SCD-2000, an advanced navigation system, is developed according to IEC/IMO/IHO regulations.
Also it provides convenient user-oriented functions. This chapter explains the main functions and
conveniences of the system.
1. Main Functions
- Official S-57, S-63 ENC shall be shown on screen.
- Mercator projection used with standard datum according to WGS84;
- Links with external sensors like GPS, gyro, speed log, AIS, ARPA, echo sounder, weather
cock, wind gauge, BAM, BNWAS, Backup ECDIS, VDR, etc.;
- Inactive GPS for backup, to be triggered automatically when active GPS fails, while two
GPS sensors stay connected;
- Various monitoring functions such as [ROUTE MONITORING], [HEADING MONITORING],
[ANCHOR MONITORING], etc.;
- [ROUTE PLAN] for safe navigation;
- Storage for tracks of own ship, AIS, ARPA targets;
- Navigating tools like draw, calculator, EBL/VRM, notepad, LOP, etc.;
- Chart display modes such as [North-up], [Head-up], [Course-up], [Route-up], etc.;
- Alarms or indicators in accordance with each situation; and
- Two systems in operation for backup arrangement (option).
2. Conveniences
- Toolbar for the quick execution of frequently used functions;
- Shortcut keys for icons of each menu and toolbar;
- Easy of inputting both latitude and longitude;
- Number inputting by trackball wheel or arrow keys;
- Chart zooming with trackball wheel:
- Hiding menu and information window for a good view of the display;
- Storage of screen, track, route, target list, etc. to external files (.csv);
- [AUTO MOTION]: freely moving between pages in the works of figures drawing, chart
moving, etc. while letting the symbol of own ship disappearing out of the screen in no
work;
- As for Korea, available to indicate marine zoning map;
- In English and Korean;
- Available to adjust the transparency of menu and information windows; and
- Available to change the style of menu and information window.
