Batteries

B Rechargeable battery

≥Use only the included charger when

recharging.

≥Normally 4 hours (2 hours for U.K.)

recharging will give about 12 hours tape

playback (at 25 oC).

≥The rechargeable battery can be re-

charged about 300 times. When its op-

eration time becomes extremely

shortened, that’s time for replacing it.

Notice about the rechargeable battery

The battery is designated recyclable.

Please follow your local recycling regu-

lations.

Press in and down towards the minus

Battery condition indicators

When the battery becomes weak

The indicator will flash.

Recharge the rechargeable battery or re-

place the dry cell battery with a new one.

≥To confirm the indicators

≥Press [BATT CHECK].

≥The [E–F] indicator lamps scroll

through twice and then light to indicate

the remaining charge.

≥During play, these lamps indicate the

Dolby B NR ( ), tone settings

and the tape mode.

∫ To extend playback time

Install both types of battery (recharge-

able and dry cell battery) in the unit.

Cautions

≥Align the poles (+ and -) properly

when inserting the battery.

≥Do not recharge ordinary dry cell bat-

teries.

≥Remove all the batteries if the set will

not be used for a long period of time.

≥Carry and store the rechargeable bat-

tery in the supplied battery carrying

case to prevent contact with metal ob-

jects.

≥Do not peel off the covering on batteries

and do not use if the covering has been

peeled off.

Mishandling of battery can cause elec-

trolyte leakage which can damage items

the fluid contacts and may cause a fire.

If electrolyte leaks from the battery, con-

sult your dealer.

Wash thoroughly with water if electrolyte

comes in contact with any part of your

body.

≥Do not play your headphones or ear-

phones at a high volume.

≥To avoid product damage, do not ex-

pose this product to rain, water or other

liquids.

≥Avoid using or placing this unit near

sources of heat. Do not leave it in an

automobile exposed to direct sunlight

for a long period of time with doors and

windows closed.

≥Mobile phones can cause noise if used

too close to the unit. Separate if this

occurs.

≥Zum Laden des Akkus ausschließlich das mit-

gelieferte Ladegerät verwenden.

≥Eine Ladezeit von 4 Stunden (2 Stunden für

England) liefert normalerweise eine Bandbe-

triebszeit von ca. 12 Stunden (bei 25 oC).

≥Der Akku kann etwa 300mal aufgeladen wer-

den. Wenn sich seine Betriebszeit stark ver-

kürzt, muß der Akku ausgewechselt werden.

Hinweis zum Akku

Die Batterie ist für Recycling geeignet. Bitte die

einschlägigen Vorschriften bei der Entsorgung

beachten.

Nach Gebrauch der Verkaufsstelle zurück-

geben.

Nach unten und zum Minus-Ende hin drücken.

≥Verbrauchte Batterien sachgerecht entsorgen.

wechseln.

≥Überprüfen der Anzeigen

≥[BATT CHECK] drücken.

¡Die [E–F]-Leuchtanzeigen rollen zweimal

durch und leuchten dann, um die restliche

Ladung anzuzeigen.

¡Während der Wiedergabe zeigen diese Anzei-

gelampen die Einstellungen für die DOLBY-B-

Rauschunterdrückung ( ), den Klang-

charakter und den Band-Modus an.

∫ Zum Verlängern der Be-

triebszeit

Beide Spannungsquellen (Akku und Trocken-

zelle) einlegen.

Vorsichtsmaßregeln

≥Beim Einsetzen der Batterie darauf achten,

daß die Pole (+ und -) richtig ausgerichtet

sind.

≥Nicht versuchen, eine normale Trockenzel-

lenbatterie wieder aufzuladen.

≥Alle Batterien entfernen, wenn das Gerät län-

gere Zeit nicht verwendet werden soll.

≥Die Akkubatterie im mitgelieferten Batteriege-

fäß tragen und lagern, um zu verhindern, daß

sie mit Metallgegenständen in Kontakt

kommt.

≥Streifen Sie nie den Schutzüberzug der Bat-

terien ab, und benutzen Sie diese nicht, wenn

der Schutzüberzug abgestreift wurde.

Der falsche Umgang mit der Batterie kann zum

Auslaufen des Elektrolyts führen. Ausgelaufe-

ner Elektrolyt kann die Innenteile, mit denen er

in Kontakt kommt, beschädigen und einen

Brand auslösen.

Wenden Sie sich an Ihren Fachhändler, falls

Elektrolyt aus der Batterie ausläuft.

Falls Elektrolyt auf die Haut gelangt, waschen

Sie die entsprechende Stelle sofort gründlich

mit Wasser ab.

≥Nicht mit hoher Lautstärke mit dem Kopf- oder

Ohrhörer hören.

≥Um eine Beschädigung zu vermeiden, dieses

Gerät nicht Regen, Wasser oder anderen

Flüssigkeiten aussetzen.

≥Betrieb und Aufstellung dieses Gerätes in der

Badwiedergabe

1. Die Cassette einsetzen.

Nach Schließen des Deckels wird das Band

automatisch gestrafft, und die Wiedergabe

beginnt normalerweise mit der Vorderseite

der Cassette.

Clean the cabinet with a cloth, dampen-

ed in mild solution of soap and water. Do

not use benzine, thinner or aerosol type

cleaner.

For a cleaner crisper sound

Clean the heads regularly to assure good

quality playback. Use a cleaning tape

(not included).
