How to Plunge a Sink

Cover Vents/Openings

Cover sink vents or openings with a wet rag.
Common examples include:
Dishwasher vent Sink overflow opening
Add Water

Ensure there is enough water in the sink
to cover the base of the plunger.
Plunge

Angle plunger into the sink, letting the head fill
with water as you completely cover the drain.
Pulse plunger in even up-and-down motion
for 10-15 seconds, then break the seal.
Repeat this process until the water drains/clog is cleared.
Clear Debris

Once the clog is cleared, run hot water to clear out
any leftover debris and help prevent future clogs.
