about seng up the frame.
To install the carriage and machine on the frame
1. Place the carriage on the table rails, ensuring
that the stch regulator faces the back of the
frame.
2. Place the machine on the carriage.
U CAUTION: The Baby Lock Coronet is heavy.
Never aempt to li it alone. Always use
two people when liing. Always li from

3. Plug the ribbon cable from the stch regulator
connector at the back of the machine (see Rear
View on the previous page, #30) into the stch
regulator on the carriage.
IMPORTANT: If you ever need to remove the machine from the carriage, disconnect the ribbon
cable from the stch regulator at the back of the carriage. Failure to unplug the cable when
removing the machine from the carriage could result in damage to the cable, encoders, and
carriage.

For more informaon, see Power Switch in the Using Your Machine secon of this manual.
NOTE: Make sure that the machine is o before plugging into power source. The rear power switch
should be in the 0, or o, posion.

Baby Lock Coronet User Manual | 15
5. Aer the bolts are in place, plug the cable into
the USB-style connecon located on the front-
le side of the machine.
6. Remove the protecve plasc from the touch-screen display before using.
To use the handlebar buons

electrical outlet.
U CAUTION: All power to the machine must
be turned o when installing the rear

damage to the machine.
2. The rear handlebars come mounted to a bracket. Line up the two holes in the bracket with those on
the rear of the machine.
16 | www.babylock.com
3. Slide the two bolts into holes unl they stop. Hand ghten, and then use the 4 mm wrench to securely
fasten the handles to the back of the machine.
4. Aer the two bolts are in place, plug the small connector end of the cable into the port on the le side
of the display. Push the plug securely into place.
5. Securely plug the other end of the cable into the port on the back of the machine below
the handlebars.
NOTE: See the instrucons that accompany the Rear Handlebars and Display.
IMPORTANT: Aer the rear handlebars have been completely installed and plugged in, test them by
turning on the Baby Lock Coronet and looking at the rear display. If nothing appears on the screen,
check that both the front and rear handlebar cables are plugged in securely, that your machine is
turned on, and that the power cord is plugged into the machine as well as a power source.
Thread Antennae
To install the thread antennae
1. Locate the threaded hole on top of the machine by
the handwheel.
2. The thread antennae comes with a washer and a
nut. Remove the nut and washer, replace the nut
onto the antennae for two or three turns.
3. Place the washer on the hole and insert the thread
antennae. The washer protects the painted surface
when the nut is ghtened.
4. Turn the thread antennae clockwise several
revoluons, stopping when the antennae eyelets are
posioned directly over the spool pins.
5. Tighten the nut to secure the antennae to the
machine.
Baby Lock Coronet User Manual | 17
Oponal Accessory: Horizontal Spool Pin
An oponal horizontal spool pin is available for metallic and specialty threads wound on a spool
(not a cone).
To install the oponal horizontal spool pin
1. Remove the nut and washer from the post.
Place washer over the threaded hole on the top
of machine.
2. Replace nut and screw the post into the
threaded hole. Tighten the nut to secure.
3. Place the clamp on the post and place
remaining pin in the clamp. Tighten the screw
to hold in place.
4. Elevate the end of the pin slightly above horizontal to keep spool from falling o.
5. Thread the machine beginning at horizontal spool pin, bypassing the thread antenna. When using
delicate threads with the Horizontal Spool Pin, skip thread guide A. Thread the top hole only of the
three-hole thread guide B, back to front. (See Right side view, items 2 and 3.)
6. Connue threading the machine as described in steps 3 through 6 in the secon named Threading
Your Machine later in this manual.

Oponal Accessory: Ruler Base
If you plan to use rulers and templates with the Baby Lock Coronet, you need to purchase the ruler base to
give you a large, stable surface on which to rest the ruler or template. The ruler base, rulers, and templates
are oponal accessories. Please see your authorized Baby Lock retailer.
To install the oponal ruler base
1. Starng with the le side, place the ruler base at an angle
so that the le holes on the base t onto the notches on
the machine.
2. Lightly ex the right side of the ruler base so that it falls
into place.
To remove the ruler base
Start by lightly liing the right side of the ruler base o of
the notches on the machine; then remove the le side.
To use rulers and templates with your quilng machine
U CAUTION: Use only one-quarter inch thick rulers and templates with your machine. Do not use
rotary-cung rulers as they are too thin and can easily slip under the hopping foot. Always use a
ruler base or extended table to stabilize the ruler.
Keep the ruler at and quilt only where you are securely holding the ruler. Avoid losing control by walking
your hand along the ruler or stopping and reposioning your hand and the ruler.
Apply gentle three-point pressure to the ruler, as follows.
1. Press the ruler against any side of the hopping foot.
2. Press machine against ruler.
3. Press ruler against ruler base with only as much pressure as is necessary to keep the ruler from
slipping. Too much pressure will keep the machine from moving.
The machine’s hopping foot stches a quilng line that is a quarter inch away from the ruler edge. The
markings on all Baby Lock rulers take this into consideraon.
NOTE: Set the machine to stop in the needle-down posion to keep the machine from moving while
making adjustments with the ruler.
