IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
WARNING!
1. Only use the Specialty Purpose Relocatable Power Tap (SPRPT) for supplying power to
equipment that is intended to form part of the medical system.
2. The SPRPT shall be permanently attached to the medical system by a means such that it is
only removable with the use of a tool. It shall not be located or positioned on the floor.
3. Do not use with any device that is not part of the medical system in which the SPRPT is
installed. Do not connect equipment that is not part of the medical system to any unused
SPRPT outlets. Do not touch parts of the SPRPT and the patient simultaneously. To remove
power from the unit, disconnect using the plug cap. Do not pull on the supply cord.
4. The use of this SPRPT does not ensure that a medical system compliant with any standard
or specifications (such as local codes) will result. Only those qualified to assemble a medical
system shall attempt to do so. The UL 60601-1 standard is used to determine the suitability
of a medical electrical system. In accordance with UL 60601-1, in a medical system the
medical equipment connections to the SPRPT shall only be accessible with the use of a tool.
If you are not familiar with this standard and/or medical systems, do not use this device.
5. Risk of Electric Shock: Do not connect non-medical equipment that has been supplied
as part of the medical system directly to a wall outlet when said non-medical equipment is
intended to be supplied via a SPRPT with a separating transformer.
6. Use of this equipment in life support applications where failure of this equipment can
reasonably be expected to cause the failure of the life support equipment or to significantly
affect its safety or effectiveness is not recommended. Do not use this equipment within
oxygen-enriched atmospheres, or within 0.3 m of a point at which an oxygen-enriched
atmosphere is intentionally vented.
7. The SPRPT shall be used within its marked load rating.
8. Short circuit backup protection is to be provided through the building installation.
