Introduction.
The Alecto AK-30 is a radio-controlled clock with an alarm (wake-
up) function and temperature / humidity display.
The clock is powered by 3 batteries, Alkaline type, size AAA, volt-
age 1.5V. Batteries are not included.
The clock is not waterproof and therefor only suitable for indoor
use.
About this users manual.
This symbol represents a warning. To ensure safe use, always
adhere to the instructions described in this documentation.
This symbol is followed by a user’s tip.

Environment.
This product may not be discarded as normal household waste at
the end of its life span, you must bring it to a collection point for the
recycling of electric and electronic devices.
Don’t throw away exhausted batteries, but bring them to your
local depot for Small Chemical Waste (SCW).

Declaration of conformity.
Hereby, Hesdo declares that the radio equipment type Alecto AK-
30 is in compliance with directive 2014/53/EU. The full text of the

Installation.
Open the battery compartment at the rear of the clock by
depressing the tab of the battery cover and then sliding the cover
forwards. Insert 3 x 1.5V size AAA batteries (MICRO-LR03). The
use of Alkaline batteries is recommended. While installing the
batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity as indicated inside the
battery compartment. Finally, close the battery cover and place the
clock on a at surface.
Automatic time settings.
The clock now immediately starts searching for the DCF radio
signal. Depending on the strength of the signal, this may take
anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours.
User tips:
The clock loses all its information when the batteries are
removed.
Don’t expose the clock to direct sunlight, heat, coldness, high
humidity or wet environments.
Only clean the clock with a moist cloth. Don’t use any cleaning
agents.

Display.
1. Battery symbol, illuminates when the battery power is low
2. “AM” or “PM”, illuminates when the clock is set to the 12-hours
format
- AM appears from 12:00h at night until 12:00h in the afternoon
- PM appears from 12:00h in the afternoon until 12:00h at night
3. 23:34:38, time display (hours, minutes, seconds)
4. Zz, ashes when the SNOOZE function is activated (see also
‘Wake-up function’)
5. RCC indication, ashes while the device is searching for the
DCF radio signal, remains lit when the radio signal is being
received correctly
6. DST, appears when the clock has automatically switched to
summer time (DST = Daylight Saving Time)

Manual time settings.
If the clock is unable to receive the DCF radio signal, you may set
the time manually as follows:
1. Press and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds, “24Hr” starts
ashing
2. Now use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the settings in the
following order:
- 12Hr or 24Hr clock, press the MODE button
- the hours, press the MODE button
- the minutes, press the MODE button
- the year, press the MODE button
- the month, press the MODE button
- the day, press the MODE button
- the time zone (for use in the Benelux, set to ‘0’), press the
MODE button
3. The time is now set.
Although the day, month and year are not shown you must
set these parameters, otherwise the clock is unable to
switch back and forth between daylight saving time and regular
time.

Wake-up function.
To set the wake-up time:
1. Briey press the MODE button, the current wake-up time is
displayed followed by “AL”
2. Press and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds, the alarm
hours start ashing
3. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the alarm hours, press
the MODE button, the alarm minutes start ashing
4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the alarm minutes, press
the MODE button
5. The wake-up time settings are closed and the actual time is
displayed
To check the wake-up time:
1. Briey press the MODE button, the current wake-up time is
displayed followed by “AL”.
2. After 5 seconds the actual time is shown again.
To switch the alarm function on/o:
1. Briey press the MODE button, the current wake-up time is
displayed followed by “AL”
2. Press and hold the DOWN button for 3 seconds:
- on: the wake-up function is enabled
- o: the wake-up function is disabled
3. Press the MODE button and the actual time is shown again

Alarm operation:
The alarm will sound for up to a maximum of 120 seconds at
the set alarm time:
- rst 10 seconds 1 beep per second
- then 10 seconds 2 beeps per second
- then 10 seconds 4 beeps per second
- then 90 seconds continuous beeping
Press a random button at the rear of the clock to stop the alarm
signal earlier or press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button on top of the
clock to enable the snooze function; Zz starts ashing and the
wake-up alarm will sound again after 5 minutes.
Other functions.
Switching the DCF receiver on/o:
You may switch o the DCF receiver as follows to only display the
time as you’ve programmed it:
To disable: press and hold the UP button at the rear of the clock
for 3 seconds until the antenna symbol disappears
You may switch the receiver back on again as follows:
To enable: press and hold the UP button at the rear of the clock
for 3 seconds until the antenna symbol starts ashing and the
clock starts searching for the DCF signal.

Display lighting:
Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to switch on the display light-
ing. this light is switched o again automatically after 5 seconds.
Temperature and humidity:
The temperature of the room in which the clock is situated is
displayed in the upper right corner, while the humidity is dis-
played in bottom right corner of the display.
Briey press the DOWN button to switch the temperature display
between degrees Celsius (°C) and degrees Fahrenheit (°F).
Keep in mind that the temperature and humidity will only be
shown correctly after leaving the clock a full day (24 hours) in
the same room.
