PURPOSE OF MANUAL
This manual addresses safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions and
operating procedures. Keep your purchase order # with this manual and write it on the
inside of the front cover in case you need customer support assistance later.
SAFETY WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: When using this tool, safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of personal injury and damage to equipment. Read all instructions before assembly and
use of this tool!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries. Use standard welding safety
procedures to ensure safety, cleanliness and efficiency of your welding experience
throughout the entirety of this manual.
2. Do not expose the tool or welder to damp or wet locations. Do not expose to rain.
Keep area well lighted. Do not use electrically powered tools in the presence of
flammable gases or liquids. Observe work area conditions always.
3. Use ANSI approved welding helmet and respirator when working around metal, wood
and chemical dusts and mists.
4. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do
the work of a larger industrial tool. This tool is designed to work specifically with
Lotos Technology welding machines ONLY! It is not compatible with other brand
machines or accessories and can cause damage to your machine if forced
assembled.
5. Maintain tools with care. Inspect hoses periodically and if damaged have them
replaced by a qualified technician.
6. Check damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged should
be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment and compatibility of all parts with your
machine, cables, accessories and parts. If any part is damaged it should be replaced
before operating the machine for safety precaution.
7. Replacement parts and Accessories. When servicing use only identical and
guaranteed authentic Lotos replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the
warranty.
8. Approved accessories and parts are available from Lotos Technology only. Please
contact our customer support team if you require assistance.
ASSEMBLY
Follow assembly instructions carefully. Deviation from safety and operation precautions can result in
fire, explosion, damage to equipment or injury to the operator.
Compressed Gas Cylinders & Regulators:
1) Place and secure the cylinders together where they will be used (on a welding cart, wall, work
bench or post with chains). Cylinders must remain in a vertical position and must always be
properly secured.
2) Remove protector cap from each cylinder and examine the outlet nozzles closely. Make sure
that connections and screws are not damaged or can cause a leak.
3) Clean cylinder valves by cracking. In order to clean the cylinder valve briefly open and close
“crack” each cylinder valve to dislodge any dirt, dust or rust that may be present. These
particles if not cleaned out will drift into the regulator when the valve is opened. Wipe
connectors with a clean cloth.
4) Examine hoses carefully before each use. If there are cuts, burns or worn areas on the hose
it will need to be replaced. Fittings should also be checked for damage. If any damage is
found the parts will need to be replaced for proper function and safety assurance.
How to Assemble AR04 Argon Regulator to your Gas Cylinder & Welder:
1) Connect the argon hose to the outlet fitting and tighten connection firmly with a wrench.
2) If the hose is not entirely fitted make sure to add extra clamps on the fitting end so the gas
can still flow through the hose.
3) Connect the other end of the hose to the welding machine.
4) Check for gas leaks. Once your machine, fittings and installation is secured you can begin to
operate your welding machine.
