Please pay attention when positioning the AED Status sensor
base and the AED Status sensor calibration. It is mandatory to
calibrate the AED Status Sensor when installing or changing the
AED. In order to calibrate the sensor, the AED must show an
operational status.
These manipulations will define the reliability of the AED Status
Sensor measures.
Make sure the AED Status Sensor is placed correctly and is not
moving during the calibration phase
Please also make sure the AED Status Sensor is not exposed to
direct sunlight or very strong light source during calibration.
If exposed to strong light, measure cannot be reliable, and
erroneous results can be had.

Installation
Peel off the protection film off the base.
Position the base precisely on the AED Status indicator.
Press firmly the base against the AED.
Place the AED Status sensor on its base.

Activating the sensor
After having installed the magnetic base, plug the Aivia sensor using the following
instructions:
Pull the sensor off its base and connect the sensor
on its socket (see illustration on the right)
Once plugged, check the status LED , the proceed to calibrate the sensor.
o The LED blinks red/green during
approximately 3 seconds.

Calibration
Ensure that the AED equipped with its magnetic base is in working order, putting
the AED status sensor on its base requires a OK AED for calibration purposes.
Unplug then plug again the AED status sensor from its
socket. The LED will blink red/green during three seconds.
During this time, you must put the AED Status Sensor on
its base.
Check the AED status sensor LED :
o If the LED is blinking orange, calibration has
failed. (Sensor was not put onto the AED
into the 3 first seconds) In that case, pull the
AED from its base and restart the calibration
procedure.
o If the status LED is orange, then
after about a minute maximum
green, procedure has succeeded,
the sensor is now operational.
Note :
In order to calibrate the sensor, the AED must show an operational status.
The AED status sensor calibration is to be done at installation or if changing
the AED. Once sensor is calibrated, you can remove it from its support,
Calibration settings are memorized in the AED status sensor, even when
power is lost.

Operation
The AED status sensor LED allows you to see the different states of the AED.
You will find below the list of all the statuses and their signification (only valid
when sensor is positioned on its magnetic base).
Blinking RED/GREEN
This phase lasts for 3 seconds when the AED
status sensor starts. It indicates that the sensor is
ready to be calibrated. To do so, the sensor must
be put on this magnetic support during this time.
ORANGE
This phase indicates that the sensor is being
calibrated. Do not touch or move the sensor
during this phase, you would risk getting
unreliable measures.
GREEN
This phase indicates that the AED status sensor
is getting a correct working order information from
the AED. (Battery OK, AutoTest OK, …) For more
details, please check AED manual.
RED
This phase indicates that the AED status sensor
is getting a out of service working order
information from the AED, which may not function
correctly. For more details please check the AED
manual.
Blinking GREEN
During this phase, the sensor is analyzing the
AED State. This state will be triggered by a AED
status change (from OOS to OK) An analysis is
then launched in order to confirm the new AED
status. Once confirmed, AED Status sensor stops
blinking.
Blinking RED
During this phase, the sensor is analyzing the
AED State. This state will be triggered by a AED
status change (from OK to OOS) An analysis is
then launched in order to confirm the new AED
status. Once confirmed, AED Status sensor stops
blinking.
Blinking ORANGE
This phase indicates that the sensor is not in
working order. (re)calibrating is necessary.
