1)ForthecorrectoperationoftheDowndraft,itisimportantforittobeinstalledcorrectly.

Before proceeding with installation

2)Beforeinstallingyourappliance,removeallsafetyprotectionsasillustratedinFig.2-2b

–2c–2d.

3)Themotorisdeliveredxedtotheappliancetopreventanydamageduringtransport.Itis

necessarytoremovethemotorpriortobeginningtheinstallation.

4)Makearectangularopeninginthebackpartofthekitchentopwiththefollowingdimensions:

790x1000(seeFig.3).

5)Ifyouwishtopositionthehoodsothatitisattachedtothecooktop,itispossibletojointhe

hoodopeningtothecooktop.

6)Beforemakingtheopening,checktheinsideofthecabinetlevelwiththehoodareatomake

surethereisnoframeworkorotherelementsthatcouldadverselyaectthecorrectinstallation.

Makesurethatthesizeofthehoodwithitsmotorandtheworktoparecompatiblewiththeunit

soastoallowinstallation.

7)Applytheadhesivetothebottompartofthecornice(Fig.11)andplaceitinsidetheopening

inthekitchentop.ThenttheDowndraftinsidetheunit.

Installation

8)Fitthehoodinsidetheunit,introducingitfromabove.

9)Thesteelcorniceofthehoodmustadhereperfectlytotheupperkitchentop.

10)Fastenthehoodinsidetheunit,usingthespecialbrackets(Fig.5A).Accordingtothesize

oftheunitandtheoverallsizeoftheairexhausttube,usethefasteningbracketsprovided.

Motor

11)Themotorhasbeendesignedtobexedtothehood.Proceedtotthemotor,adjusting

theairexhaustoutlettotherequiredposition,facingupordown(Fig.6).

12)Themotorcanbefastenedeithertothefrontortobackpartoftheappliance.Toinstallat

theback,proceedasfollows:unscrewtheplateinthebackpartofthehood,screwinthemotor

inplaceoftheplate,connectthemotorwiringcorrectlyandscrewtheplateintothefrontpart

ofthehood.

Whenthemotorhasbeeninstalled,proceedtottheairexhausttube.

Warning:donotmakeanyotherholesintheappliance,asthiscoulddamagetheinternalsli-

dingpartsaswellastheelectricalparts.

13)Positionthemetalboxwiththeelectricalpartsinanareathatcanbeaccessedeasilyfor

assistanceinterventions(Fig.6)andconnecttheelectricconnectorstothehood.Warning:be

suretofollowtheguidelinesandwarningsinthesectionabout“Howtoconnectthehood”

14)Connecttheappliancetothemainselectricity.

Downdraft calibration

Afterthedowndrafthasbeeninstalled,theaspirationpanelmustbecalibrated.Thisoperation

isnecessarytoregulatethepowerexstractionoftheaspirationpanel.Connecttheproductto

thepowerline,makingsurethatit is conformed to the supply voltage indicated on the tech-

nical data tag. Pushing the ON/1 button (g. 8)theaspirationpanelrises.Afterithasreached

aheightof180mmfromthecooketop,pressOFF,tostoptheextractionthentheTimer(g.8)

andafter2sec.theOFFbutton.

Thedowndraftwillcarryoutthecalibrationofitsaspirationpanelrisingandretractingforsome

centimeters.Duringthisphase,thebuttonsonthepushbuttoncontrolpanelblink.Attheend

ofthecalibration,theaspirationpanelgetbacktothepreviouspositionandthebuttonendto

blink.Waituntiltheaspirationpanelstopsmovingbeforere-activatingtheextraction.

Warning: calibrationneedstobecarriedoutcorrectlysincethisoperationwillplayanimportant

partinyoursafetybothduringinstallationandwithregardtogeneralsafetyrules.

UTILISATION

Thisproductisintendedtoextractfumes,fats,andsteamfromcooking.Ithasbeendesigned

andmadeforuseeitherinthesuctionorlterversions.

VERSION EVACUATION exterieure

Thehoodisequippedwithanairoutlet(Fig.AFIGURE5)toconveysmokeoutwards(theue

pipeandxingangearenotsupplied).

Check valve blockage

Warning:Beforeconnectingtheairexhausthose,makesurethatthecheckvalvesarefreeto

turnoverfreely.

In ltering application that the stop valve doesn’t permit the entrance of wind and exhau-

sted air.

Filtering version

Inthecaseanexhaustingholeisnotpossible,thehoodcanbeusedinlteringversion.Forthis

modecharcolltersaretobettedinsidethehood.Filteredairwillbeevacuatedinthekitchen

troughaductthatconveystheaironasideofthecabinet(picture6bis).

ELECTRIALHOOKUP

This appliance conforms to the European Directives 2006/95/EC (Low Voltage Directive)

and 2004/108/EC (Electromagnetic Compatibility).

Whenyouinstalltheapplianceandcarryoutmaintenance,itmustbeunpluggedfromthepower

sourceorthefusesmustbedisengagedorremoved.Electricalhookupmustbecarriedout

beforetheapplianceisinstalledinthecabinet.

Checkthat:

-thepowersourceissucient,

-powercordsareingoodcondition,

-Thediameterofthecablesconformstoinstallationregulations.

- MOUNTING THE HOOD

Installation must conform to the regulations in force regarding the ventilation of

enclosed environments. In France, these regulations are container in the DTU 61.1 of the

CSTB. In particular, discharged air must not be channelled into a conduit used for exhaust

discharge or discharge from devices that operate with gas or other combustible materials.

The use of unused conduits is not permissible without the approval of a qualied techni-

cian.

draftintheopenposition.Toopenthedowndraft,pushtheON/1key.Nextremovethefront

- ELECTRIAL HOOK UP OF THE HOOD

WARNING: The electronic board for the controls needs to be installed beneath the work

top, close to the body of the hood and at a minimum distance of 65 cm from all substances

or ducting for ammable substances (gas pipes or ducting for specic liquids)

USEFUL ADVICE: We recommend tting the electronic board at a height of at least 10 cm

from the ground and at a suitable distance from all heat sources

(e.g., the side of an oven or cook top).

This appliance is tted with an H05 VVF 3 conductor, 0.75 mm2 (neutral, phase, and

ground) power cable. This can be hooked up to a 220 – 240 V mono-phase electrical

network by way of a CEI 60083 regulation power socket that must remain accessible after

installation, in conformity to installation regulations.

We decline all responsibility in case of accident caused by a lack of ground connection

or incorrect ground connection. The fuse used must be 10 or 16 A. If the power cable is

damaged, call the after-sales service to avoid any risk.

Attention

Ifthehoodpresentssomeformofanomaly,unplugtheapplianceorremovethefusecorre-

spondingtotheappliance’spowerline.

OFF switch:(Fig.7g)Itisusedtoclosetheaspirationpanelcompletelyortopositionitatin-

termediateheightsatleastmm180abovethecooktop.Whileclosingtheaspirationpanelkeeps

onworkingatthespeedsetuptotheheightofmm180fromthecooktop.Belowthisheightthe

aspirationfunctionisautomaticallycutout.

On switch/+:(Fig.7h)Itisusedtoextracttheaspirationpaneluptothemaximumheightof

mm.300andtosetautomaticallytherstaspirationspeedwhenreachingtheheightofmm

180fromthecooktop.

Whenpressingthebuttonagainafterreachingthisheight,theaspirationmotorspeedcanbe

encreased.

Iftheaspirationpanelispositionedatanintermediateheightbetweenmm180andmm300,

theaspirationpanelcanstartraisingagainbypressingrsttheOFFswitchandthentheOn/+.

Other functions:

-After30hoursofapplianceoperation,thepushbuttonpanelindicatessaturationofthegrease

ltersbythebuttonsashing.Toreset,pressthetimerbutton.

-After4hoursofcontinuousoperationfromthelastsetting,theapplianceturnsoandcloses

automatically.

-Whenthefrontpanelisremovedforcleaningandmaintenanceoperations,alltheelectronic

aspirationandmovementfunctionsarelocked.

-Antipinchingsafetydevice:ifanythingisobstructingtheclosureoperationofthedowndraft,

theoperationwillstopandthedowndraftwillmoveupagain.

4/ CLEANING THE HOOD

Carefulmaintenancehelpsguaranteeproperoperationandgoodresultsfromanapplianceovertime.

The hood must be unplugged from the electrical power source, both by unplugging the

appliance from the socket as well as de-activating the breaker, before removing the metal l-

ters. After cleaning, you must replace the metal lters as outlined in the instructions.
