Passworddialog,whichopenswhentheproductisaccessedforthersttime.

Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS

certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The

HTTPScerticateensuresencryptedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPSonpage43.

Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe

TosetthepasswordviaastandardHTTPconnection,enteritdirectlyinthedialog.

TosetthepasswordviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,followthesesteps:

Atemporarycerticate(validforoneyear)iscreated,enablingencryptionofalltrafctoandfromtheproduct,andthe

passwordcannowbesetsecurely.

TheManualTriggerisusedtotriggeranactionrulefromtheLiveViewpage.Themanualtriggercanforexamplebeusedto

validateactionsduringproductinstallationandconguration.

Tocongurethemanualtrigger:

1.GotoSetup>Events.

2.ClickAddtoaddanewactionrule.

3.FromtheTriggerdrop-downlist,selectInputSignal.

4.Fromtheseconddrop-downlist,selectManualTrigger.

5.Selectthedesiredactionandconguretheothersettingsasrequired.

PTZControls

TheLiveViewpagealsodisplaysPan/Tilt/Zoom(PTZ)controls.Theadministratorcanenable/disablecontrolsforspeciedusersunder

SystemOptions>Security>Users.

WiththePTZControlQueueenabledthetimeeachuserisincontrolofthePTZsettingsislimited.Clickthebuttonstorequestor

releasecontrolofthePTZcontrols.ThePTZControlQueueissetupunderPTZ>ControlQueue.

ClicktheEmulatejoystickmodebuttonandclickintheimagetomovethecameraviewinthedirectionofthe

mousepointer.

ClicktheCentermodebuttonandclickintheimagetocenterthecameraviewonthatposition.

Thecentermodebuttoncouldalsobeusedtozoominonaspecicarea.Clickintheimageanddragtodrawa

rectanglesurroundingtheareatobemagnied.Tozoomout,rotatethemousewheel.

PanandTiltbars–Usethearrowstopanandtiltthecameraview,orclickonapositiononthebartosteerthecameraviewto

thatposition.

Zoombar–Usethearrowstozoominandout,orclickonapositiononthebartozoomtothatposition.

Focusbar–Usethearrowstofocusthecamera,orclickonapositiononthebartosetthefocusposition.Usingthefocusbarwill

disabletheproduct’sautofocus.Tore-enable,usethePTZcontrolpanelwhichisopenedbyclickingtheCtrlpanelbutton(seeabove).

Irisbar–Clickonapositiontosetamanualexposureleveltomaketheimagebrighterordarker.Thiswilldisableautoiris(automatic

exposure)andsetxedlevelsoniris,gainandshutterspeed.Tore-enableautoiris,usethePTZcontrolpanelwhichisopenedby

clickingtheCtrlpanelbutton(seeabove).Ifautoirisisenabled,AutoisvisiblenexttotheIrisbarbar.

orkeeprecordingsforalongertime.

Toreducethebitrate,Zipstreamreducesthenumberofbitsintheareasoftheimagethatarelessinterestingfromavideo

surveillanceperspective,forexamplethebackground.Imagedetailsthatareimportantforforensicvideoanalysis,forexamplefaces

andlicenseplates,arepreservedwithenoughnumberofbits.

requirementsfortheexposuresettingandwishtolockit.Selectthedesiredexposuretimefromthedrop-downlist.

Maxexposuretime-Shutterspeed,alsocalled‘exposuretime’,standsforthelengthoftimethecamerashutterisopen,thereby

exposingthecamerasensortolight.Ifshutterspeedisfastitcanfreezeactioneffectively.Ifshutterspeedisslow,itcancause

movingobjectstoappearblurred.Decreasingtheexposuretimewillreducemotionblur.

TheimageisshowninblackandwhitewhentheIRcutlterisoff.SettheIRcutltertoAutotoautomaticallyswitchbetween

OnandOffaccordingtothelightingconditions.

ImageSettings

Important

Theautofocusbehaviorisaffectedbyfactorssuchaslightconditions,contrastsinthescene,andobjectsmovinginandout.In

theseconditionsorscenes,amanualfocuscouldbepreferabletoenhanceperformanceandallowthecameratofocusfaster.

Autofocusenabled-Autofocusenablesthecameratofocusalthoughthedistancetodifferentobjectsofinterestisconstantly

changing.Wheneverthecamera’span/tilt/zoompositionischanged,theautofocusperformsasearchtondtheidealfocuspoint.

Automaticfocusingisenabledbydefault.Ifthefocuspositionischangedmanuallyusingthefocusbar,autofocuswillbedisabled

evenifenabledinImageSettings.Inthiscase,usethePTZcontrolpaneltoenableautofocus,seepage10.Ifrequired,thefocus

controlcanbedisabledunderPTZ>Advanced>Controls.

ImagefreezeonPTZ-SelectAllmovementstofreezetheimagewhilethecameraismovingduringapan,tiltorzoomoperation.

Oncethecamerareachesitsnewposition,theviewfromthatpositionisshown.Presetsfreezestheimageonlywhenthecamera

movesbetweenpresetpositions.
