Protect the Value of Your
Brake Shoes During Shipment
Pallets
• The Bendix-recommended pallet size is 40" x 48".
• Do not ship oversized pallets, they often break in transit.
• Only use pallets in good condition made of dense
hardwood that is able to safely support the weight of
the shipment.
Corrugated Carboard
• Pallets should have a layer of corrugated cardboard placed on the deck before the
shoes are loaded.
Stacking the Shoes
• Do not return shoes in their original boxes.
• Do not stack more than 100 shoes per (40" x 48") pallet.
Cover the Shoes
• Pallets should have at least one layer of corrugated cardboard placed on the
top of the pallet BEFORE the stretch fi lm and banding is applied.
• Do not use plywood or pallets on top.
Stretch Film Wrap
• Attach one copy of the Core Return Memo (CRM) under the stretch fi lm,
and a second copy on the outside.
• The stretch fi lm must be secured to the pallet.
• Use at least eight turns of stretch fi lm.
Banding
After the stretch fi lm, all pallets should have:
• at least four bands to secure the product to the skid.
• at least two bands per side (length/width).
Shipper information
• Each piece of freight should be clearly marked with the shipper address,
consignee address, and pro number. The second CRM should also be
placed on the outside.
