Skov iDOL 65 Camera Technical User Guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the user manual for the iDOL 65 camera. This device is designed to measure the weight of finishers using camera technology, with data accessible via the DOL Omni Cloud. I understand the mounting, setup, and electrical installation procedures, as well as key features like automatic data upload. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the iDOL 65 camera.
  • What is the iDOL 65 camera used for?
Where should the iDOL 65 be mounted?
What kind of network connection does the camera need?

1 Introduction
This guide covers the installation, mounting, electrical installation and setup of the iDOL 65 Camera. The man-
ual provides the user, installer and electrician with the basic knowledge on how to mount and connect the iDOL
65 to the DOL Omni Cloud.
The electrical installation section is intended primarily for electricians commissioning and servicing the system.
Note that the iDOL 65 may only be opened for service and troubleshooting with the power supply connected by
qualified personnel.
How to set up DOL Omni Cloud and how the installer logs in as ‘Configurator’ is described in the User Guide for
DOL Omni.
Important: Before mounting the iDOL 65 in the house it is important that the customers account in the
DOL Omni Cloud is prepared, also that the placement of the iDOL 65 in the house is defined (FarmLay-
out).
It is also important that the installer is created as ‘Configurator’ in the DOL Omni Cloud and has already
been logged into his account on his mobile via DOL Omni WebUI.
2 Product description
The iDOL 65 Camera measures the weight of finishers. The iDOL 65 uses a camera to estimate the weight
based on the size of the pig, i.e. height, width and length, etc.
The weight data is automatically uploaded to the DOL Omni Cloud and can be viewed either in an internet
browser on the DOL Omni web-page or through any supported farm management systems.
3 Setup
The full process for unboxing the iDOL 65 to fully operational is described in steps and later elaborated in the
individual sections. Make sure to read the full guide before you start mounting the iDOL 65.
Make sure that the pen where the iDOL 65 is installed is empty until the camera is ready for use.
Unbox and install the iDOL 65 as described in this manual This includes mounting, electrical installation
and registration of location
Install local network in the livestock house and connect in to the Internet/WAN
Register the location of the iDOL 65 by means of the DOL Omni WebUI, see the section Registration of lo-
cation and calibration of camera [}6]
Calibrate the camera. Note that to complete the calibration, the camera must be clean
Led pigs into the pen and the system is fully operational
4 Mounting
iDOL 65 must be mounted above the feed dispenser at dry feeding as shown in Figure 1 or above the drinking
nipple at wet feeding.
No.: Description: Value: Tolerance:
1 The box front must be facing the pen floor. The camera must be
hung horizontally, parallel to the floor.
+/- 4°
2 Height above the floor (measured from the front of the box) 2.3m +/- 5 cm
3 Distance from pen wall / center of the feed dispenser 0.7m +/- 10 cm
4 Center the box compared to the center of the feed dispenser 0cm +/- 30 cm
5 The hinge of the box must face the feed dispenser and must be par-
allel to the partition wall

Make sure that no pipes, wires, etc. are occluding (blocking) the view.
The mounting should be done in a manner that minimizes any movement and vibrations. Direct sunlight into the
pen should be avoided.

The bottom of the box has mounting holes according
to the VESA standard with distances of 50, 75 and
100 mm, respectively.

5 Electrical connection
Installation, servicing and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment must be carried out by quali-
fied personnel in compliance with the applicable national and international standard EN 60204-1
and any other EU standards that are applicable in Europe.
The installation of a power supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply to facili-
tate voltage-free work on the electrical equipment. The power supply isolator is not included.
5.1 Electrical Installation
The electrical installation must be made as specified below:
Cable tie 200 x 4.8mm
Terminal block
Screw 3x20 TX 10
Cable relief bracket
Figure 3: Inside the iDOL 65 box. Make sure that cables and wires are connected as illustrated.
Yellow/green (PE), Blue (N), Brown (P). Use the two cable relief brackets to secure the power cable.
The LAN cable must be led under the plastic bracket and fastened with the enclosed cable ties.
343288
The enclosed cable glands can be used for cables with an
outer diameter of 6 to 13 mm. If thinner cables with an
outer diameter of 4-6 mm are used, the enclosed split
sealing ring (343288) must be mounted, see picture to the
left.
The box is prepared for forwarding the supply from one box to the next.
Network
The camera must have access to the Internet via one of the two Ethernet ports. The Ethernet cable must not
exceed 100m.
The iDOL 65 is equipped with two Ethernet ports LAN 1 and LAN 2, meaning that the iDOL 65 can be con-
nected in series. This means that the network from one iDOL 65 can be forwarded to the next. LAN 1 is used in
direction towards the router and LAN 2 to the subsequent iDOL 65 in the series.
iDOL 65 Camera www.dol-sensors.com 5
iDOL 65 requires a stable connection with a minimum bandwidth of 1Mbit/sec. Download and 0.5Mbit/sec. up-
load.
The network (connection to internet) must allow for:
A dynamically allocated IP for IDOL 65 (DHCP)
TCP I/O access to port 8883 (secure MQTT)
TCP I/O access to port 443 (secure HTTP)
TCP/UDP I/O access to port 53 (DNS)
TCP/UDP I/O access to port 123 (Time server)

6 Registration of location and calibration of camera
As a part of the installation it must be registered where each of the iDOL 65 cameras are mounted. A certified
DOL Omni Cloud administrator must have prepared the DOL Omni Cloud before this step in the installation.
Note that the camera must be connected to power and the network and must be online during this
process, i.e. the green power LED is ON [}8].
6.1 Login
Use the browser on your mobile phone and log into the DOL Omni Cloud as ‘Configurator’.
Open the browser and find https://omni.dol-sensors.com
Enter user name and password
6.2 Register the placement of the camera
Navigate to the selected placement (pen) in FarmLayout.
When the iDOL 65 for registration is selected, enter the DEVICE ID found on the label inside the iDOL 65
box.
Then enter the KEY shown on the label.
Press Save.

8 Maintenance
The iDOL 65 itself does not need maintenance, but must be cleaned regularly as dust and excrements from
flies etc. might block the sight of the camera and hinder heat produced by the iDOL 65 to be led away.
Clean the iDOL 65 with water added a little dishwashing liquid and a soft brush or cloth. Do not use:
High-pressure cleaner
Highly compressed air
Window cleaning spray
Solvents such as acetone, benzene, Carbon Tetrachloride and the like
Corrosive/caustic agents
Alcohol-based disinfectants
Wipe the front dry after cleaning.
Make sure not to move the camera during cleaning. If the position of the iDOL 65 is changed, the camera
needs to be re-calibrated.
