NOTE: If you have connected the DVD-HD008 to a Home Theatre System
using the Coaxial Digital Audio cable you may need to also connect the RCA
Stereo Connection to your TV To allow Audio to be heard through the TV
when it is not convenient to have the Home Theatre System turned on.

equipment t he player is t o be connect ed to. Please refer t o t he equipment user
manual to determine the method or combination that best suits your needs.
CO N N ECT I N G T HE P LAYER
HDMI can t ransmit bot h audio and vi deo signals over a singl e cabl e. If you have an
HDMI capabl e recei ver t hat can support HDMI audio, you can simpl y run an HDMI
cable from t he player t o your receiver and enable HDMI audi o on t he receiver (see
your receivers owners manual for more information). The receiver usually has an
HDMI out put t hat you can connect t o your TV t o pass t he video si gnal.
HDMI is a wonderf ul t hing. A singl e cable can t ransport bot h audio AND video from
your player to your display. Be aware, however, that HDMI is an evolving standard,
and there could be compatibility issues. A receiver that supports audio input over
HDMI is requir ed.

have audio input capability, please read the following sections regarding other
connect ion met hods.
In order to play multi-channel audi o f or al l f or mat s, t he receiver must support HDMI
v1.1 or later. A receiver that supports HDMI v1.3 with decoding capability for Dolby
Tr ueHD and DTS-HD Mast er Audio i s pref erred. Please check t he specificat ions of
your receiver to ensure that it meets the requirements.
Due t o bandwidth limitations, high resolution audio formats such as Dolby Digital
Pl u s, Dol b y Tr u eHD, DTS-HD High Resolut ion and DTS-HD Mast er Audio cannot be
sent t hr ough t he coaxial di gi t al audio out put . A r educed r esolut i on ver si on of t he
same audi o t rack will be output instead. To listen to high resolution audio formats in
their best quality, please use the HDMI connection if you have a receiver that
handles HDMI audio.
Due t o copyright r est ri ct ions and bandwidt h limit at ions, ful l r esolut ion audio f rom DVD Audio discs
cannot be sent t hrough t he coaxial or opt ical digit al audio out put . To list en t o DVD-Audio in f ull
resolution, please use the HDMI or analogue audio connections.
