Comparethe illustrations with your pressurewasher to familiarize yourself with the locations of various controls and
adjustments. Savethis manualfor future reference.
A - Spray Gun-- Controls the application of water onto
cleaningsurface with trigger device, includes trigger lock.
B - Master ON/OFFToggle Switch -- Pushtop of switch in
( I) to turn pressure washer ON. Push Bottom of switch
in (0) to turn pressure washer OFF.
C- Electric Cord with GFCI-- Theelectric pressure washer
and operator is protected by a ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI).
D- Water Supply Inlet -- Connectto watersupply using a
50 ft. (15.24 m) maximum garden hose.
E - Warning Labels -- identifies hazardsto be avoidedwhen
using your pressure washer.
F - HoseReel -- Provides convenientstoragefor high

pressure washer. Identify all contents with the illustration

ASSEMBLINGPRESSUREWASHER
Your Craftsmanpressurewasher will needassembly before
operation:
1. Fill out and send in registration card.
2. Assemblemain unit.
3. Assemblehose reel.
4. Lubricate O-rings.
5. Connecthoses and water supply.
6. Connectwand.
7. Connectfoam lance.
Assemble MainUnit
1. Slide wheelshafts (A) into holesat sides of main unit (F).
Wheels are installed correctly when you hear a CLICKand
they are securely in place.
2. install decorative shield (B) if equipped, and secureusing
two screws.
NOTICE Asthe screws areturned in, they will break
through the front of the unit allowing you to secure the
decorativeshield.

Slide the handle(C) into the slots at top of main unit.
install two (2) screws to secure the handle to the main
unit.
Slide accessorytray (D) into slots at back of main unit.
Install two (2) screws to secure the accessorytray to the
main unit.
Match the contour of the decorative handlemolding (E)
with that of the handle.Slide decorative handlemolding
into handle opening until it snaps into place.

Assernble HoseReel
When performing the following assembly procedures, pay
close attention to the illustration at the bottom of this page.
NOTICE Thehandle isshown removedfrom the unit for
clarity.
1. Assemble both halves of hosereel (A) and secure using
four screws.
2. Slide handle (B) intohexagon hole of hose reeland
secure using one screw.
3. Placehosereel assembly(C) into slots of handle (B).
4. Placelarge retainer (E)on right sideof hose reel shaft as
shown, and secure using two screws. Placesmall retainer
(F) on left side of hose reel shaft as shown, andsecure
using two screws.
5. insert one end of high pressure hose (6) into opening of
hose reel(H).
6. Turn handleto wind hosearound hose reel (J).

LubricateO-Rings
Lubrication of o-rings is extremely important for installation
and operation. Theuseof a lubricant (petroleum or synthetic
grease)during assembly helpsseat o-rings properly and
provides an improved seal. It also helps protect the o-ring
from damageby abrasion, pinching or cutting and extends
the life of the o-ring.
NOTICE ALWAYSapply a small amount of lubricant on
o-rings prior to assembling the garden hoseto the pump
(A), high pressure hose(pump end) (B), high pressure hose
(gun end) (C), turbo wand (gun end) (D), adjustable fan
jet wand (fan jet end) (E) and adjustablefan jet wand (gun
end) (F).
Lubricate all connectionsshown below, following these
instructions:
1. inspect and cleanconnecting surfacesprior to lubrication
and assembly.
2. Uselubricants sparingly during assembly;a light film is
all that is required.
3. Usea small brush or cotton swab to apply greasedirectly
to o-rings where they are not accessible (QCfitting, M22
fitting).
ConnectHosesandWater Supply
NOTICE Use ONLYcold water (less than 100°F).
1. Attach garden hose(50 ft. / 15.24 m maximum) to water
supply.
2. Runwater through garden hosefor 30 secondsto flush
the hoseof debris. Turn off water.
3. Confirm that water inlet screen (A) is installed in water
inlet located at lower front of unit; Do Not removeexcept
for cleaning.
NOTICE If inlet screen is damagedor missing, DONOT
use electric pressure washer. Call1-800-222-3136 for
assistance.
NOTICE DONOT run the pump without thewater supply
connectedand turned on.
Damageto equipment resulting from failure to follow
this instruction will void warranty.
4. Attach opposite end of garden hose(B) to the water inlet
coupling (C). Tighten by hand.
5. Completely removethe highpressure hosefrom hose
reel.Attach high pressure hose (B) to the unit's water
outlet (E) located at lower backof unit. Tighten by hand.

Attach opposite end of high pressure hoseto the spray
gun. Press red button (F) on spray gun, then insert end
of high pressure hose (G) into gun until it SNAPSinto
place. Releasethe red button and makesure connection
is secure.
ConnectWand
1. Turn ONwater, point gun in a safedirection, press trigger
release(H), then squeezetrigger (J) to purge pump
system and spray gun of air and impurities.

insert and twist desiredwand (1()into spray gun (IVl).
Oncewand slides into gun, applyfurther inward pressure
to wand and twist 1/4 turn clockwise until securely in
place.
3. Turn OFFwater and releasetrigger. Point gun in a safe
direction and make suretrigger cannot be squeezed.
ConnectFoamLance

insert the adjustablefan jet wand (N) into spray gun (P).
Oncewand slides into gun, applyfurther inward pressure
to wand and twist 1/4 turn clockwise until securely in
place.

Slide thefoam lance(Q) onto the adjustablefan jet wand
(R). Apply further inward pressure to wand until you hear
a CLICKand the locking tab (S) falls into placeover the
lip (T) of the wand. Tug on foam lanceto make sure it is
securely in place.

Howto Start YourElectricPressureWasher
A WARNING Risk of eyeinjury. Spraycould splash

Alwayswear indirect vented (chemicalsplash)
safety goggles markedto comply with ANSi
Z87.1 when using or in vicinity of this equipment. NEVER
substitute safety glassesor dry-condition gogglesfor
indirect ventedsafety goggles.
3. To removefoam lance, lift up on locking tab (R) and pull
it away from the wand.
ChecklistBeforeStarting PumpMotor
Reviewthe unit's assemblyto ensureyou haveperformed all
of the following.
1. Besure to read OperatorSafetyand Operationbefore
using the electric pressure washer.
2. Checkfor properly tightened hoseconnections.
3. Checkto makesure there are no kinks, cuts, or damage
to hoses.
4. Providea proper water supply atan adequateflow (not to
exceed 100°F).
5. Plug electrical cord into aproperly grounded electrical
source.
1. Placethe electric pressurewasher near an outside water
source capableof supplying water at aflow rate greater
than 3 gallons per minute (11.4 I) and no less than 20 psi
(1.38 bars) at the electric pressurewasher end of garden
hose. DONOTsiphon supply water.
2. Connectgarden hoseto water inlet.
3. Checkthat high pressure hoseis tightly connectedto
spray gun. See ConnectHosesand WaterSupplyfor
illustrations.
NOTICE DONOTrun the pump without the water supply
connectedand turned on.
Damageto equipment resulting from failure to follow
this instruction will void warranty.
4. Turn ONwater, point gun in a safe direction, press trigger
lock button and squeezetrigger to purge pump system of
air.
5. Removeany dirt or foreign matterfrom nozzles, install
desiredwand onto spray gun. See ConnectHosesand
WaterSupply and How to Use the Wandsfor details.
6. Pressthe master ON/OFFswitch (A) to the OFF(0)
position.

Plug electrical power cord into an electrical circuit rated
for 120 Volts ACat 15 Amps that is properly installed
and grounded in accordancewith all local codes and
ordinances. Theindicator light on the GFCIshould appear.
NOTICE Theindicator light must be visible for the electric
pressure washer to operate.
8. PressTESTbutton (B). The indicator light (D) should
disappear.
Howto Stop YourElectricPressureWasher
The electricpressure washer motor runs only when the
trigger is engaged.To stop the electric pressure washer and
turn off the motor:
1. Releasespray gun trigger.
2. Pressthe master ON/OFFswitch to the OFF(0) position.
NOTICE Releasingthe trigger will shut off the motor but
does not shut off electrical power to the unit.
3. Turn off water supply.
4. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in a safe direction and squeeze
spray gun trigger to relievebuilt up pressure inthe unit.
A WARNING The high pressure stream of water that this
_ equipment produces could cut through skin and
its underlying tissues, resulting in serious injury
and possible amputation.
Spray gun traps high water pressure,evenwhen motor is
stopped and water is disconnected,which could result in
serious injury.
Keephigh pressure hoseconnectedto pump and spray
gun while system is pressurized.
ALWAYSpoint spray gun in safedirection, squeeze
spray gun trigger to releasehigh pressure, everytime
you turn off pressure washer.
9. Press RESETbutton (C). Theindicator light (D) should
illuminate.
NOTICE DONOTusethe electric pressure washerif above
test fails.
10.Pressthe master ON/OFFswitch to the ON( I) position.
11.Point gun in a safedirection, presstrigger lock button
and squeezetrigger. The electricpressure washermotor
will start and stop as spray gun trigger is depressedand
released.
Theelectric pressurewasher is now readyfor use.
instructions for useof the supplied accessoriesare given
later in this section.
5. DisconnectGFCIplug from outlet and coil power cord.
6. Wrap high pressure hose on hose reel.
7. Flush detergent bottle (if used) by removing it from the
foam lanceand pouring out all remaining solution.
8. Rinsedetergent bottle out with fresh cleanwater and
reinstall onto foam lance.
9. Coil and store power cord, spray gun and accessorieson
the accessorytray.
Howto Usethe Wands
You should now be familiar with how to STARTand STOP
your electric pressure washer. If not, pleasereferto the
previous section to familiarize yourself with STARTINGand
STOPPINGthe system before continuing.
Thereare two wands supplied with the pressurewasher.
Theturbo wand whirls a powerful pin-point jet of water
for intense cleaning.The adjustablefan jet wand allows
you to adjust the spray pattern for various high pressure
applications.
UsageTips
* Formost effectivecleaning, keepnozzlefrom 8 to 24
inches awayfrom cleaning surface.
, if you get nozzletoo close, especiallyusing a high
pressure setting, you may damagesurface being
cleaned.
, Do Not get closer than 6 incheswhen cleaning tires.

ApplyingDetergent

Follow all manufacturers instructions.
To appJydetergent, follow these steps:
1. Reviewuseof wands shown in How to Usethe Wands.
2. Prepareyour detergent solution as requiredby job to be
performed.
3. Rotatedetergent bottle (A) counter-clockwise and remove
from foam lance(B).

4. Fill bottle with detergentsolution.
5. Reinstalldetergent bottle onto foam lanceandturn
clockwise until it clicks into place.
NOTICE Detergentcannot be appliedwhen adjusted to high
pressure.
6. Makesure garden hoseis connectedto water inlet. Check
that high pressure hoseis connectedto spray gun and
pump. Turn on water.
NOTICE You must attach all hoses beforeyou start the
pressure washer.
7. Start the pressure washer as instructed in How to Start
YourElectric Pressure Washer.
To adjust detergent mixture (point wand nozzle away from
you):
* Nodetergent dispensed -- Turn spray adjustment
barrel (C) fully clockwise.
* IVlostdetergent dispensed -- Turn spray adjustment
barrel (C) to center position.
* Least detergent dispensed -- Turn spray adjustment
barrel (C) fully counter-clockwise.
8. Apply detergent to a dry surface, starting at lower portion
of areato bewashed andwork upward using long, even,
overlapping strokes.
9. Allow detergent to "soak in" for 3-5 minutes before
washing and rinsing. Reappiyasneededto prevent
surfacefrom drying. To prevent streaking, Do Not allow
detergent to dry on surface.
ElectricPressureWasher Rinsing
1. Removefoam lancefrom wand.

PRESSUREWASHERMAINTENANCE
Clean Debris
Dailyor beforeuse, clean accumulateddebris from electric
pressure washer. Inspect cooling air slots and openings on
the front, rear and bottom of the electric pressurewasher.
Theseopenings must be kept clean and unobstructed.
Theelectric pressurewasher parts should be kept cleanto
reducethe risk of overheating and ignition of accumulated
debris.
Usea damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean.
NOTICE Improper treatment of the electric pressure washer
can damageit and/or shorten its life.
DONOTinsert any objects through cooling slots.

CheckandCleanWater Inlet Screen NozzleMaintenance
Removewater inlet coupling (A). Then removewater inlet
screen (B) from the unit's water inlet (C) using a needle nose
pliers. Water inlet is located at bottom front of unit. Examine
water inlet screen. If the screen is dirty, cleanwith a small
brush and water, if the screen is damaged, replaceit.
CheckHighPressureHose
The high pressure hosecan developleaksfrom wear,
kinking, or abuse, inspect the hoseeachtime beforeusing it.
Checkfor cuts, leaks,abrasions or bulging of cover, damage
or movement of couplings. If anyof these conditions exist,
replacethe hose immediately.
WARNING The high pressure stream of water that this
_ quipment produces could cut through skin and
its underlying tissues, resulting in serious injury
and possible amputation.
* NEVERrepair high pressure hose.Replaceit.
* Replacementhose rating MUSTequal or exceed
maximum pressure rating of unit.
CheckSprayGun
Examinethe hose connectionto the spray gun and makesure
it is secure.Test the trigger (B) by pressing the trigger lock
button (E) and making sure the trigger "springs back"into
placewhen you releaseit. You should not be able to press
the trigger without pressing the trigger lock button. Replace
spray gun immediately if it fails any of these tests.
Excessivepump pressure can causea pulsing sensation felt
while squeezingthe spray gun trigger. The principal cause
of excessivepump pressure is a nozzleclogged or restricted
with foreign materialssuch as dirt, etc. A clogged nozzle
could lead to pump cycling ON/OFFor notturning on even
when there is some flow.
To correct the problem, immediately cleanthe nozzleby
following these instructions:
1. Pressthe master ON/OFFswitch to the OFF(0) position.
Removepower cord plug from electrical outlet.
2. Disconnectwater supply at the electric pressure washer.
3. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in asafe direction, presstrigger
lock button and squeezespraygun trigger to release
retainedhigh water pressure.

stopped and water is disconnected,which could result in

you turn off pressure washer.

insert end of wire tip cleaner(F) repeatedlyinto small
opening of nozzle(G) to removeany clog or sediment
buildup. The wire tip cleaneris stored at the lower back
left of the unit.
5. Make sure garden hose is connectedto water inlet. Check
that high pressure hose is connectedto spray gun and
pump. Turn on water.
6. Plug power cord into electrical outlet and press the
master ON/OFFswitch to the ON( I ) position.
7. Testthe electric pressurewasher by operating with the
wand.
PumpandMotor Maintenance
The electric pressure washer does not require any
maintenanceto the pump or motor. Both assembliesare pre-
lubricated and sealed, requiring no additional lubrication ever.

AFTEREACHUSE
Water should not remainin the unit for long periods of
time. Sedimentsor minerals can deposit on pump parts and
"freeze" pump action. Follow theseprocedures afterevery
use:
1. Turn off water supply, point gun in a safedirection, press
trigger lock button and squeezetrigger to relievetrapped
pressure.
2. Disconnectgarden hosefrom the water supply andthe
electric pressure washer.
3. Disconnecthose from spray gun and high pressure outlet
on pump. Drainwater from hose, gun, and wand. Usea
rag to wipe off the hose.
4. Drainwater from pump by tipping unit on its front side
(water inletfacing down).
5. Coilpower cord and store on accessorytray.
6. Wrap high pressure hoseon hose reel.
7. Store unit in a clean, dry area.

Storageon next page.

WINTERORLONGTERMSTORAGE Protectingthe Pump

Initial Storage Procedures
1. Flushdetergent bottle (if used)by removing it from the
foam lance and pouring out all remainingsolution.
2. Rinsedetergent bottle out with fresh cleanwater and
reinstall onto foam lance.
3. Runthe electric pressurewasher with wand setto high
pressure spray. Flushfor one or two minutes.
4. Pressthe master ON/OFFswitch to the OFF(0) position.
Removepower cord plug from electricaloutlet.
5. Turn off water supply. Point gun in a safedirection, press
trigger lock button and squeezetrigger to relievetrapped
pressure.After a few moments, releasetrigger on spray
gun.
6. Disconnectgarden hosefrom the water supply andthe
electric pressure washer. Disconnectpressure hose from
the pump and the spray gun.
7. Drainwater from hosesand spray gun, then usea cloth
or equivalent to wipe off all exterior surfaces.
8. Ensurethat inlet andoutlet hoses are disconnectedfrom
the pump. Then drain water from pump by tipping unit on
its front side (water inlet facing down).
NOTICE Water left in the pump could freezeand damagethe
pump.
To protect the pump from damagecaused by mineral
deposits or freezing, use PumpSaver,Model 6039, to treat
pump. This preventsfreeze damageand lubricates plunger
and seals.
NOTICE PumpSaveris availableas an optional accessory, it
is not includedwith the electric pressure washer. Contactthe
nearestauthorized service centerto purchase PumpSaver.
NOTICEYou must protect your unit from freezing
temperatures.
Failureto do so will permanently damageyour pump
and render your unit inoperable.
Freezedamageis not covered under warranty.
To usePumpSaver,make surethe electric pressure washer
is turned off and inlet and outlet hosesare disconnected.
Readand follow all instructions and warnings given on the
PumpSavercontainer.
Final Storage Procedures
1. Coil power cord and store on accessorytray.
2. Wrap high pressure hose on hose reel.
3. Store spray gun and accessorieson accessorytray.
4. Store unit in a clean, dry areathat is protectedfrom
freezing temperatures.
5. Cover unit with a suitable protective cover that does not
retainmoisture.
