3.4 TOOLS
3.4.1 Names of tools
On Mono spindle machines with PTO technology, the tools are numbered using 5 digits.
This is the numbering principle:
T = Tool
P = Station
Sy = Tool system
Sp = Support
D = Geometry
Station (P)
Spindle = Station 1
Counter spindle = Station 2
Tool system (Sy)
-Mainwork gang1 = System 1
-Mainwork gang2 = System 2
-Frontwork = System 3
-Backwork = System 4
Tool support (Sp)
-System 01 = Supports 01, 02, 03, 04, 05
-System 02 = Supports 01, 02, 03, 04, 05
-System 03 = Supports 01, 02, 03, 04
-System 04 (frontwork) = Supports 01, 02, 03, 04
-System 04 = Supports 11, 12, 13
Tool geometry (D)
- Supports 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 = D0, D1, …,D9
- Supports 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 = D0, D1, …,D9
- Supports 01, 02, 03, 04 = D0, D1, …,D9
- Supports 01, 02, 03 = D0, D1, …,D9
- Supports 11, 12, 13, 1 = D0, D1, …,D9
Example 1: T1203 D0 (or T12030) T = Tool
1 = Station 1 (spindle S11)
2 = System 2
03 = Position 3 on the system
0 = Geometry 0 of the tool
Example 2: T2402 D1 (or T24021) T = Tool
2 = Station 2 (counter spindle S41)
4 = System 4
02 = Position 2 on the system
1 = Geometry 1 of the tool
