thedistractingcloudsofsmokeaswithtraditionalsmokemachines.Therearenonoisycompressorsorheaters,
justalighthazethatwillenhanceyourlighting.TheHYDROSONICalsousesmuchlowerconcentratesthan
standardsmokemachinesorcrackedoilmachines,sotherearenooilydepositsleftonexpensivelighting
equipmentoronfloorsandsurfaces.OnceyouusetheHYDROSON ICyouwillnevergoback.
TheHYDROSONIC2000isadifferentbreedofhazegenerators.JEMhavedevelopedarevolutionarywayof
generatingareflectivehaze.ThereisamaintankinsidetheHYDROSONICthatcontainsceramicdevicescalled
transducers.Thesetransducersarethebasisoftheeffect,thetransducersoscillateathighfrequency's,thiscau sesa
jettobeproduced.Fromthisjetarevaryingsizesofparticlessomeofwhicharesmallenoughtobefilteredoutand
blownintotheatmosphere,thelargerparticlesremaininsidethemaintankandfallbackintothereservoiroffluid.
Thisreservoiroffluidint hemaintankisacriticalandifthisistohighortolowtheoutputwilldeteriorate.
Becauseofthistherearetoleveldetectorsensuringthecorrectlevelatalltimes.Ifthemachineisonaninclineor
unevensurfacethisfluidlevelindicatorswillgivefalsereadingsandmayshutdownthemachine.
TheoutputfromtheHYDROSONICisboostedviaatangentialfanThiscandirectthesmoketowhereyouwantit
onlowoutputtheeffectwillbedispersedlow(around3metreshigh)andatfulloutputtheeffectwillbedispersed
uptofivetimeshigher.ThereisalsoafeaturecalledAUTO,thiswillvaryth eoutput

TheHYDROSONIC2000isabletooperateonthethreestandardmainsvoltages,240v,230v,and110v.Theonly
modificationistothemainstransformerwiring.TheHYDROSONIChasafactorysettingvoltage,thisisrecorded
ontheseriallabelsituatedontherearpanel.IftheHYDROSONICissetupfortheU.K.butisnowoutsidetheU.K.
thetransformerwiringmustbemodified.Removethethreescrewsholdingthetransformeraccesspaneandcheck
thattheBROWNwireisinthecorrectpositionaccordingtothediagramsbelow.

BeforeoperatingtheHYDROSONIC2000youmustconnectsomefluidCheckyouhavethecorrect
fluidtype,removethecapthatisonthenewcontainer,nowfitthecontainerintothecompartmentand
screwonthecontainercapthatisfixedtothemachine.Checkthatthepipeisconnectedproperlyand
thatthecontainercapissecure.Donotloosethecapthatisfixedtothemachineyouwillnotbeableto
operatetheHYDROSONICwithoutit.Notecaremustbetakennottospillfluidoverthemachine.
FLUIDTYPES
TherearetwotypesofJEMHYDROSONICFLUID"STANDARD"&"LONGLASTING".
TheyarebothsuitableforuseintheHYDROSONIC2000andhaveslightlydifferentuses.
STANDARDisalowconcentratesuitableformostapplicationswherethereisnotahigh
ambient(roomtemperature).Thiswillgivealighthazeandwilllastagoodwhile.
LONGLASTINGhasaslightlyhigherconcentrateandwilllastlongerthantheSTANDARD
fluidinhigherambient.JEMrecommendsusingtheLONGLASTINGfluidinambientabove
25degreesCelsius.
Ifyourequiremoreadviceonthecorrectfluidtousepleasecontactthesupplierofyourmachine
orcontactJEMdirect.

USINGTHECONTROLLER
TheHYDROSONIC2000hasacomprehensiveonboardcontrollerthatcontrolsallthefunctionsofthe
HYDROSONIC.Thecontrollercanremembertheprevioussettingsused,sothereisnoneedtosetthe
outputlevelsandserialcommunicationsettingseverytimeyouturntheHYDROSONICon.Thecontroller
hasfourbuttonsthataccessandsetthevariousoptions.Pleaselookatthediagrambelowtoseethelayoutof
thefunctions..
WhenyoufirstturnontheHYDROSONICthecontrollerrunsthroughasequenceanddisplaysthesoftware
versionnumberandchecksforerrors.AfterthissequenceOFFisdisplayedandthemachineisreadytobe
operated.YoushouldthenconnectacontainerofJEMHYDROSONICFLUIDtothefluidpipeensuringa
tightfit.YoushouldthendepresstheENTERbuttononthecontrolpanel,FILLshouldnowbedisplayed
(ifthemaintankhadnotbeenemptiedthelasttimethemachinewasusedFILLwillonlybedisplayedfora
shorttime)themaintanktakesapproximatelytwominitestofilltothecorrectlevel.O Nisnowdisplayedon
thecontroller,youcannowsettheoutputlevelsrequired.DepresstheMENUbuttonRUNisdisplayed,then
usingthe(+)and(-)buttonsselectOUTPonthedisplaypanel(thisistheoutputmenu)youthendepress
ENTER,FANorTRANwillbedisplayedFANisthemainfanthatthrowstheeffectoutofthefrontofthe
machinethiscanbesetfrom20%to100%andalsohasanAUTOsettingthatvariestheoutputfrom20%to
100%automaticly.WhenFANisdisplayeddepressenterandthecurrentlevelisshown,tochangethelevel
usethe(+)and(-)buttonsuntilthedesiredlevelisdisplayed.O ncesellecteddepressENTERandFAN
willbedisplayed,tosettheoutputleveloftheeffectdepressthe(+)buttonandTRANwillbedisplayed.As
beforedepressENTERandselecttheoutputlevelusingthe(+)and(-)buttons,oncethelevelissetdepress
ENTER.Nowthemachineisreadytooperate,depresstheMENUbuttonuntilRUNisdisplayedandthen
depressENTER.Youcannowsettheruntime,theHYDROSONICwilloperatecontinuouslyaslongasfluid
ispresentinthecontainer,youcanhoweversetapredeterminedruntimefrom1minuteto10hours.Tosetthe
timeusethe(+)and(-)buttonsuntilyo uhaveyourdesiredtimeoryoucansettheHYDROSONICtorun
continuously,ifyouwishtodothissettheruntimetoCONT.OnceyouhavethecorrectsettingsdepressENTER
andtheHYDROSONICwillstart.Ifyouwishtochangeanyoftheoutputsettingsyoumaydosowhilethe
HYDROSONICisrunning,simplyfollowthesameinstructionsasbeforeensuringtodepressENTERwhenyou
havethecorrectsettings.TheHYDROSONICwillnowoperateforthesettimeoruntilthefluidisused,you
maychangethefluidcontainerwhilethemachineisrunningsonottostoptheeffect.IftheHYDROSONIC
runsoutoffluidt heeffectwillstopandanerrormessagewillbedisplayedNOFL(nofluid)ifthishappensyou
shouldrestartthemachineafterchangingthefluidcontainer.

TURNINGOFF
ThereisaroutineforswitchingtheHYDROSONICoffafteryouhavefinishedusingit.Themaintank
shouldbeemptiedonaregularbasisandshouldalwaysbeemptiedwhentransportingtheHYDROSONIC.
FailuretodosocanreducetheperformanceoftheHYDROSONIC.Itissuggestedthatthemaintankisemp-
tiedonadailybasis,afteroperatingtheHYDROSONICdepresstheMENUbuttonuntilONisdisplayed,then
depressENTER.EPTYwillbedisplayedandthepumpwillreverseemptyingthemaintankintothefluid
container(youmustensurethereisamaximumof6.5litresinthefluidcontainerwhenempt yingthemain
tank).Thisoperationtakesapproximatelytwominutes,afterthetankisemptyOFFwillbedisplayedonthe
controllerandyoucanswitchtheHYDROSONICoffwiththemainsswitch.IftheHYDROSONICisswitched
offviathemainsswitchwithoutthemaintankbeenemptiedonaregularbasistheperformancewilldetriate.
NOTE!ALWAYSCHECKTHATTHEREISLESSTHAN6.5LITRESINTHEFLUIDCONTAINER
BEFORESTARTINGTHETURNINGOFFSEQUENCE.
TheHYDROSONICmaybeleftinastandbymodeifyouareplanningonusingitintermittentlythroughoutthe
day.Thereisnoneedtoemptythemaintankbetweentheinterval,simplyselectRUNonthecontrollerdisplay
bydepressingtheMENUand(+)buttons,depressENTERandusingthe(-)buttonselect"0".DepressENTER
andthemachinewillstopproducingtheeffect.TheHYDROSONICisnowinastandbymodewithacorrect
leveloffluidinthemaintank,whenyouwishtorestarttheHYDROSONICselectRUNonthedisplay,depress
ENTERandsetthedesiredruntimeusingthe(+)button.Oncethecorrectti meisdisplayeddepressENTERand
theeffectwillstart.
