(1) Check whether GRBL and the product are connected

(2) Check whether the product power supply is powered and check the red indicator

(3) Under the normal condition of the above operation, check whether there is a red alarm in

the lower right corner of GRBL software. If yes, it means that the gyroscope alarm has been

triggered. Enter the $$ value to check the $140 value, it is recommended to set it to 16 and then

click the start button to lift it;

(4) If no problem is found in any of the above operations, please check whether the progress

meter triggers the soft limit. If so, click the reset button, the unlock button and click start carving.

GRBL software suddenly stops during the carving process.

(1) Conﬁrm whether the driver (CH340) has been installed on the computer side, and reinstall

the driver; If the installation is successful, the USB connection to the product is displayed in the

COM port in GRBL, and you can also choose other ports to try to connect. As shown in the ﬁgure:

(2) Conﬁrm whether the baud rate in the setting parameter is 115200;

(3) If you are installing GRBL software for the ﬁrst time and the above operations are unable to

connect or disconnect immediately after connection, you can use Lightburn software to con-

nect with to check the product ﬁrmware version number. If it is COMGO V1.0, you only need to

refresh the ﬁrmware (it is recommended to update our latest ﬁrmware);

(4)If you ﬁnd that Lightburn/GRBL and other software cannot be connected under normal

operation during use, replace the USB cable.

GRBL can not connect to the product.

(1) Check whether the setting size of the engraved picture exceeds 400*400;

(2) Input “$$”, check whether it is “$20=1”. If not, modify “$20=1” and start the soft limit switch. It

can prevent the engraving range from exceeding 400 under artiﬁcial settings or other abnor-

mal conditions.

During GRBL engraving, the X-axis always hits the side.

(1) Check whether the wire is loose (fork the power line of the laser head), or loosen the PWM

line separately to check whether the laser head emits light normally;

(2) Please unplug the laser connecting wire, turn on LaserGRBL, adjust the laser brightness to

the maximum, and then measure the voltage of “POWER” and “PWM” wire respectively. If both

“POWER” and “PWM” have voltage, there is a problem with the laser module.

The machine moves normally, but the laser does not light.

(1) Check whether the laser focal length is correctly adjusted. 5W laser focal length is 23mm

and 10W laser focal length is 45mm;

(2) We recommend that you refer to the recommended engraving parameters in the manual

for setting;

(3) If the laser lens is obscured by foreign objects, we recommend you to clean the lens regu-

larly;

(4) Conﬁrm whether the software settings are wrong (for Lightburn);

(5) When it is cutting, we recommend that the cutting materials do not have a lot of deforma-

tion. If there is, we recommend that you ﬁrst press together ﬂat after cutting;

(6) The cutting speed is not recommended to be lower than 120mm. If it is for thicker materials,

we suggest you to cut twice or more times in a separate way. If the speed is too slow, it will

easily lead to serious burning around the cutting edge of the board.

Engraving or cutting does not achieve the desired effect.

(1) Conﬁrm whether the driver (CH340) has been installed (the driver ﬁle can check the

random ﬁle in the SD card). If you reinstall the driver installed successfully, USB connected

products are shown with COM port in GRBL. You can also choose other ports to try to connect.

As shown in the ﬁgure:

(2) Conﬁrm whether the baud rate in the setting parameter is 115200;

(3) Delete the setup parameters in the device list and reset the connection parameters.

Linghtburn can not be connected.

(1) Open the cutting setting editor to see if the “overscan” button is turned on. (After the prod-

uct is turned on, due to communication problems, the product needs to be reset to contact the

alarm. After clicking the “reset”, the X/Y axis of the product will move to the home position. If the

“overscan” button is turned on, the X axis will perform a -2.5mm movement. Thus the alarm will

be triggered when the machine is turned on.) Turning off the “overscan” button will have no

effect on the engraving effect;

(2) If you need to set (super scan) when engraving, move the X-axis to a certain distance from

the limit switch and then click the “set home” button to start engraving.

When Lightburn clicks to start engraving, an alarm problem

appears immediately.

(1) Check whether Lightburn is connected to the product;

(2) Check whether the product power supply is powered and check the red indicator;

(3) The normal condition of the above operation means that the gyro alarm has been trig-

gered, enter the “$$ value” to check the “$140 value”. We suggest you to set it to 16 and then

click the “start” button.

(1) Right-click (macro button) and enter “$X”. To disarm the alarm, simply click this macro

button.

How to set Lightburn so that the product does not need to return

to zero after power on?

(1) Not tightening the belt leading to slippage;

(2) The motor timing wheel is not tightened leading to slippage;

(3) If the belt or timing pulley is defective, please replace the belt.

(1) LaserGRBL and Lightburn are currently supported. LaserGRBL is available for Windows and is

less difﬁcult to use, you can get the software installation package from the SD card; Lightburn is

a paid software, but if you are a ﬁrst-time user, you will get a free month of use. The software is

available for Windows, Mac OS and Linux, and you can get the software installation package

from the following link:

(1) If the connection is poor, try again after rewiring;

(2) Remove the main board cover, change the position of X-axis limit line and Y-axis limit line,

and then click the mechanical return to zero. If the impacted position changes, the main board

is damaged; If the shaft is still impacted, it is likely that the limit switch is damaged.

The laser does not stop moving after hitting the limit switch.

(1) Check whether the noise is made by the structure or the motor. If it is the noise of the motor,

we suggest you to change the X Y motor line to see if it is a motor problem;

(2) Check whether the screws on both sides of the X-axis are ﬁxed tight;

(3) Whether the slider of the axis and Y-axis has a laminated proﬁle (if not, adjust the eccentric

nut to make it laminated)?

(1) There is an SD card slot reserved on the motherboard, which is mainly used to update the

machine ﬁrmware. For the latest ﬁrmware, please visit the ofﬁcial website of Comgrow;

(2) When the product uses the APP, it must be necessary to put the SD into the card slot; Store

the engraving instructions issued by app through SD card.

What the SD card slot on the main board is used for?

For stainless steel, laser engraving can be done directly on its surface. For speciﬁc engraving

parameters, please refer to the table of recommended engraving parameters; For other metals,

such as iron, aluminum and copper, they cannot be carved directly. They can be carved only

after a layer of coating is attached to the surface of the material.

Whether engraving can be done on metal surfaces?

For a low-power laser with a wavelength of 450nm, metal can not be cut.

(1) The normal service life of the laser module is 10000 hours. In the actual test, the optical

power will decay after using 8000 hours. There will be a certain impact on the cutting, so we

recommend that the laser head needs to be replaced after using 10000 hours;

(2) Regularly maintain the laser head and clean the stains on the surface lens/enclosure.

Please execute the preview command before engraving, it will move at the boundary of the

engraving area in the form of weak light. If this boundary is beyond your engraving range, you

can move the object or move the laser position to adjust it.

How to ensure that the laser engraving pattern is within the

envisaged range?

(1) For the laser module, its normal service life is more than 10000H. Of course, the use environ-

ment will also have a certain impact on the service life and engraving ability. When the laser

module lens is found to be scorched yellow or the lens is blurred, it needs to be properly

cleaned;

(2) Regularly check the ﬁt tightness of the pulley and the proﬁle;

(3) Regularly check whether the belt is notched. In the installation or other processes, do not

bend the belt. The belt is equipped with steel wire, bending is likely to lead to wire fracture.

Whether the machine needs maintenance?

Yes, in the case of engraving glass or ceramics, it is better to engrave the glass/ceramics with

black or tinted paper on the surface, so that the engraving text will be more clear.

How to adjust the belt tightness?

Yes, for the spray layer, the carving speed must be fast. If it is the grayscale picture, we suggest

you to use the Lightburn software to carve. GRBL will be much slower for grayscale engraving,

so the engraving will not be good.

Is it possible to engrave coating layers?

(1) GOMGO version 1.0, which is the earliest general ﬁrmware with the most basic functional

parameters;

(2) GOMGO version 1.1, compared to 1.0, this version of the ﬁrmware mainly optimizes the soft-

ware serial connection and other issues;

(3) GOMGO version 2.0, which enables the use of APP functions, optimizes the underlying algo-

rithm logic and improves the carving speed. It is the latest version of ﬁrmware.

Which cell phone models are compatible with APP?

It can't be used on iPads and mobile phones. You need to use a computer.

How to download APP?

(1) Conﬁrm whether the WIFI module is installed. Watch the motherboard (green indicator), if

the green indicator is not lit, this means that the WIFI module is not installed;

(2) Connect GRBL through the USB port and check if the current product ﬁrmware version

number is COMGO 2.0;

(3) When connecting to WIFI, the product needs to be disconnected from the PC segment

software disconnection. Otherwise it cannot be connected;

(4) Click WIFI search in the mobile phone settings to see if there is a COMGO Laser WIFI name, if

so, click Connect.If so, click “connect”.

What should we do if the APP cannot be connected?

After the mobile phone is connected to the product’s WIFI, the mobile phone is not able to

access the Internet.

Can the cell phone access the Internet after the APPWIFI connection?

Compared to the Bluetooth way, WIFI’s transmission rate and stability will be better. At present,

our product’s engraving function is equipped with black and white/grayscale/cutting and other

module functions. In comparison, image processing in grayscale mode will produce a much

more G-code than in black and white, so the transmission time in grayscale mode will be

longer.

Is the speed of uploading pictures by mobile APP fast?

In the actual use of the process, when we are operating APP, this time will be relatively short.

When we ﬁnished sending the carving pattern, our cell phone is able to disconnect APP con-

nection, and the engraving machine can also be carving normally.

Will it affect our life if the cell phone can't access the internet

during the carving process?

Yes, it needs to be used with rotary engraving components. Just connect the Y-axis motor line

to the rotary engraving assembly motor (note that the Y-axis motor cables on both sides of Z1

need to be removed, not just one), and set “$101=65” at the same time. When the engraving is

ﬁnished, you need to set “$101=80”.
