4. Interfaces Introduction
The interfaces of FODV301 are showed in the following picture.
1) LED indicator: it shows three kinds of connection status as below:
Blinks slowly and regularly: The system could not start up normally, please cut
off the power and then plug into the power to see if it works.
Blinks quickly: The system is starting up normally.
Keeps lighting: The transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal are
connected well and its ready to work.

2) Power interface: Micro-USB connector, which connects with a DC5V, 500mA
power supply.
3) Transmitting or receiving terminal: LC fiber connector, which connects with a
single fiber optical, supports single mode and multimode.
5. System Connection
Please connect reference to the following steps:
1) Connect FODV301T to the video source device by using a DVI cable to connect the
DVI port of each device.
2) If the DVI video signal source device can provide with DC 5V power (500mA), there
is no need to provide an external DC 5V power to the transmitter. If not, please
connect the power adapter (DC 5V) to FODV301T by using an USB power cord.
3) Connect FODV301R to an HD displayer by using a DVI cable to connect the DVI
port of each device.
4) Connect the power adapter (DC 5V) to FODV301R by using an USB power cord.
5) Use a LC multimode or single mode fiber to connect FODV301T to FODV301R.
6) When all connections are done, it is ready to work.

2) Press and hold on the EDID button no more than 9 seconds, until the LED indicator
starts blink.
Notice: If keep pushing the button for more than 9 seconds, the EDID data will be
reset to the factory default and the LED indicator keeps lighting.
3) Connect the DVI port of FODV301T to the displayer when the LED indicator blinks.
4) Then the EDID learning process is completed when the LED indicator keeps lighting.
5) After the LED indicator keeps lighting for more than 10 seconds, please cut off the
power of FODV301T and disconnect from the displayer.
8. Troubleshooting & Maintenance
1) Question: How to distinguish between the transmitting terminal of FODV301 and
the receiving terminal of FODV301, and what kind of device can be
connected to each terminal?
Answer: FODV301T is the transmitter, which can be connected to a video
source device (such as a PC, a DVD player etc.). And FODV301R is the
receiver, which can be connected to an HD displaying device (such as a
TV, a displayer, a projector etc.)
2) Question: What the maximum transmission distance in theory that FODV301
supports should be?
Answer: Transmitted by a single core fiber, the distance can be 10km via a
single mode fiber, and 300m via a multimode fiber.
3) Question: Can we use an USB power of the HD displayer to provide power supply
to FODV301R?
Answer: Yes, if the display provides with an enough power supply (DC 5V,
500mA).
Notice: When the displayer is in power saving mode, FODV301R may not work.
4) Question: Why there is no output image when the LED indicator keeps lighting?
Answer: a). Check if the DVI interfaces are connected well at the input end and
the output end.
b). HDCP is not supported in FODV301, if it is included in the source
device, there will be no output image.
