches allows shift ranges to be selected to suit the

driving conditions.

Shift the shift lever to S.

The indicator in the meter cluster will dis-

play the selected shift range.

Higher shift range:

Move the shift lever in the “+” direction or

pull the “+” shift paddle switch toward you.

Lower shift range:

Move the shift lever in the “-” direction or

pull the “-” shift paddle switch toward you.

■ Changing the display of trip information

Trip information items can be switched by press-

ing the DISP switch.

The multi-information display shows information about your vehicle, including the items

shown below.

■ When using intuitive parking assist or dynamic radar cruise control, the appropriate dis-

play is shown on the screen.

■ In the event that a problem is detected in any of the vehicle's systems, a warning message is

shown on the multi-information display.

Satellite Switches

The satellite switches can be used to change the

settings of the following items.

● Intuitive parking assist (if equipped)

● Tire pressure warning system initialization

● ID code selection for tire inflation pressure

warning system

● Vehicle speed indicator

● Tacho indicator

● Pre-collision braking function activate/deacti-

vate (if equipped)

● Front seat auto return function

■ Changing the ON/OFF settings

To cycle through the functions, press either the

left or right selector switch.

To change the settings, press the ON/OFF

button.

The satellite switches can be used to change the settings of various functions. Settings

are shown on the multi-information display.
