Remove all packaging from the vacuum cleaner. Retain the packaging. If you dispose
of it please do so according to local regulations.

Using the Mains Cable Holders
To release the mains cable, simply rotate the upper mains cable holder 180˚ to 1.
unwrap the mains cable. Hang the unwrapped mains cable to the mains cable
hook before using the vacuum cleaner.
To store the mains cable, make sure that the upper mains cable holder is in an 2.
upright position. Wrap the mains cable into place by wrapping in a clockwise
direction around the mains cable holders. Don’t over tighten the mains cable as
this may cause damage to the mains cable.

Suggested Pile Height Setting
You may need to choose a higher setting to make some jobs easier, such as vacuuming
scatter rugs and longer pile carpets.
Suggested Settings
Long Pile (HIGHEST): shag carpet, long pile, plush scatter rugs - medium to long pile.
Short Pile (LOWEST): short to medium pile, bare oors very low pile, bare oors.
Adjusting the Carpet Pile Height Setting
This vacuum cleaner can be used on multiple types of carpeting. To select a pile height
setting:
Turn the vacuum cleaner o. Make sure the vacuum cleaner is in its upright 1.
position.
Select a pile height setting by turning the carpet height adjustment control to the 2.
desired setting.

Special care is required when vacuuming certain types of carpets or oor coverings. Always
check the carpet or oor covering manufacturer’s recommended cleaning instructions before
vacuuming. Place vacuum cleaner in the highest setting (Long Pile) setting when using
attachments to prevent possible oor damage.

Using the Hose with Accessories
Turn the vacuum cleaner o. Make sure the vacuum cleaner is in its upright 1.
position.
Turn the carpet height adjustment control to the highest setting (Long Pile).2.
Take out the upper hose from the lower hose. If additional length is required, 3.
attach the extension tube to the end of the upper hose and then attach the
crevice tool or the small brush to the end of the extension tube.
Avoid tipping the vacuum cleaner or standing it on furniture, fringed rugs or carpeted •
stairs, whilst you are using the hose with the attachments. When the vacuum cleaner is
turned on, the roller brush underneath will continue to rotate. Avoid leaving the vacuum
cleaner in one place for an extended period of time, particularly on thick carpet.
Do not pull the vacuum cleaner around the room by the hose as it could tip over and cause •
damage. Do not over stretch the hose, as trying to reach beyond the hoses extended
length could cause the vacuum cleaner to tip over.

To prevent the dust dispersing, 4.
lower the lower half of the dust tank
into your dust bin and then empty
the dust tank.
Turn the vacuum cleaner o and 1.
unplug it from the mains socket.
Press the dust tank release button.
Cleaning the Dust Tank and HEPA Filter
To reduce the risk of electric shock, the mains cable must be disconnected before •
removing the dust tank, HEPA lter, changing the lters or performing maintenance/
trouble shooting checks. The dust tank must always be emptied when the dirt level
reaches the “FULL line on the dust tank.
Never use the vacuum cleaner without the dust tank installed, otherwise damage to the •
vacuum cleaner may occur.
Take the dust tank out from the 2.
vacuum cleaner using the dust tank
handle.
To empty the dust tank, unlock 3.

turning the upper half of the dust

The white material in the HEPA lter will discolour over time. This is NORMAL and will NOT •
aect the performance of the lter.
Never overll the dust tank. We recommended that you wash the lter once a week or •
when the suction appears to have been reduced. Failure to keep the lter clean could
result in the motor becoming damaged.
If you nd the washable HEPA lter 5.
is blocked or dirty, pull the HEPA
lter out from the upper half of the
dust tank.
Vigorously tap the HEPA lter on a 6.
hard surface until no more dust can
be seen falling out.
We recommended that you put the
HEPA lter into a rubbish bag before
tapping the dust out.
Alternatively, you may soak it 7.
in warm soapy water for a few
minutes, and then rinse it under a
running tap to remove all traces of
soap. Allows 24 hours for drying
before inserting back into the
vacuum cleaner.
Rinse the two halves of the dust 8.

take out the dust tank from the vacuum
cleaner using the dust tank handle.
Remove the exhaust lter. Clean it in 3.
warm soapy water. Leave to dry for up
to 24 hours.

Motor Thermostat
This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If for some
reason the vacuum cleaner should overheat, the thermostat will automatically turn
the vacuum cleaner o. If this occurs:
Turn the vacuum cleaner o at once and unplug it from the mains socket.1.
Find the source of the overheating problem (i.e. clogged hose or lter). If a 2.
clogged hose or lter is found, unclog the hose and replace the lters. Wait at
least 45 minutes before attempting to reuse the vacuum cleaner.
After the vacuum cleaner has cooled down for 45 minutes, plug in the vacuum 3.
cleaner and turn it on. The vacuum cleaner should start again. If the vacuum
cleaner fails to operate or the thermostat switches the vacuum cleaner o again,
return it to your nearest service center for examination or repair.
Changing the Drive Belt
Should the drive belt become worn or slips you can replace it with a new one.
Turn the vacuum cleaner o and unplug it from the mains socket.1.
Make sure the vacuum cleaner is locked in its upright position.2.
Carefully lay the vacuum cleaner down and remove the three xing screws. 3.
Ensure you keep all the screws in a safe place.

Only use the right drive belt. Using another drive belt could create a hazard.
Take o the cover of the power head starting from the back of the power head.4.
Remove the roller brush lifting it rmly upwards to release it.5.
Slide out the belt from the rolling rod. 6.
Replace the worn out drive belt with a new one (not included). Place the new belt 7.
drive onto the rolling rod. Carefully stretch the new belt over the roller brush and
ensure it is correctly tted before reinserting the roller brush.
Ret the cover in the same way using the three xing screws.8.
