Problem description: The lower, operational screen of the SQA is blank, but lit OR it displays black lines on a yellow
background.
Procedure
STEP1:
1. ReinstalltheSQAVsoftware.
2. IfthesoftwareissuccessfullyinstalledandthescreenisstillblankgotoStep2
3. Ifthesoftwarewasnotinstalledsuccessfullybasedon:
a. ACKerror:ThisisaFLASHMEMORYfailure.TheSQAVmustbesentback
toMESLTDforrepairasanRMA.
b. TIMEOUTerror:ThisisacommunicationfailurebetweentheSQAandthePC.VerifythattheSQAVis
connectedtothecorrectCOMportonyourPCandalsothattheCOMportisdefinedproperly.
c. Iftheportisfunctioning:PresstheSERVICEbuttonwhilesequentiallyswitchingthedeviceonandofftwice.Try
toinstallthesoftwareagain.Iftheinstallationfailsagain–gotoStep2.
STEP2:
1. MakesurethattheSQAVisturnedoffand
dissconnectedfromanysourceofelectricity.
2. OpentheSQAV.
3. Verifythattheharnessthatconnectsthe
userscreenandthemainboardisinthe
correctpositionandisproperlyconnected
(seeFigure1).
4. Ifthe
problempersistsgotoStep3.


Appendix1:InstructionsforRESEATINGorREPLACINGtheSQAPROCESSOR
Stage1:Reseatingtheprocessortothecorrectposition:
1. TurnofftheSQAanddisconnectthepowersupplycable.
2. Removethe4screwsontherearpanelusingaPhilipsscrew
driver#2(Fig.1)andopentheSQA(Fig.2)
3. Slightlypressthecenteroftheprocessor
withanindexfinger
toreseatitintothecorrectposition.(Fig.3).
4. ClosetheSQAandreplacethe4Phillipsscrewsontherear
Panel.
5. ConnectthepowercableoftheSQAV.
6. TurntheSQAonandruntheSELFTEST.
7. IftheSQA
Vpasses,therepairprocessiscomplete.
8. IftheSQAVdoesnotturnonorfailsselftest,gotostage2.
