SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR YOUR TIFFANY SLOW COOKER
Do not operate the slow cooker on an inclined surface.
Do not move or cover the slow cooker while in operation.
Do not immerse the base of the slow cooker in water or any other liquid.
Use your slow cooker well away from walls and curtains.
Do not use your slow cooker in confined spaces.
Do not touch any metal surface of the slow cooker whilst in use as it will be hot.
INTRODUCTION TO SLOW COOKING
Slow cooking occurs at temperatures just around boiling point. Since liquids do not bubble
very quickly at this temperature, there is just a little steam and evaporation, foods do not stick
and very little stirring is required.
Slow cooking retains both flavour and nutrition, and allows you to select cheaper cuts of
meat.
The cooker can operate on LOW all day and night if required.
When on HIGH setting, it is very much like a covered pot on a stove. Foods will cook in half
the time required on LOW. Additional liquid may be required as evaporation is higher on
HIGH setting.
NOTE: The glass lid should not be removed when cooking on LOW setting.
USING THE AUTO SETTING
When switch to AUTO, the appliance will cook on HIGH until the preset temperature is
reached. It then switches the element on and off to maintain a constant temperature.
Therefore a dish that cooks for 5-6 hours on HIGH, will cook for 8-9 hours on AUTO. This
facility allows the user to switch the appliance on and leave the house for the whole day,
without supervising the cooking process.
COOKING PRACTICES
1. Vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, turnips, etc require longer cooking time than many
meats and should be placed in the bottom of the cooker and covered with liquid.
2. If adding fresh milk or yogurt, this should be done during the final 2 hours. Evaporated
milk may be added at the start of cooking.
3. Rice, noodles and pasta are not recommended for long cooking periods. Cook them
separately and then add to the cooker during the final 30 minutes.
FEATURES OF YOUR SLOW COOKER
1. Quality Glass Lid- Fits neatly onto the ceramic cook pot to retain heat and
moisture for best results. The transparent glass allows you to view the food
during cooking without lifting the lid, preventing the heat from escaping.
2. Removable ceramic cook pot- The durable ceramic pot is removable to allow for
convenient serving at the table, storing of leftovers and easy cleaning. The
ceramic pot can be washed in dishwasher.
3. Temperature Control Dial- Allows you to select the desired temperature for
each recipe. LOW, HIGH and AUTO.
4. Power ON Light- Indicates that the slow cooker is turned on and heating.
5. Cool touch handles and lid knob- Allows you to lift and carry the slow cooker to
the table when hot.
6. 6.5 litres capacity- Suitable for a large family.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before using you Tiffany slow cooker, wash the ceramic cook pot and lid in warm
soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Important: Do not immerse the slow cooker base in water.
2. Place the slow cooker on a flat level surface.
3. Prepare the food to be cooked and place inside the slow cooker. Put the lid on.
Note: Do not place very cold or frozen food in the cook pot if it has been preheated
as this may cause cracking of pot.
Important: The ceramic cook pot should not be placed under hot water if it has been
taken directly from the freezer.
4. Insert the plug into the power outlet and turn the power on.
5. Select the desired setting on the temperature dial: LOW, HIGH or AUTO. The power
on light will illuminate to indicate that the appliance is switched on.
6. Once the AUTO mode has been set, the slow cooker will operate in HIGH setting and
then change to LOW setting automatically after it reaches adequate temperature.
Please Note: the machine will NOT automatically turn off. To turn off, the control
knob must be turned to the ‘OFF’ setting.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
BEFORE USING THE SLOW COOKER FOR THE FIRST TIME, wash the ceramic cook pot and
glass lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
After each use
Unplug from the power point before commencing cleaning.
The body should be cleaned by wiping the inside and outside surfaces with a damp soapy
cloth and drying thoroughly.
The ceramic cook pot and glass lid may be washed in warm soapy water. The ceramic
cook pot is dishwasher-safe.
Always allow the ceramic pot to cool before cleaning. Subjecting the pot to thermal shock
(placing a hot bowl on a cold surface or filling with cold water) can result in the pot
breaking. A short period of soaking the ceramic cook pot will assist in ease of cleaning.
DO NOT use harsh abrasives, scourers or chemicals to clean any part of your slow cooker
as these will damage the surfaces.
CAUTION: Do not immerse the base of the slow cooker in water or any other liquid.
SERVICE
Always check full operation as detailed above before returning any unit as faulty.
Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after it malfunctions, or
appears damaged in any way. Return the complete appliance to the place of purchase,
together with your proof of purchase or address noted in the warranty information for
inspection, repair or replacement.
