introduction
Suncontrol is the charging device that can
maximize your p h ot ov o lta i c m o d u l e s
performances.
Designed and assembled by nds, Suncontrol
(depending on model) can handle up to 240W in
input, with a maximum charge of 20A. The
microprocessor can execute up to 4 charge
phases, including the important desulphation
phase which guarantees longer battery life.
WARNINGS
Child Safety: Keep the device Out of Reach.
carefully check the integrity of the device
and connectors.
To avoid overheating and possible fires do
not install the device in a sealed
environment, Always choose a well
ventilated area.
Do not place the device on highly flammable
surfaces or environments (eg: paper, cloth,
etc.).
do not cover the cooling slits on the side
and the fan on the top.
protect the device from sunlight or direct
sources of heat.
do not install the device near flooded
batteries: they produce flammable,
corrosive and explosive gas while working,
and it can damage the product.
To avoid malfunctions, DO NOT install and
use the device in very humid environments, in
contact with water splashes, various
liquids, or exposed to rain.

FEATURES
Suncontrol i s a n a u t o m at i c v o lta g e
regulator device that (in the standard
version), optimize recharge for 12V leisure
batteries. Suncontrol supports the
following types of technologies: lead acid,
GEL, AGM or Lithium and solar panels with 12V
rated voltage.
the Suncontrol model SC 15-240 allows the
leisure batteries charging using solar panels
with rated voltage of 12V.
It has two separate inputs for two solar
panels up to 240W (120W maximum power each),
with 12V rated voltage.
The system has two outputs: one for leisure
batteries and the other one for starting
battery, both allowing the batteries to be
charged and maintained.
two indication LEDs (green and yellow) one for
charging the leisure battery, the other for
charging the starting battery. the charging
curve is selectable by two jumpers.
4
Installation
To make the electrical connections
comfortable and set the right charging curve,
open the device cover by lightly and carefully
pressing the tabs placed side by side on the
device, using a small screwdriver.
once the cover is removed you have direct
access to the PCB, then to the FASTON for
connecting the device to solar panels and
batteries; It is also possible to select the
charging curve and the replacement of the
fuses (if necessary) as shown in the following
figure (fig.2).
5
charging curve selection
the jumpers on the card allows to select the
right charging curve for the installed leisure
battery.
using no jumper connection will exclude the
desulphation phase from the charging curve,
which is useful if there are on-board control
units and household appliances sensible to
voltages higher than 15V.
Note: the default setting is for limited
voltage 14,5V - config. 4 (with no jumper
connected).

operation
the two leds (green and yellow) shows if the
charge is active on one or both battery
(leisure and starting).
the flashing green led indicates “leisure
battery charging”.
t h e f l as h i n g y e llow l e d i n d i c at e s
“starting battery charging”.
An increase in the flashing frequency
indicates a higher current flow.
N.B: When the sun goes down the solar
panels interrupts power supply, the
system terminates charging by entering
standby mode, at this stage the LEDs will
not blink and the overall consumption
will be minimized.
Fuses replacement
In case of damage of the protection fuses, it’s
possible to replace them with the original
spare fuses provided. To access the fuses,
remove the device cover, and follow the
instructions in the “installation” section.
10
technical features
If you do not use the vehicle for a long time,
it’s recommended to disconnect all the loads
to completely interrupt any residual
consumption that may discharge the leisure
battery.

F.A.Q.
It’s possible to mount a single 200W
panel on a single input (pf1 or pf2)?
you can connect a 200W panel such as
pf1, provided the other channel (pf2) is
shorted or joined with pf1.
what’s maximum solar panel
admitted voltage?
maximum voltage is 27V.
IS a far above 15v voltage a battery
voltage (with the sun regulator
active) normal?
Yes, it is normal when the device is in
desulphation. you can still disable this
function by selecting the jumper as
described in the “charging curve
selection" section.
