This guide provides you with the information you
need to get started. For more information and
additional support, please visit
metropcs.com where you can:
Register via the Manage & Pay tab to check
your minutes, pay your bill, upgrade your
phone, and change your rate plan.
Get support via the Support option.
Note: Devices and software are constantly
evolvingthe screen images and icons you
see here are for reference only.
Note: This device should only be used with
firmware versions that have been approved
for use by MetroPCS and the device
manufacturer. If unauthorized firmware is
placed on the device, it will not function.

Device Setup
Install the SIM Card
The Samsung Galaxy S 6 has a smaller, slimmer
SIM card. Your old SIM card will not work in this
device. Visit a MetroPCS store or call MetroPCS
customer support at 1-888-Metro-8 for your new
SIM card.
We recommend that you back up any contacts
you saved to the SIM card, using Gmail or other
options. For step-by-step instructions please,
visit a MetroPCS store or call MetroPCS customer
support at 1-888-Metro-8.

Charge the Device
Before turning on your phone, charge it fully.
Your phone comes with an Adaptive Fast
Charging charger and a USB cable. Plug the
smaller end of the cable into the USB charger
port on your phone and the other end into the
charger. Then plug the charger into an electrical
outlet to charge the phone.
Warning: Please use only Samsung-approved
charging devices. Improper handling of
the charging port, as well as the use of an
incompatible charger, may cause damage to
your device and void the warranty.

Turn the Phone On and Off
To turn On, press and hold the
Power/Lock key.
To turn Off, press and hold the
Power/Lock key, then follow
the prompts.
Lock and Unlock the Screen
Use your device’s screen lock features to secure
your device.
To Lock, press the Power/Lock key.
To Unlock, press the Power/Lock key, and
then swipe your finger across the screen.
Configure the Device
1. Select a language and tap START or
ACCESSIBILITY.
2. Follow the prompts to complete the
setup process.

Answer a Call
At the incoming call screen, touch and
slide Answer in any direction to
answer the call.
End a Call
From within an active call, tap
End call.
Reject a Call
At the incoming call screen, touch and
slide Reject in any direction to route
the call to your voicemail.
Wi-Fi Calling
Wi-Fi
Calling allows you to make and receive
phone calls and messages over a Wi-Fi
connection.
Important! You must have an E911 address
registered with your account in order to use
Wi-Fi Calling. You can register an E911 address
via the myMetro
®
Android
app that is either
preinstalled on your phone, or available for
download from the Google Play
store. If you do
not have an Android smartphone, you can call
611 to update the address.

Enable Wi-Fi Calling
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

2. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling slider to toggle off the
feature. Tap it again to activate and register
your device with the network.
3. Conrm that Wi-Fi is connected and
Wi-Fi Calling Ready displays in the
Status Bar.

1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

Voicemail
Set Up Voicemail
1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Touch and hold .
3. Follow the prompts to set up your mail box.
Access Voicemail
1. From the Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Touch and hold .
Visual Voicemail
View a list of people who left a voicemail
message, and listen to messages in any order
directly from the device, without calling
Voicemail.
Initial Configuration and Setup
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

2. Read the information and follow the
setup instructions.
3. Tap an on-screen voicemail message to play
it back.
Delete Visual Voicemail Messages
1. From the Visual Voicemail application
screen, tap the voicemail message you want
to delete.

Create a New Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
2. Tap Add New Contacts.
3. Tap a destination type.
4. Enter the desired information.
5. Tap SAVE to store the new entry.
Add a Number to an Existing Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
2. Tap a contact name from the list and
tap EDIT.
3. Tap within the phone number area and
enter a new phone number.
4. Tap SAVE to complete and store the new
entry.
Delete an Existing Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
2. Touch and hold a contact name from the list
and tap DELETE.

Create and Send a Message
1. From the Home screen, tap Messages.
2. Tap to compose a message.
3. Enter either the recipients phone number,
or e-mail address.
4. Tap the Enter message eld and use the
keypad to enter a message.
Tap Attach and select a file type.
Tap Emoticons to choose an
emoticon.
5. Review your message and tap .

Gmail
Before you can access Google
applications,
you must rst sign in to or create a new Gmail
account.
From the Home screen, tap Google folder

Tap Add an email address to create a
new account or to log into an existing
Gmail account.
Tap TAKE ME TO GMAIL if you have an
account set up on your device.
Setting Up Your Email Accounts
Check email on the go with popular
Internet-based email accounts.
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

2. Enter your email address and password into
the appropriate elds, and then tap SIGN IN.
3. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.
4. Tap DONE to store the new account.

Connections
Connect to Bluetooth
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

Bluetooth.
2. Touch and slide the Bluetooth
slider to the
right to turn it on.
3. Tap a device from the list to initiate pairing.
4. Enter the passkey/PIN code, if needed, and
then tap OK.
5. Once successfully paired to an external
device, appears within the Status area.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

Wi-Fi.
2. Touch and slide the Wi-Fi slider to the right
to turn it on.
3. Tap a network to connect and enter the
password if prompted. When connected,
you will see in the Status bar.

Android Beam
Beam large les that cannot be sent via email
or text to another compatible device that is in
direct contact.
Activate Android Beam
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

NFC and payment.
2. Tap NFC and verify that the NFC feature is
active.
3. If not already active, tap the Android Beam
eld and, in a single motion, touch and slide
it to the right to turn it on.
4. Complete the transfer process between the
two NFC-enabled devices by placing them
back-to-back. This feature can come in very
handy to quickly share pictures between
users with compatible Android Beam
devices.

Mobile Hotspot
Turn your device into a Wi-Fi Hotspot.
Note: The feature works best when used in
conjunction with 4G/LTE
data services. You
must have qualifying service on your account in
order to use the Mobile Hotspot.
Activate the Smartphone Mobile Hotspot
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps

Mobile Hotspot and
Tethering
g
Mobile Hotspot.
2. Touch and slide the On/Off slider to turn it
on.
3. Edit the Network name eld to create a new
Network SSID name.
4. Enable the Broadcast network name (SSID)
eld to broadcast your SSID name to nearby
devices.
5. Verify that the Security eld is set to
WPA2 PSK.
6. Enter a new password, and then tap SAVE to
store the new settings.
7. Conrm that the Mobile Hotspot active icon
appears at the top of the screen.
Note: It is recommended that you maintain a
secure connection by using a password.

Change the Mobile Hotspot Password
1. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, tap
Mobile Hotspot

Mobile Hotspot.
2. With security enabled, delete the previous
password and enter a new one into the
Password eld.
3. Tap SAVE to store the new settings.
Note: Using your 4G/LTE service and
Smartphone Mobile Hotspot drains your
phone’s battery. To keep using the phone as
a hotspot, it should be connected to a power
supply.
USB Tethering
Share your device’s mobile data connection via a
direct USB connection between your device and
a single computer.
