1.1 Main features
The new SGM Giotto 1500 comes with a 1200W lamp that has the luminous power of 1400W.
And increased luminous intensity is just one of the new features in a series manufactured using
technology which opens up enormous possibilities for greater use of moving head fixtures.
Rather than a range of products, the Giotto 1500 is an ingenious expandable modular
system, which enables each individual fixture to be configured with the exclusive
characteristics of different instruments.
Di volta in volta, secondo le necessità, il creativo può decidere di personalizzare la stessa
macchina e renderla un proiettore Wash, Spot, Profile o Digital semplicemente
intercambiando, negli spazi all'interno, i moduli rimovibili in cui sono state suddivise tutte
le funzioni ottiche.
Each fixtures head is ready-built to host three of the seven available modules (except Wash
configuration, which has two).Once the chosen versions modules are assembled, fixtures
electronics and software will identify them and automatically adapt to suit them.

1.3 Electrical Specifications
DANGER!!
1 CLASS FIXTURE, GROUND NEEDED!
POWER REQUIREMENTS: Universal 90V-245 V 50Hz,60Hz.
POWER ABSORBED: Max 1980W@230V 50Hz
PROTECTION FUSES: 25 Amp Magnetothermic protection
ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL PROTECTIONS
:
In addition to the magnetothermic protection, Giotto 1500 is equipped with sophisticated electronic
systems able to protect the projector from overtensions or dangerous falls of tension, so as not to
find electronic cards damaged as usually happens in those cases. The electronic ballast, installed
as standard equipment, allows the projector to be used in a very versatile way with any power
supply included among 90-240 Volts 50 or 60 Hz, however exposing Giotto 1500 to the most
common dangers in the electric plants all over the world (detachment of the neutral wire or
floating low tensions). This is why SGM focused on developing a system able to protect Giotto 1500
from the most common problems about electric plans, making everything clear to the last user.
The protections are:
1. Protections against the overvoltage.
In case of power supply over 280 Vrms, due to the neutral detachment, the internal protection
detects the overvoltage preventing the fixture’s switching on. The display, powered by the internal
battrey, will show the error message "POWER OVERVOLTAGE"
2. Protections against the low voltage.
This second case involves all those countries where the power supply is 100-120Volts. In this second
case we can meet two different situations:
In the first situation, we have a fixture already powered at 100 Volts and, for some reasons, the
power supply lowers under 80 Volts. In this case, Giotto 1500 detects the low voltage but keeps
on working normally. If this situation lasts for a long time, then the internal temperatures will
increase until the temperature protections won’t stop the internal powering.
In the second situation, Giotto 1500 is not yet powered and, by swithcing on the fixture, it
immediately detects that the voltage is already under 80 Volts. In this case, the internal
protection will provide to lock the fixture immediately.
LAMP SPECIFICATIONS
Giotto 1500 is fitted with Philips MSR GOLD 1200 fast fit lamp.
This lamp is able to generate a color temperature of 6300°K, alternatively the same lamp is
available but with color temperature of 6000°K with a life of 750h.
The lamp is hot restrike, thanks to its electronic ballast, Giotto 1500 can have this function as
standard.

2.2 Power cable construction
ATTENCTION!!
Before installing the fixture check that the power supply cable AC is
disconnected.
Wiring and connection work must be carried out by experienced qualified staff.
Class one equipment must be earthed (grounded)
Do not power Giotto 1500 units with dimmers, as this could damage their on-board power
supply
Before connecting the unit, make certain that the mains power supply is the same as indicated
on the fixtures ID plate
The unit must be protected by a thermal/magnetic circuit-breaker
The power supply cable has the following colours:
SYMBOL COLOUR
L Black
N White
Green
The installer has to use a socket suitable to Giotto 1500s electrical input.
