Please read this manual carefully before using the

device to ensure eﬃcient and safe operation. Used

correctly, your device will give you excellent inspec-

tion results and high durability.

The MATRIX is a modular platform that provides

multiple functions and beneﬁts for a wide variety of

inspection tasks and for your image and video data

documentation. The MATRIX also converts your

analog video data into high-resolution digital formats.

Your existing video systems, ﬁbrescopes, videoscopes

and camera systems can also be easily connected.

In order to ensure the safe performance of your

system, please read the following advice and

warnings carefully. Observing these notes will

also serve to protect your own personal safety

and the safety of others around you.

All notes, rules of conduct, suggestions, advice,

warnings and instructions apply exclusively to

the operation of the the MATRIX and not to

devices of any other manufacturers.

If you have any questions that are not directly

answered in these operating instructions, your local

viZaar® representative or viZaar®directly will be

happy to provide you with advice and guidance.

Before initial operation, the operator must read

and understand these operating instructions com-

pletely in order to avoid damage to life and pro-

perty. Operation of the device without

understanding the operating instructions is never

permitted. The device is designed exclusively for

industrial use by personnel trained in all technical

matters.

Extensive knowledge of the device, the testing

technology, the safety instructions and the indu-

strial eld of application is absolutely necessary

for both a damage-free operation of the device

and not endangering the personnel and the wor-

king environment.

The device must never be connected to electrical

mains if you have not understood these instructi-

ons including safety warnings or if you cannot or

do not want to use the device according to the re-

gulations.

viZaar®is never liable for the consequences of

faulty test results, the loss of inspection data or

any damage caused to plant equipment during

the inspection.

1.1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This device is used to examine and observe the in-

terior of machines, devices, materials and other

objects without damaging the object in question.

Do NOT use the device in areas where explosive

gases may form. The corresponding ambient

conditions (see page 16 ﬀ.) must be observed.

OTHER APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ALLOWED!

The device is not a medical device as dened

within the EU directive 93/42/EEC.

Intended use also includes following the

guidance in these operating instructions and ob-

serving the maintenance instructions (chapter 6,

page 73).

The MATRIX units are NOT explosion proof and

should NOT be used in areas where there is a risk

of explosion.

The examined object must not contain any

corrosive substances that could attack the

components of the device. This includes acids in

particular. viZaar®does not assume any liability

for any corrosion damage caused by such

substances.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION

COUTION Risk of falling due to uneven surfaces:

Possible injury and damage to the device

never strore or place the case and/or the device on uneven ground•

ATTENTION Physical impact on camera head or device:

Risk of damaging camera, device and/or single components

the product should only be stored in the transport case designed by the•

manufacturer

Do not drop the camera•

ATTENTION The battery remeins in the device:

Negative eﬀects on the performance and possible damage to the battery

remove the battery from the device when stored•

make sure to store the battery at room temperature•

ATTENTION Humid environment, high temperatures, lots of dust and suspend particles:

Possible damage to the device and/or components

do not expose the transport case and base unit to water•

store the device in a dry environment. Even when it is stored in the case•

do not store in direct sunlight•

do not store in environments that contain halogenated gases•

ATTENTION Tensile load of camera or cable:

Possible damage to device or components

do not move the device by pulling probe or cable•

ATTENTION Carelessly closing the transport case:

Possible damage to components or device

disconnect control unit and device before closing the case•

remove the power pack before closing the case•

always make sure to properly store each component before closing the case•

PUTTING INTO SERVICE

WARNING Electric shock:

Can cause physical damage or even death

operation only on an AC voltage system of 100-240 VAC / 50-60Hz•

the use of a residual current circuit breaker (according to DIN VDE 0100-•

701:2008-10 or DIN VDE 0100-410:2018-10) or an isolating transformer is

mandatory during mains operation

only connect to sockets with a ground conductor•

do not use extension cables longer than 25 meters•

only inspect applications and surroundings that are not under electrical voltage•

ATTENTION Application and device habe diﬀerent operating temperatures:

do not insert the probe into corrosive chemicals•

never touch solvent based liquids with the camera•

WARNING Rotating system components:

Risk of physical damage and destruction of the camera

only operate the device in plant components and areas that are shut down•

COUTION Light ar camera head:

Possible damage to the eye/retina, risk of dazzling and temporary or permanent

loss of sight

never look directly into the light at the camera head•

ATTENTION Risk of overheating and/or short circuit:

Damage to device and environment

always turn oﬀ the device after inspections and during work interruptions and•

disconnect it from the mains power.

ATTENTION Covering the base unit with a blanket or trap:

Risk of damage to the device

covering the base unit can impact the ventilation and cooling system of the•

device, therefore it should never be covered in use

ATTENTION Removing external data carriers (e.g. USB-sticks) while copying data:

make sure the data carrier is connected correctly•

wait until the process is ﬁnished before removing the carrier•

in case of technical problems or malfunctions, the system has to be checked•

by the manufacturer

precautionary, the system should be checked at least once a year•

in case of technical problems of malfunctions, the system has to be shut down•

immediately and be disconnected from the mains power, to prevent

from further damage and potential risks

waterproof components can be cleaned with a cloth and soapy water•

All technical data applies exclusively to devices of standard design at an ambient temperature of 22 ±3 °C and a mains voltage ﬂuctuation of ±10 %. All data

The MATRIX is ready for use with items 1 to 4 plus an

optional adapter (10/11/12, see page 20).

To operate the MATRIX with the camera heads SNK
