Ammonia Sensor

Continuous monitoring of ammonia levels is now possible with your EDGE system. The Ammonia Sensor

kit includes a signal converter that must be wired between the output of the sensor and the input of

your EDGE system; requires EDGE software version 2.5 or higher.

For optimum measurements, the sensor should be installed at the center of the area to be monitored

and out-of-reach of animals using the lug at the end of the housing. It must not be mounted near the

fresh air supply, in front of windows or doors, inlets or exhaust ducts. Protect against direct exposure to

dust or splash water. The sensor must be mounted vertically with the sensor pointing down; ±30° at a

location with low vibration and, as much as possible, stable temperatures.

CAUTION: The sensor contains caustic liquid. Avoid contact with eyes and skin; rinse thoroughly with

water if contact occurs and seek medical help if required.

To complete these steps you must have Setup Privileges.

CONFIGURING EDGE SOFTWARE FOR AMMONIA SENSOR:

1. Select the Equipment Congifuration Icon.

2. Select the room you wish to add the equipment to.

3. Scroll down and select Generic Input.

4. Select the Add or Copy equipment button.

5. Name the Sensor as you choose and then select the Signal Type, Units, and Precision as shown

below.

6. Adjust the Max Value from 5.00V to 3.60V.

The Expansion Box, Slot, and Input are site-specific and determined by where the sensor wiring is landed.

7. Select the Home Screen Icon.

8. Scroll to the room you added the equipment to and select the generic input tile.

9. Select the sensor and check the “Show on tile”. Up to 3 inputs can be shown on a tile per room.

CONFIGURING EDGE SOFTWARE ALARMS FOR AMMONIA SENSOR:

1. Select the Setup Icon.

2. Select the room you wish to add the alarm to.

3. At the bottom of the page select the Alarm button.

4. Select Generic Input.

5. Select the sensor you want to add the alarm to.

6. Select Use low and/or Use high alarm and enter the specific alarm threshold you want.

7. Adjust the Recognition time.

8. Select Main alarm relay if you would like this alarm to trigger the alarm system.

9. If configured, the system can trigger an EDGE “Alarm relay” to perform a secondary function that

responds to the alarm. An example of this might be closing a relay to start fans based on the

high alarm threshold.
