Safety warnings for
batteries
When used correctly, cells and
batteries provide a safe and dep
end-
able source of portable power.
However, if they are misused or
abused, this may result in leakage,
burns, fire, or explosion.
Store batteries in a dry place at
room temperature. Batteries are
sensitive to high and low tempera-
tures. Such thermal exposure may
lead to leakage, fire, or explosion.
Keep cells and batteries out of
reach of children, especially small
batteries. Ingestion may lead to
burns, perforation of soft tissue,
choking, acute and serious personal
injury, or even death. Severe burns
can occur within 2 h of ingestion.
Keep cells or batteries clean and
dry both during use and storage.
9 US-EN
Wipe metal terminals with a soft,
dry cloth if they become dirty.
Immediately seek medical attention
if a cell or battery has been swal-
lowed. Also, contact your local
poison control center.
In the event that the electrolyte
comes into contact with the skin or
eyes, immediately flush with fresh
water for at least 15 minutes and
seek medical attention.
Store unused batteries in their orig-
inal packaging or in safe place and
away from metal objects that may
short-circuit them.
Exercise care in handling batteries
in order to prevent shorting with
conduct
ing materials, such as ri
ngs,
coins, bracelets, and keys. The bat-
tery or the conductor can overheat
and cause burns, leakage, fire, or
explosion.
Clean the battery contacts and
also those of the product prior to
battery installation. Keep the con-
tacts clean.
Remove batteries from the product
that will not be used for an extended
period of time (months or longer).
Remove discharged batteries from
product promptly to avoid possible
damage from leakage.
Choose the proper battery for the
intended application.
Always take care to correctly insert
batteries observing (+) and (-) po-
larity marks on the battery and the
product for which it is intended.
Proper polarity must be observed to
avoid damage to either product or
batteries.
Always replace the whole set of
batteries at one time, taking care
n
ot to mix old and new ones, or ba
t-
teries of different types, capacities,
or manufacturers.
Never heat batteries in order to
revive them.
Never charge a battery unless the
battery label specifically states the
battery is rechargeable. Charging
a non-rechargeable battery, may
result in leakage, fire, or explosion.
Do not open or mutilate a battery
or cell. Electrolyte from the cell is
10 US-EN
corrosive and can cause damage
to the eyes or skin. The cell contents
can also be hazardous if ingested.
Do not drop or subject the cell or
battery to strong mechanical shock.
Batteries should not be disassem-
bled, crushed, punctured, or other-
wise mutilated. Such abuses may
result in leakage, fire, or explosion.
Do not dispose of the battery in a
fire. Failure to observe this precau-
tion may result in an explosion.
Dispose of batteries properly and
in accordance with government
regulations.
Do not short-circuit the connection
terminals.
This product contains 1 lithium button / coin cell battery. If new or used
lithium button / coin cell batteries are swallowed or enter the body,
they can cause severe internal burns and can lead to death in as little
as 2 hours. Do not use the product if you detect any kind of damage
and keep it away from children.
If you think batteries may have been swallowed or placed inside any
part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

Use
Set the product on a solid, level and flat surface
to weigh.
Weighing
To activate the product, you can simply put a load
(e.g. included weighing bowl 1) and items
weighing at least 8.8 oz (250 g) onto the weigh-
ing platform 5. Or you can push down on the
weighing platform 5 with a certain amount of
force to activate the product. Press the TARE but-
ton 3 to reset the numerical display 8 to “0”.

weighing platform 5. The numerical display 8
will show the weight of the item you are weighing.
Note: You only need to lightly press the TARE
button 3 and the UNIT button 4 to operate the
product. Excessive pressure may cause the prod-
uct to tip. During this time the weighing equipment
on the product is adjusting. Afterwards the numeri-
cal display 8 will read “0”. The unit display 9
will show the last unit selected.
Note: If the weighing bowl 1 was already on
the scale when it was switched on, only the weight
of the food is displayed. However, if you place the
weighing bowl 1 on the product after you have
switched it on, the product will indicate the weight
of weighing bowl 1. You can press the button
TARE 3 at any time to reset the numerical display
8 to “0”. The “Tare“ symbol 11 will appear.
Place the item you wish to weigh in the weighing
bowl 1. The numerical display 8 will show the

Incremental weighing
If any food is already in the weighing bowl 1,
the weight of the food and the bowl 1 will be
shown in the the numerical display 8.
Touching the TARE 3 button with the product on
will reset the numerical display 8 to “0”. The
“Tare” symbol 11 will appear.
Now add another item to weigh to the weighing
bowl 1. The numerical display 8 will show the

If you remove the item you added from the weigh-
ing bowl 1, the numerical display 8 will again
read “0”.
12 US-EN
If you remove all items from the product, the LC
display 2 will show a negative value, as indi-
cated by the minus symbol 10 .
Then briefly touch the TARE 3 button and the “Tare”
symbol 11 will disappear.
Important! Never add more than 11 lb (5 kg) to
the weighing bowl 1. Overloading the product

unit of weight “oz” (ounce, 1oz ~ 28.35 g) or “lb’oz”
(pound:ounce, 1 lb=16 oz=453.59 g), as well as the
official European measuring unit “g” (grams).
When measuring the volume of water, the product
calculates it by the weight using traditional unit of
measure fl’oz (fluid ounces, 1fl’oz ~ 28.41ml) or the
official European unit of volume “ml” (milliliters).
To switch the unit of measure, briefly touch the UNIT
button 4. After each time it is touched, the unit dis-
play 9 will switch to the next unit listed:
oz → lb‘oz → fl‘oz → g → ml

switch off the product. If no movement is detected
on the weighing bowl 1 for 3 minutes and no
button is pressed, the product will automatically
switch off.
