1 Introduction
ToenableyoutointegrateyourMoistureAnalyzerinyourelectronicdatasysteminasim-
plemannerandutilizetheircapabilitiestothefull,mostMoistureAnalyzerfunctionsare
availableasappropriatecommandsviathedatainterface.
Standardization of the commands
All new METTLER TOLEDO balances and Moisture Analyzers support the standardized
command set “METTLERTOLEDOStandardInterfaceCommandSet”(MT-SICS),whichis
dividedinto4levels,dependingonthefunctionalityoftheequipment:
• MT-SICSlevel0 Commandsetforthesimplestbalance,e.g.weighingcell
• MT-SICSlevel1 Extensionofthecommandsetforstandardbalances,i.e.balances
without integrated applications
• MT-SICS level 2 Extension of the command set family
• MT-SICSlevel3 Application-speciccommandsasindependentcommandset,
e.g. MT-SICS level 3 for Halogen Moisture Analyzers HB43-S
AparticulardistinguishingfeatureofthisconceptisthatthecommandscombinedinMT-
SICSlevel0and1areidenticalforallbalancesandinstruments.Boththesimplestweigh-
ingbalanceandaMoistureAnalyzerrecognizethecommandsofMT-SICSlevel0.
What do the commands of MT-SICS level 0 and 1 offer?
You can use the commands of MT-SICS level 0 and 1 to perform the following operations
oftheMoistureAnalyzerviatheinterface:
• requestweighingresults(rawdata),
• zerothebalance,
• identifyMT-SICSimplementation(versionnumber),
• identifytheMoistureAnalyzer(serialnumber),
• resettheMoistureAnalyzer,
• control the display.
The commands of MT-SICS level 2 and 3 for the Moisture Analyzer
All additional higher level functions for the Moisture Analyzer are collected in the com-
mands of MT-SICS level 2 and 3.
Whencreatingyoursoftwareapplication,pleasenotethatthecommandsofMT-SICSlevel
3applytoyourapplicationandcannotbesupportedbyeveryMETTLERTOLEDObalance
or instrument.
Most commands in this manual are identical for the HB43-S and the other Moisture
Analyzers of METTLER TOLEDO.
