SUMMARY: The IGBT driver PCB (Part Numbers – 38014, 38052 and 31486) could have the plugs
wired inconsistently. There are two driver PCB’s in each model listed above. If replacing only one
driver PCB be sure the plug wire sequence matches the driver PCB already in the unit. If in doubt
replace both driver PCB’s with recent manufactured replacement parts.
Check to be sure that:
1. Terminal #1 on the PCB is wired (white) to plug pin #4
2. Terminal #2 on the PCB is wired (red) to plug pin #3
3. Terminal #3 on the PCB is wired (red) to plug pin #2
4. Terminal #4 on the PCB is wired (white) to plug pin #1
Note: Plug pin #1 is identified by a triangle positioned over the pin. Terminal #1 is etched on
the PCB.

OPERATIONAL IMPACT:
IF A MISMATCHED SET OF DRIVER PCB’S ARE INSTALLED, THE POWER SOURCE WILL BE
SERIOUSLY DAMAGED WHEN POWER IS APPLIED.
ACTION / COMMENT/ OPERATIONAL NOTE: It is recommended that work be completed by a trained
service technician preferably by an ESAB Authorized Repair Station.
