Flat Floor Base
1. If it is desired to cover the bottom of the base with the carpet or floor mat, lay the material
back to expose the bare floor.
2. Place the base in the passenger footwell with the post in the corner closet to the hump
and the seat. Move the base around until the best post location is determined. Mark the
mounting hole locations, and note whether it will be necessary to shim any corner with
washers to compensate for floor irregularities.
3. Drill 1- 13/32" hole at each mounting hole location, using care not to damage any
equipment below the floor. Most bases have holes for 3/8" bolts, but holes for 1/2" bolts are
furnished in the taller bases.
4. Place bolts, washers and nuts in all holes, shimming as necessary with fender washers,
and tighten. Do not use lag screws or sheet metal screws as these can pull out of the floor.
5. The height is adjustable by loosening the bolt at the top of the post one turn. If necessary,
tap lightly on the top of the bolt to release the top plate. Adjust the height and direction
of the top plate and retighten the bolt.
