Finding and configuring your device settings using Device Search Tool
Download Device Search Tool from camius.com/support and install is normally,
Once it runs allow firewall access, all connected devices will appear
The search tab allows you to update the IP address and settings:
1- Highlight device row as illustrated below 2- Change ‘Net Mode’ to ‘static’
3- Type in the new IP, Gateway, Net Mask, and Media Port
4- Make sure to type in the password and click ‘Modify’, click ‘Search’ again in
a few seconds to see the changes
Once you’re happy with settings, click on the IP and open it in IE (Internet Explorer)
It is recommended to run IE as Administrator
Firmware upgrade using Device Search Tool
Your device shipped with the latest stable release, unless you’re facing technical
issues an upgrade isn’t needed, please report any issue first to [email protected]

If you received a link to upgrade it yourself, the ‘Upgrade’ tab allows you to check
the box next to the device/s and upload the FW file, it takes about 2 minutes to finish.
Essential Configuration for your device (Internet Explorer ‘Remote Setting’)
For IP cameras that have built-in Mics, enabling Audio is under Device/Audio
The Alarm section is where you enable ‘Motion Detection’, it’s also where you’ll
configure ‘Flood Light’ and a ‘PIR’ sensor for IP cameras that have these features.
Email Setup. The recommended settings (under ‘Remote Setting’ / ‘Network’)
This allows your device to Email you snapshots (on motion) and important warnings
We recommend getting a free Gmail account, changing the Gmail Account ‘Security’
settings to enable ‘Less Secure App Access’, then enter this in Device Email settings:
Encryption: TLS, SMTP Port: 587, SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com, username is
the [email protected], and its Password
Set the Sender to that account, and add up to 3 recipients, test it before saving.

IP Camera: the Infra Red LEDs shine faint red in the dark
2) Make sure the device/s are connected to LAN and the Internet

Defaults
Unless prompted to create a password on first power up the default username and
password is: admin, to enhance privacy do create a new password.
Recorder‘s minimum alphanumeric password length: 8 characters, the default
media port is 9000
IP Camera’s minimum alphanumeric password length: 6 characters, the default
media port is 9988
DHCP will auto-assign the device’s IP based on your LAN settings
It’s recommended to use ‘Device Search Tool’ to find the assigned IPs

Device Search Tool for PC & Mac will help you find your devices on LAN, update

Surveillance Client for PC & Mac is a professional video management software.
Browser: Internet Explorer will prompt for Plugin installation once you type the
local IP (or click on it in Device Search Tool)
Live View
You’ll see added devices on the main App view as
shown here (Demo1, Demo2)
Tapping on one will load all its video channels.
Use the ‘Favorite Group’ to create a group with feeds
from different devices
Tap this icon displayed on each feed to change
the feed’s video quality
In multi-view mode, double-tapping on one of the
feeds will expand it, double-tapping again goes back
to multi-view
Zooming a single feed: Spread and pinch to zoom
Switching to landscape gives you a full-screen view
The icons on the bottom are for taking a snapshot or
video on your smartphone, changing the layout
(split mode), listening to the camera’s Mic* and
activating the camera’s speaker**
* For cameras with Audio
** For cameras with 2-way Audio
Playback
Tap the icon to launch playback then tap the
calendar line to pick a day then to load that
day’s footage, now scroll the bottom ‘hours’
section to set the desired playback time.
Once the incident is found start capturing it locally on
your phone by tapping the icon (tapping it again
will end the local capture).
The captured video is found under Menu /
From there tap to share the file/s.
Notifications
Tap under menu to enable smartphone
push notifications, this is mainly for ‘motion’ events,
here you can enable notifications per channel.
Please make sure to enable ‘motion’
on each channel first under
In RXCAMVIEW, tap the menu icon then
Tap the ‘+’ (top right), then ‘Online Device’ to find devices on
your LAN, this will also confirm that the device is wired correctly
Alternatively you can scan the QR code found on the
device and its info webpage.
Once the online device is found tap the entry and type
in the device’s password then ‘save‘
To verify that your device/s can be accessed remotely,
disconnect phone’s WiFi briefly and let the device/s reload.
