General information
Description of use
The PROXINETW2 burglar alarm control unit is designed to increa-
se security in residential and service environments.
Any installation and operation that differs from what is set
out in this manual is prohibited.
Security
If properly designed, the burglar alarm system guarantees a high
level of security for the environments it is protecting.
To ensure this, we need to follow certain rules:
Avoid disclosing access codes to unauthorised persons.
Do not use simple or easy-to-guess codes (dates of birth etc.).
All control units are produced with the default code “123456”.
Make sure that this code has been disabled. Do not leave the keys
to the system unattended.
In the event of faults or false alarms, contact your installer
as soon as possible. System maintenance must be carried out by
qualified and trusted persons (installers). Do not attempt to tamper
with parts of the system. As well as the risk of jeopardising ope-
ration, you may also access parts subject to hazardous electrical
voltage.

INSTALLER: the person/company responsible for the design, con-
struction and programming of the burglar alarm system.
USER: the person(s) using the burglar alarm system.

Alarm system
The burglar alarm system is a system composed of devices
(keypads, sirens, keys, sensors etc.) designed to increase the le-
vel of protection of the environment and to implement deterrent
operations (sirens) and communication operations (telephone calls,
SMSs, security companies etc.) if needed.
Installers are responsible for instructing users on how the
burglar alarm system works, on dividing up the areas and their use
and range, as well as on the function and use of scenarios.
Also make sure that the installer has completed the technical
data sheet for the system at the end of this manual.

The burglar alarm control unit is the heart of the system and inclu-
des a keypad with a display and acoustic signals. All information
and activities are available and can be managed locally.

Opening the control unit sets off an alarm.
Scenarios
The advantage of managing systems by means of scenarios is that
it simplifies arming for users, making operation secure and fast.
Scenarios are programmed by the installer and allow users to:
Set the arming status of the system.
Activate or deactivate outputs.
In order to use the scenarios, refer to the system mana-
gement chapters according to the device you are using (keypads,
readers etc.).

The system is divided up into areas and the areas into inputs. The
aim of this is to make it simple for users to manage system arming
and aid the identification of possible break-ins.

disarm the associated areas.
ii. if ARMING ONLY is shown, users can only arm the

disabled for remote control (telephone) of the burglar
alarm control unit.

User codes
Managing user codes
The user code is your PERSONAL access key for managing the
system from the keypad. Depending on the properties of the code,
defined during installation, users can:
Launch scenarios to arm/disarm areas from keypads,
touchscreen or phones.
Access the User Menu from the keypad display, from
which they can manage the system as summarised in the
“User Menu Structure” chapter.
For any operation on the system, you need to enter the User Code
(if fewer than 6 digits, add (*)) at the end then confirm by pressing
(*).
N.B. In all subsequent instructions, this action will always be called:
“enter the user menu”.

Edit it (recommended).
View its properties.
Edit its description.
Do not use simple or easy-to-guess codes (dates of birth

Make sure that this code has been disabled (to check, simply enter
the code on the keypad and if the message INCORRECT CODE appears,
this means that the code has been disabled.
The installer is responsible for instructing the user on user

Managing codes of other users
Some user codes can manage user codes defined as public. These
codes can manage all other system user codes (family, employees,
residents, security). This chapter explains the management of the
codes of other users who use the system (children, housekeepers,
employees, security etc.). The properties of the codes are defined
in the design phase by the installer.
Through the MANAGEMENT 06 OTHER CODES menu, you can:
Create/delete a code.
Enable/disable an existing code.
Change the code password.
View its properties.
Edit the description of the code
Do not use simple or easy-to-guess codes (dates of birth
etc.).
If this menu heading is not visible, it means that the User
Code with which you entered the menu is not enabled
for this management. Contact your installer if you want
to be enabled.
The installer is responsible for instructing the user on user
code properties and management.
CREATING CODES
To create a code for another user, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu.
2. Use ()/() to select MANAGEMENT 06 OTHER CODES and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select the user code and press (*) (XXX indicates
the user code index; the [#] symbol indicates that the code is
enabled, [-] indicates that the code is disabled).
4. If the code does not exist, use ()/() to select CREATE and
press (*).
5. Enter the new code and confirm with (*) (valid codes are 4, 5
and 6 digits long).
6. Repeat the new code and confirm with (*).
7. If the code has been accepted, the message CODE ACCEPTED ap-
pears.
8. Press (#) to exit and return to the previous menus.
The create operation does not alter the properties of the code.
Contact your installer if you want to change the properties.

Transponder keys
The transponder key is the access key for system management via
a transponder reader. The transponder key reader may be present
on certain models of keypad. It contains no batteries and must first
be configured by the installer in order to operate.
Checking the key
If you are in possession of a key of which you do not know the
origin, you can use the User Menu to check whose it is. All the sy-
stem keys are identified by the control unit via a unique code and a
description viewable via the keypad display.
Do not leave transponder keys unattended. If lost, contact your
installer immediately.
IDENTIFYING KEYS
To identify a key, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu.
2. Use ()/() to select KEYS 07 and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select CHECK KEY and press (*).
4. Move the key towards the reader until the LEDs start to flash
and the display shows KEY READ SEARCH IN PROGRESS.
5. The display shows the index and key description. If the key
does not belong to the reader, the display shows INVALID KEY.
6. Press (#) to exit and return to the previous menus.

Managing keys
Key management can be performed by the user via the local keypad
or a keypad connected to a bus. The properties are, however set
directly by the installer (in order to prevent incorrect settings that
are not compatible with the system).
Via the User Menu, you can:
Create/delete a key.
Enable/disable an existing key.
Replace a lost key.
View its properties.
Edit its description.
All other Enable/Disable/Create/Delete operations will be recorded
for security purposes on the event log.
CREATING KEYS
The create operation does not alter the properties of the key.
Contact your installer if you want to change the properties.
To create a key, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu.
2. Use ()/() to select KEYS 07 and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select KEYS MANAGEMENT and press (*).
4. Use ()/() to select the key and press (*) (the [#] symbol me-
ans key enabled, [-] means key disabled; XXX indicates the key
index).
5. Use ()/() to select CREATE and press (*).
6. The display shows KEY READING IN PROGRESS; bring the key to be
stored close to a reader and wait for the reader to flash and
then go off. During this phase, the keypad checks the key and
if the result is positive, it beeps and the LEDs begin flashing.
7. Press (#) to finish.

Managing the system using the KEYPAD
LCD keypad
The LCD keypad is the most comprehensive control and display
component in the burglar alarm system. It is positioned on control
unit container (local keypad). The system can also be operated re-
motely from a keypad connected to the bus or wireless keypads.
It allows users to:
Launch arming and disarming scenarios.
Monitor the system status through visual and acoustic signals.
Access the user menu to edit their profile and view system
events.
KEYPAD DISPLAY
The display consists of two lines of 16 graphic characters. At rest,
the keypad goes into “Power saving” mode, decreasing the light
intensity after a set time.

SYSTEM STATUS ALERTS
The system status alerts behave according to installer program-
ming.
Depending on installer programming, the display can be kept always
visible (LEDs and display visible) or masked for improved safety (no
system status information given to unauthorised persons). The yel-
low fault LED remains visible if there is an event to display.
Following the activation of a scenario or any other system mana-
gement activity, after a programmed time, all the other LED and
display alerts go off.

Check the inputs open when the scenario is

Indicates that there are NO open inputs. The sy-
stem can be turned on without problems.

Indicates that the managed areas are off (sy-
stem off).
Indicates that all the managed areas are on (sy-
stem fully on).
Indicates that at least one managed area is on
(system partially on).
(red)
Indicates that the managed areas are NOT in
alarm mode.
Indicates that at least one managed area is in
alarm mode (system in alarm mode).
Indicates that the associated system has de-
tected an alarm that has been muted. See the
event list for the alarm log.
(yellow)
Indicates that there are no faults on the system.
Indicates that there is a fault.
When the ‘Status masking’ function is active,
this indicates the presence of an event to di-
splay.
It may indicate that: the mains power supply
(230 V AC) is absent; the battery of a radio pe-
ripheral device needs to be replaced; a fuse
needs to be replaced; a fault input is unbalan-
ced; the clock has not been initialised; there is
a problem on the PSTN or GSM line; the GSM
module SIM has expired.
Indicates that the control unit battery needs to
be replaced
= Off | = On | = Flashing
The reporting of events that occur at the same time follows
the following priority: alarms, exit times, faults. The on-screen di-
splay occurs cyclically.
On some models of keypad, below the display, there are 16 num-
bers that facilitate the interpretation of the second line of the di-
splay, with the following key:
# = area armed;
U = area being armed (exit time countdown under way);
X = area being armed but not ready for arming due to the present
of open inputs;
P = area partially armed (there is at least one input associated with
the area that is temporarily excluded);
R = area in active patrol mode;
N = disarmed area that is not ready;
- = area off;
= area not managed by the keypad.
Example: reading the display 󱎵 showing:
Areas managed: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
Areas not managed: 14, 15, 16.
Areas armed: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Areas being armed: 6, 7, 8.
Areas partially armed: 9.
Areas not ready: 6, 7, 8.

Keys Functions
The alphanumeric keys allow users to enter codes,
select the areas being armed and edit the para-
meters.
Menu navigation and selection keys.
Parameter editing keys.
After entering the code, users gain access to the
User Menu. If pressed for more than 5 seconds, it
allows access to the keypad menu.
Scenario launch keys.
System shutdown key.
KEYPAD MENU
The Keypad Menu is independent from the control unit menu and
allows users to set various keypad characteristics such as the lan-
guage, the contrast and brightness of the display, the illumination
of the keys and the system status LEDs, and other functions as
shown in the table below.
The LEARNING menu is only available on radio keypads.

To enter the Keypad Menu, press and hold for a few seconds,
until the KEYPAD LANGUAGE screen appears on the display. Then use
the keys to navigate and select as shown.
KEYPAD CLEANING enables users to clean the keypad safely. Entering
the values with 󰯯, a 30-second countdown begins, during which
the keypad is not active. At the end, it automatically returns to the
menu.
KEYPAD VERSION allows users to view the software version of the
keypad only.
Press [#] twice in a row to exit the Keypad Menu. After XX seconds
have passed with no operation, the keypad enters STANDBY mode
and after a further xx seconds, it automatically exits the Keypad
Menu.

Arming via scenarios
Areas are only armed when scenarios are launched. The (A), (B)
and (C) keys are associated with the scenarios.
The installer is responsible for instructing the user on the
scenarios that can be managed from the keypads (each keypad
may also have different scenarios):
ARMING WITH NO INPUTS OPEN
To launch an arming scenario, you must:
1. Enter the User Code on the keypad (required if keys (A), (B)
and (C) are not enabled for rapid arming with no code).
2. Select the scenario to be launched by pressing (A), (B) or (C).
3. If the scenario is not one of the top three, scroll using ()/()
and selected the desired scenario.
4. If the scenario has open inputs, the list of those open will scroll
on second line of the display (in this case, see the chapter
ARMING WITH OPEN INPUTS).
5. Press (A) to launch the selected scenario.
6. During the exit time, the keypad will emit a continuous sound.
Areas being armed are marked by the letter U .
7. To force area arming, cancelling the exit time, press (A) again.
8. Once arming is complete, the keypad will stop making a sound
and the armed areas will be marked with #.
At the end of the exit time, the keypad may appear in two ways:
All areas armed: ###### with LED on steady.
Some areas armed: ####-- with LED flashing.

ARMING WITH INPUTS OPEN
During normal operation, it may be possible that we go to launch
an arming scenario with open inputs (front door, skylight, overhead
door etc.). Some of these inputs will close automatically during the
exit time (front door, overhead door), while others (skylight) will re-
main open, thus preventing the associated area from being armed.
When launching a scenario, before confirming the launch, open
inputs are displayed, making it possible to exclude certain ones
temporarily.
Each area has its own exit time. Each area time only be-
gins when the last open input associated with the area is closed.
Unless you program the arming of an area in forced mode (the exit
time counts down regardless of the presence of open inputs) if you
leave the house while an input is open, the associated area will
never be armed.
If the code entered does not manage any areas of the
scenario, this will not be armed.
If the PRE-ENABLE TEST has been enabled in the technical
menu in SPECIAL FUNCTIONS, in the event of existing system anomalies
(e.g. no phone line, no communication with at least one system
device etc.) the keypad will display CONTINUE?. Press (#) to abandon
system arming. Press (*) to arm the system anyway, memorising
the fact that forcing took place in the event log.
If the code is not entered completely within 60 secon-
ds, the control unit will record it as a false code. After entering
an incomplete or incorrect code 5 times in a row, the keypad will
be disabled for 90 seconds. If 20 incomplete or incorrect codes
are entered in a row (4 groups of 5 codes with 90 second pauses
between them) the control unit will generate a tampering alarm.
To launch an arming scenario with open inputs, you must:
1. Enter the User Code on the keypad (required if keys (A), (B)
and (C) are not enabled for rapid arming with no code).
2. Select the scenario to be launched by pressing (A), (B) or (C).
3. If the scenario is not one of the top three, scroll using ()/()
and selected the desired scenario.
4. If the scenario to be launched has open inputs, a list of the
open inputs (e.g. KITCHEN WINDOW) appears on the second line of
the display and will be display cyclically.
5. To temporarily exclude an input, you must:
a. Press (*) on viewing the open input. If AL. appears to the
right of the first line, this means that the input is open; OK
appears if the input is closed and ES. appears if the input
is excluded.
b. Use (*) to exclude or re-include the open input.
c. Use ()/() to view the status of the other inputs.
d. Press (#) to go back to the scenario.
6. Press (A) to launch the selected scenario. The exit time be-
gins. The areas in this status will be marked with the letter U
and the keypad will emit a continuous sound. To force area
arming, cancelling the exit time, press (A) again.

7. If other inputs are open (e.g. front door), the areas they belong
to will be marked by the letter X and the keypad will emit an
intermittent sound. The areas in question will never be armed
unless the inputs still open are excluded.
8. To exclude the inputs that are still open, press (A). The messa-
ge EXCLUDE INPUTS ? appears. Use (*) to confirm the start of the
exit time, temporarily excluding all the open inputs ( always
check the open inputs before pressing (*)).
9. Once arming is complete, the keypad will stop making a sound
and the armed areas will be marked with #, white the area
with the excluded input will be marked with P .
At the end of the exit time, the keypad may appear in two ways:
All areas armed: #P#### with LED flashing.
Some areas armed: #P##-- with LED flashing.
All the temporarily excluded inputs will be re-included when
the associates areas are disarmed.

The temporary exclusion of inputs is stored in the event
log. This makes it possible to identify the user who performed the
exclusion.
Disarming
Disarming can be performed, following an authorisation code, both
using (D) and from a scenario (configured especially).
If the code entered is not enabled at disarming, or if it does not
manage certain areas of the keypad, these will not be disarmed.
To disarm the system, you must:
1. Enter the User Code on the keypad.
2. Press (D) to start disarming.
3. If the User Code is enabled at disarming, the common areas
associated with the code and the keypad will be disarmed.

Partial area arming
The partial arming of areas during the arming stage can take place
both while launching scenarios and from the User Menu. Its purpo-
se is to enable users to arm or disarm the relevant areas with total
freedom without influencing the status of other areas.
PARTIAL AREA ARMING FROM SCENARIO
In order to partially arm the areas armed by a scenario, you must:
1. Enter the User Code on the keypad (required if keys (A), (B)

PARTIAL AREA ARMING FROM USER MENU
In order to partially arm the areas from the user menu, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu (User Code + (*)).
2. Use ()/() to select ARMINGS 01 and press (*).
3. The areas armed under the current system status are marked
with # .
4. Using (1) to (9), or (0) + (0) ... (6) from those from 10 to 16,
you can modify the new system status.
5. The example shows (2) being pressed to disarm the perimeter
area.
6. A short message shows the clear description of the area.
7. The example shows (5) being pressed to arm the night area.
8. A short message shows the clear description of the area.
9. Press (A) to launch the new system configuration.

Burglar alarm
A burglar alarm is set off when a (volumetric) presence detector or
an opening detector (contacts on the windows and doors) detects
an alarm status. Detection takes place if the relevant area is armed
(a scenario has been launched that arms the area with which the
input is associated).
All the audible warning devices will sound for a maximum
time set by the installer, unless a new alarm is detected which will
set them off again.
In the event of an intrusion, the red alarm LED will light up
and, if enabled, the buzzer will be activated for the set time. When
the buzzer stops sounding, the red alarm LED will start flashing.
The telephone alerts, both voice and SMS, can be launched with a
delay of a few seconds (maximum 255 seconds), according to the
installer setup.
SILENCING AN ALARM
To silence an alarm, you must enter your User Code on the control
unit keypad, on an LCD keypad and, according to the properties as-
signed to the code, you can silence the sirens and block the phone
calls by pressing (#), or disarm the system by pressing (D).
Once the system has been switched off, the keypad will show the
input where the alarm was triggered (e.g. KITCHEN WINDOW) and the
red LED will keep flashing.

The User Code properties are set by the installer. Make sure
installers explain the limits and functionalities of the code in the
event of an alarm.
Fault
A fault may be caused by defective batteries (in the control unit, the
auxiliary power supplies or the radio devices) or by the lack of 230 V
AC power (from the main line or from the auxiliary power supplies).
The fault is not reported immediately, but only after a time
set by the installer. This is to avoid unnecessary alerts in the event
of voltage fluctuations or temporary interruptions.
The telephone alerts, both voice and SMS, can be launched with a
delay of a few seconds (maximum 255 seconds), according to the
installer setup.
The fault is not reported by the readers.
Opening the control unit or any of its components sets off the
alarm.
System maintenance should only be carried out by qualified
personnel. Danger of electrocution due to live parts inside the con-
trol unit.
DEALING WITH A FAULT
After the fault has been repaired, in order to cancel the alert
and turn off the yellow fault LED, follow the instructions given in
RESETTING THE ALARM LOG
in the previous chapter.
To stop the LEDs from flashing (without deleting the Event record),
you must enter the User Code again, then press (A) and (#); or ...

Events
Each system event is logged in the control unit database.
The log contains a limited number of events (see control unit cha-
racteristics) and, if the limit is reached, each new event deletes the
oldest one. The event log remains even when the control unit is not
powered.
All the events in the log can be accessed using the display keypad,
the colour touchscreen or the mobile app.
A time and date are associated with each stored event.
The types of event are as follows:

Postponement
Postponement allows you to delay a programmed arming to beyond
the set time. This function is normally used in companies where
employees remain beyond the time limit programmed for automatic
system arming.
To postpone the first programmed arming, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu (User Code + (*)).
2. Use ()/() to select POSTPONE 02 and press (*).
3. The first time it is access during the day, the postponement
shows --:--, or it shows the time from which the postponable
actions will be postponed (see example).
4. Use ()/() to increase or decrease this time (postponement).
5. Press (*) to confirm or (#) to cancel.

Only arming programmed as “POSTPONABLE” can be
postponed. To edit this feature, contact your system installer.
The time displayed is that of the first programmed (postpo-
nable) arming after the access time to the POSTPONE 02 menu.
EXAMPLE:
It is 17:30 and the first programmed postponable action is set for
18:30 with the launch of the CLOSE COMPANY scenario.
If you wish to delay this launch until 18:45, enter the User Menu
(User Code + (*)), select POSTPONE 02 and press (*). Then press ()
on the next screen END POST. 18:30 until it reaches 18:45. Confirm by
pressing (*) or cancel by pressing (#).
Telephony
When using the GSM phone line (only for a pay-as-you-go contract)
to manage telephone calls or remote control, it is useful be able to
check the remaining credit on the SIM directly from the keypad.
REMAINING SIM CREDIT
To view the remaining SIM credit, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu (User Code + (*)).
2. Use ()/() to select TELEPHONY 04 and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select GSM SIM CREDIT and press (*).
4. Use ()/() to select LAST REMAINING GSM SIM CREDIT and press (*).
The last remaining credit message received from the operator
is displayed.
5. If no message is present, or in order to check further, use ()/
() to select REQUEST GSM SIM CREDIT and press (*). The old SMS
received is deleted and a request is submitted to the operator.
6. To view the new credit, select LAST REMAINING GSM SIM CREDIT and
press (*).
7. Press (#) to return to the previous menus.

To set the SIM expiration, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu (User Code + (*)).
2. Use ()/() to select TELEPHONY 04 and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select SIM EXPIRATION and press (*).
4. Use ()/() to set in how many days the control unit should
report the expiration of the SIM (0..365) and then press (*)
(the control unit will count down the days, until reaching zero

A SIM normally expires 365 days after activation, and is re-
newed for a further 365 days each time you add credit.
Once the countdown has ended, the fault LED lights
up on the keypad. When the control unit is off, the message
GSM SIM EXPIRAT. ANOMALY is shown on the keypad display. If the te-
lephones associated with the residual credit have had telephone
alerts set on them, the SMS is sent or the associated phone call
is made. To cancel the display on the keypads, simply enter the
SIM EXPIRATION menu and set a new countdown or exit the menu.
GSM SIGNAL STRENGTH
To test the GSM signal strength, you must
1. Enter the User Menu (User Code + (*)).
2. Use ()/() to select TELEPHONY 04 and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select GSM FIELD STRENGTH and press (*). The di-
splay will show the strength of the detected signal according
to the following key:
---- = no signal
#--- = low signal
##-- = fair signal
###- = good signal
#### = excellent signal
4. Press (#) to return to the previous menus.

Outputs
The alarm system may allow the management of outputs (com-
mands) in order to implement simple automations.
There are two types of output:
Stable: these are outputs which, if set to ON, only go back
to OFF if commanded to do so by the user or after a cer-
tain event programmed by the installer.
Pulse: these are outputs which, if set to ON, go back to
OFF after a time set by the installer.
The installer is responsible for instructing users on how to
use the controllable outputs.
To arm or disarm an output, you must:
1. Enter the User Menu (User Code + (*)).
2. Use ()/() to select OUTPUTS 09 and press (*).
3. Use ()/() to select the output you want to arm.
