2.1 FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
The LX hybrid solar air conditioner primarily processes direct current (DC) produced by photovoltaic
panels. If the sunlight is not sufficiently intense, the air conditioner draws only the electricity
difference needed to ensure the desired performance from the mains (AC). When the sun is not
shining (at night), the air conditioner takes all the energy needed to provide the required power from
the mains (AC). The air conditioner can be controlled by a remote control (RC) or using a mobile
phone application via WI-FI built into the internal unit. In addition to Wi-Fi, the air conditioner has an
in-built MPPT controller (module for monitoring the maximum efficiency of photovoltaic panels) and
an integrated LX module for connecting to the 1,2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit.

ELECTRIC WIRING OF AIR CONDITIONER LX
The air conditioner may only be wired to photovoltaic panels (DC) and power mains
(AC) by an authorised person with the necessary qualifications and authorisation for
the installation of electrical equipment (DC) or (AC)!
3.1 ELECTRIC WIRING
The air conditioner LX can operate in three modes:
A. Connected to (AC) power mains only, without being connected to photovoltaic panels.
B. Connected to the (AC) power mains whilst simultaneously connected to photovoltaic panels (DC).

C. Connected to the power mains (AC) whilst also connected to the 1-2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit,
which is connected to photovoltaic panels (DC) and the LX water tank. In this circuit the photovoltaic
panels are connected in the air conditioner via the 1-2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit.

A fuse disconnector (fusegear) must be installed between the photovoltaic panels
and the outdoor LX air-conditioning unit!
The package includes 2 pieces of MC4 connectors that are used to connect (DC) wires (diameter 4-6
mm) from photovoltaic panels to the outdoor air-conditioning unit.

The polarity of direct current wires (+) and (-) must be correct. The positive wire in the
outdoor air-conditioning unit is always red and marked with (+).

MECHANICAL CONNECTION OF LX AIR
CONDITIONER
The air conditioner is a high-pressure system! The air conditioner has an indoor and
outdoor unit that may only be wired by a qualified person authorised to operate high-
pressure devices!
4.1 FILLING THE AIR CONDITIONER
The LX air conditioner is filled with a mixture (coolant) R 410 A.
4.2 CONNECTING THE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR UNIT
The LX air-conditioning unit is not supplied with connecting pipes between the indoor and
the outdoor unit!
This is because of almost every distance between the indoor and outdoor unit is different. If
connecting pipes with a fixed length were included in the package, and the actual distance were
longer, it would be impossible to use the supplied pipes, which would create unnecessary waste.

Before filling, the connecting pipes between the indoor and the outdoor unit must be
drained with a vacuum pump!

If the outdoor temperature is below 0 °C, the start of the air-conditioning unit can
be delayed for several minutes after switching on.
5.2 CONNECTING THE AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT TO THE 1-2,3 Kw LXDC
CONTROL BOX
To achieve the maximum year-round use of the (DC) electricity produced by the solar panels, it is
advisable to connect the LX outdoor air-conditioning unit to the 1,2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit.
They connect via:
A. DC cables (diameter 4-6 mm) with MC4 connectors on both ends of the DC cables with connection
to outlet no. 2 on the 1-2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit
Outlet no. 2 (DC-MC4) on 1-2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit to the LX
outdoor air-conditioning unit

5.3 COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE AIR CONDITIONER AND THE
1-2,3 KW LXCD BOX CONTROL UNIT
5.3.1
SWITCHING THE AIR CONDITIONER ON
After turning on the air conditioner by remote control (RC) or using a mobile phone application, the
direct current (DC) water heating in the LX water tank disconnects automatically. The current (DC) in
the 1,2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit automatically redirects to outlet no. 2, where there is a
connecting cable between the 1,2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit and the LX air-conditioning unit. After
about 10 seconds, the LX air conditioner starts drawing ecologically produced electricity from the
photovoltaic panels.
5.3.2
SWITCHING THE AIR CONDITIONER OFF
The air conditioner can be turned off by remote control (RC) or using a mobile phone application in
real time, or if the time elapses after setting the timer. The air conditioner works for some time even
after switching off the power in energy-saving mode, since it is very important to equalize the
temperature of the LX air conditioner and that of the ambient air and thus avoid condensation of
humidity and possible formation of mildew on the heat exchanger of the air-conditioning unit.
After turning off the LX air conditioner the 1,2,3 kW LXDC BOX control unit automatically redirects
electricity (DC) from the solar panels back into the water tank, where the electricity is further stored
in the form of heat.
That redirection is time delayed:
In heating mode: by 3 minutes
In cooling mode: by 7 minutes

Energy can also be redirected in automatic mode. If the room temperature approaches the set
temperature, the air conditioner gradually reduces its output to shutdown when the 1,2,3 kW LXDC
BOX control unit automatically redirects the power to the hot water tank. When the temperature
drops (increases) in the room, the air conditioner re-activates automatically and the 1,2,3 kW LXDC
BOX control unit redirects the power to operate it.

The LX air-conditioning unit has another useful function. The temperature (neither maximum nor
minimum) is set, and it is partly cloudy outside. The air-conditioning unit heats or cools. Once the sun
comes out from behind the clouds, the air conditioner registers an increase in current from the PV
modules and increases the power itself. If the sun goes behind the clouds again, the air conditioner
reduces its power to the original level.
Redirection of electricity (DC) from the photovoltaic panels between the LX air
conditioner and the LX hot water tank ensures maximum year-round utilisation of
ecologically produced energy, and a fast and efficient return on any investment in
renewable energy resources. Protecting the environment is characteristic of all LX
products.

6.2 SETTING THE LX AIR CONDITIONER
6.2.1
AIR-CONDITIONING MODE
A. Press "MODE" on the remote control to select the air conditioning mode (automatic, cooling,
dehumidification, heating or air circulation in the room)
B. Press ON/OFF to activate the selected mode
C. To turn the unit off, press the ON/OFF key.
6.2.2
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Press "TEMP" to set the temperature from 17 °C to 30 °C. Press the up arrow to increase the
temperature and the down arrow to decrease the temperature.
The temperature cannot be controlled in air circulation in the room mode.
6.2.3
AIRFLOW INTENSITY CONTROL
Press "WIND SPEED" to set the desired intensity of the airflow and press "TEMP" to set the desired
air flow intensity from 1% -100% to create a comfortable environment.

The airflow intensity cannot be adjusted in automatic mode and dehumidification mode.
In automatic mode, the air-conditioning unit controls the cooling, the airflow intensity or
the heating on its own. If that does not suit you, manually select the desired mode and
the air temperature.
6.2.4
AIRFLOW DIRECTION CONTROL
A. To adjust the aperture press "SWING" and the aperture regulating the direction of air flow will
turn automatically.
B. . To stop the aperture turning press "SWING" again.
6.2.5
HORIZONTAL APERTURE MANUAL SETUP
If the air conditioner is running, the airflow direction can be adjusted manually by using a
handle to move the aperture.
6.3 TIMER SETUP
6.3.1
TIMER ON/OFF
Time can be set within the range of 0-24 hours.
A. Press the left part of "TIME / LED" to activate the time setting mode and the time displays.
B. Press the same part of the button again; set the desired time and release the button. The control
flashes; makes the requested change, and the indoor unit emits an acoustic signal to confirm that
the timer has been reset.
6.3.2 CHECKING THE REMAINING TIME
Press the timing key to display the remaining time of the set mode on the remote control. Hold
the button down for two seconds to show the original time on the display.

6.3.3 TIMING OFF
Press the timing settings and change the setting to 0. This will deactivate the timer.
6.3.4 CHANGING THE TIMING
If you want to change the timer settings, press "TIMER" and set a new value.
This model is equipped with pre-cooling and pre-heating. 5 minutes before starting
the timing when the ambient temperature is similar to the desired temperature set
on the air conditioner, the air conditioner will operate at a lower frequency.
If there is power outage, the timer will be cancelled automatically and must be reset.
6.4 CHILD LOCK SETUP
The child lock is used to block the control keys if children play with the controls, to
avoid the air-conditioning unit being accidentally activated or shut off.
6.4.1 LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE REMOTE CONTROL KEYBOARD
A. Press the "MODE" and "SWING" keys simultaneously and hold them down for 5 seconds. A
lock symbol appears on the remote control display and the other buttons are disabled.
B. Press the "MODE" and "SWING" keys simultaneously and hold them down for 2 seconds. If the
lock symbol disappears from the control display, the child lock has been deactivated and all buttons
are enabled.
6.5 USING ADDITIONAL FEATURES
The air-conditioning unit can be used in different operating modes:
ECO-power saving mode, Display functions, iMODE, SMART flow, Comfortable sleep, Drying, Auxiliary
electric heating, Powerful mode, Outdoor dust removal.
6.5.1 ECO MODE SAVING ENERGY
When the air conditioner is in cooling mode, press "ECO" on the remote control. The air-conditioning
unit remains in cooling mode and saves energy at the same time. The display on the indoor unit
switches off after 15 seconds and shows the ECO icon only. The air-conditioning unit turns off ECO
mode automatically after 8 hours of operation and goes into classical cooling mode without changing
the set temperature or airflow intensity.
Please reconsider using the ECO mode in areas with high energy demands or when the
outside temperature is high, as in these cases the air-conditioning unit may not be
sufficient to cool/heat the entire space when running at reduced power. Energy
consumption in ECO mode has been tested by environmental experts and the measured
values may differ from those achieved by the air-conditioning unit features in ECO mode
in your home. It depends on several factors, such as the size of the cooled/heated space,
the inside and outside temperature.

6.5.2 DISPLAY FEATURES
If the air-conditioning unit is turned on, press the right side of the Timing/Display keys intermittently
and the screen will change as follows:

6.5.3 iMODE
In the cooling/heating mode, press the left side of the "POWERFUL/MODE" key for 2 seconds and the
current air-conditioning mode is registered into the memory along with the current temperature, the
airflow intensity and the wind direction. The next time you press this key, the air conditioner
automatically turns on the saved mode.
If you no longer want to keep the saved mode, reset the memory and select a more
convenient mode.
6.5.4 SMART FLOW
In cooling mode, the SMART flow feature can be opened or closed.
Learn to use the SMART flow feature:
The air conditioner runs automatically with the selected airflow in cooling mode, while
the outdoor unit operates at relatively low power, which is one of the power-saving
features. How to start and shut off SMART flow Startup or shutdown is described under
"Mode selection".
6.5.5 COMFORTABLE SLEEP MODE
In the cooling/heating mode you can select Comfortable sleep mode 1 and 2.
Learn how to control Comfortable sleep mode:
Comfortable Sleep Mode 1: sleep time is set at 8 hours, the temperature of the exhaust
air is automatically adjusted every hour for the first two hours and then the rest of the
set time the temperature is constant. Comfortable Sleep Mode 2: sleep time is set at 9
hours and the temperature is adjusted in the same way as in mode 1. The temperature
can be changed during the mode.

6.5.6 DRYING MODE
Select drying mode in cooling and dehumidification mode. Once the air-conditioning unit is turned
off, the drying function activates to clean the inside of the device.
Automatic drying process:
This initially runs for 4 minutes when the airflow is weak, then heats for 1 minute and
then runs again for 2 minutes with low airflow intensity. It then turns off automatically.
6.5.7 POWERFUL MODE
Press “POWERFUL” in the cooling/heating mode to turn on/off powerful mode.
6.5.8 OUTSIDE DUST REMOVAL FEATURE
The air-conditioning unit has a function for cleaning the outside of the unit from dust; it is normal for the outdoor
unit to get dusty.

WARRANTY AND COMPLAINTS
o The warranty on the LX hybrid solar air conditioner is 2 years from the date the device is installed.
o The installation may only be performed by an authorised person possessing valid certificates,
authorisations and tests for the installation of electrical and high-pressure equipment.
o If a complaint on the LX air conditioner is filed, it must be accompanied by proof of the
proficiency of the installation company that installed the LX air-conditioning unit, unless that
company is listed as a certified installer of the LX conditioning unit posted on the
manufacturer's website.
