AGI MKX2/X2 10"/13" Series Low Profile Hopper

This hopper is designed to be used with AGI Westfield MKX² 10"/13" Series, AGI Westfield X² 10"/13" Series, AGI X² 10"/13" Series, AGI Hutchinson HX² 10"/13" Series, and AGI Mayrath HX² 10"/13" Series portable grain augers. It is a low-profile hopper that can be used to load grain into the auger. The hopper has a capacity of 50 bushels (18.2 cubic meters). It is constructed of galvanized steel and has a powder-coat finish. The hopper has a swing-away design that allows for easy access to the auger.

Installation Instructions

Pre-Installation Instructions

1. Park the auger on level ground. Fully lower the frame.

2. Relieve pressure in the hydraulic hose(s) and disconnect them from the auger.

3. Chock the auger wheels to prevent rolling.

4. Lower the swing hopper fully to the ground.

5. Use the jack to support the boot, then disconnect the tractor from the auger (PTO shaft and hitch).

6. If present, remove the existing hopper and transition.

Installing the Transition

This section is only required for augers with an existing hopper.

Installing the Low Profile Hopper

Note

The gearbox has been filled at the factory (half full) with EP90 gear oil. Before further assembly, check

oil level to make certain the gearbox is half full as required. Add oil if necessary. Do not use grease.

Assembly Notes:

• Clean dirt and paint from inside u-joint and flight shaft end, then grease the shaft end.

• Raise and support the hopper tube spout head on a stand about 50" (127 cm) high.

• Open the access door on the transition for easier access.

• Attach the transition to the appropriate holes on the intake hopper.

• DO NOT overtighten; tighten to a slightly loose fit only as these bolts act as pivot points.

Assembly Notes:

• Tighten set screws on u-joints, then close and secure the service door.

• Attach the four solid wheels to the four hopper corners with the axle pins and hairpins. There are 3 height

settings for the hopper wheels that can be used according to preference.

Assembly Notes:

• Open the latches and rotate the spout lid open, so that it lies down on the top of the swing tube.

• Clean the u-joint spline and splined shaft on the lower gearbox, then apply a light film of grease on this

splined shaft.

•10" Models Only: Install a rim washer on the lower gearbox top shaft.

• Center the spout head above the gearbox, then guide the u-joint onto the gearbox shaft.

• Lubricate the u-joint, then close and secure the spout head lid.
