NOTES:
Disconnect power before servicing.
Entire Communication network must not exceed 4000 feet to work properly.
The recommended installation is 18 AWG for the communication wires.
Shield must be connected to EARTH at one end of the cable.
It is recommended to use dierent pathways for Automation & Safety wires.
First twisted pair must be used for A and B wires and second twisted pair
must be used for 24V and GND.
WARNING: Do not use stranded
wires with the J23A, J24A terminal
block plug-in type 1832552:
GMVSTBR 2,5/ 5-ST-7,62.
NOTES ABOUT AUTOMA-
TION/SAFETY CABLES:
Refer to Low voltage cable speci-
cations in the EDGE Instruction
Manual.
AP/Cumberland can provide
sourced color-coded communica-
tion wire to install EDGE controls.
The wire will be available in both
16 and 18 gauge to accommo-
date the specied distance
between controls.
Refer to Section
Grounding recommendations for the
system in the EDGE Instruction Manual.
*Blue can be used instead of green.

WARNING: Do not use stranded
wires with the J23A, J24A terminal
block plug-in type 1832552: GMVST-
BR 2,5/ 5-ST-7,62.
High voltage discrete output
(OUT-Ax / OUT-Bx and COMM-A /
COMM-B) terminal blocks accept a
gage range from 12AWG (diameter
of 2.05mm or cross sectional area of
3.30mm2) to 16AWG (diameter of
1.29mm or cross sectional area of
1.30mm2).
High voltage current sensor (CS_Ax,
CS_Bx) terminal blocks accept a
gage range from 12AWG (diameter
of 2.05mm or cross sectional area of
3.30mm2) to 14AWG (diameter of
1.62mm or cross sectional area of
2.08mm2). The conductor can be
stranded or single-stranded.
Minimum current to use with opto:
25mA
Add snubbers to protect contactors.
WARNING: Use only copper wires

NOTES :
A good practice is to use one BOX ID per electrical
panel where modules are installed. Each module
will have the same BOX ID but will have a dierent
BACKPLANE ID (slot number).
A maximum of 8 modules can have the same BOX
ID. If more than 8 modules are used in one electrical
panel, more BOX IDs must be used. Per example: If
the electrical panel contains 13 modules, 2 BOX IDs
must be used (one for module 1 to 8, a second one
for module 9 to 13).
A BOX ID will appear on the EDGE controller when
the modules are detected.
